Birthday brunch for a table of ten, our server was very attentive and kid-friendly. The plates are HUGE on the brunch side, every one comes with ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes, bread, fruit and the delicious sautéed mushrooms. I mean huge! Also included is coffee and OJ. The place itself is a charming old-timey saloon type place. Location is in the heart of Mile End. Only small complaint was it took a long time to clear the table... they brought the bills before this was done. Not a huge deal. Would go back with people who have big appetites. Edited to add: there was a live musician (on a Saturday morning!) who played some lively guitar that set a calm mood. Absolutely love any resto that serves a bowl of coffee! Breakfast so big I couldn't finish it all w/o needing a nap (which seriously cuts into sightseeing & shopping time!). Omelets came with OJ, cup of coffee, fruit, ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes & focaccia! Wait staff are patient & the resto is open late w/ nice sangria (either white or red) & live music. The service is horrendous... you can wait literally forever to be served... the whole place empty... and no one will come. HOWEVER, if you are the regular trash that frequent this dump you'll be served hand and foot. The food is absolute s*it, I rather starve to death than eat here. It's a good restaurant for breakfast in Montreal though it can be much better. The blueberry crèpe i had wasn't extraordinary with frozen blueberry. And there was no french toast on the menu ( it's really a must for a breakfast restaurant in Montreal!). And there were just a tiny quantity of maple syrup with the crepe (try Universel restaurant on Peel street for french toast and lots of maple syrup!). The service was ok but they don't fill our coffees and i had to ask for a refill to have more coffee. Not bad but you can find much better breakfast restaurants in Montreal ! Really not a huge fan. I've been here 3-4 times. Each time I'm a little underwhelmed. There's just nothing that stands out that I can comment on. Nothing's bad, don't get me wrong. I just can't give it 4 stars. The building itself is super weird. Have a good look around. Everything's been built and renovated by an amateur. Electrical plugs without covers, unfinished ceramics, holes in the drywall, etc... The owner has no attention to detail. It's been the same for years now! Nice place for brunch, quite spatious, I was under the impression it was going to be smaller (probably because of the name La "petite" marche). It has a nice big skylight, so lots of natural light inside. It is cozy and has warm decor inside. I also remember a brick wall and some nice mozaique tiles on the floor. We were a group of 8 and we had a lot of fun, the place gives you this nice vibe. I had the spinach Benedictines, it is the only reason I go to any place for brunch, to get Benedictine eggs. Liked them a lot. The portions are not huge like other places, they are just fine. I would say it is a very decent and solid place for brunch in Montreal, not awesome, not the best, but I'm pretty sure I will come back. read more

It was a monumental mess!!! Not necessarily because of the food, but for service as well. We were a group of about 16 people. We made reservations in advance so you'd figure that they would be prepared for us right? No so much. They got our orders all messed up and gave us a ton of attitude all while speaking to us with a condescending voice. The food came out barely warm. I ordered an eggs Benedict with asparagus. The english muffin was super greasy. The yolks hard as rock. The asparagus overcooked and the sauce way too salty. I am not recommending this place. I came on a Friday night it was busy as hell and apparently there was only 1 cook (understandable due to pandemic) but when we asked about our food multiple times after over 2 hours with no food (our parking meter ran out and we still ain't had no food), the owner finally comes over and basically tells us that there is only one cook for the fully packed restaurant and she proceeded to make us feel bad that there was only one cook (like i'm sorry babe that you only hired one cook wtf does that have to do with me and my wallet and my empty stomach like...? why make me feel bad for ur mistakes????) NO concept of customer service's quality. The first time that I went with my husband was one late afternoon around a month and a half ago and we liked it. As manu people had said, the have a nice food selection and patio, the location is cute. So, I thought it would be nice to have brunch there with our friends for my husband's birthday. I called and mentioned that we were about 20 and for reservations they told me that they do it at the basement. Unfortunately the basement is a small dark area shared with three bathrooms and sometimes it can be a little smelly. I decided to go in person and fortunately another girl help us with this, this latina girl was very nice, very friendly. At the end , in order to reduce the large group we split our large group in two and have the reservation in the space that we wanted, the first one for Saturday and another for Sunday . On Saturday everything went well, but on Sunday the not very friendly hostess, a blonde girl (unfortunately I do not have her name) was waiting for us for telling that they couldn't reserve the space that we required and this time we had to go to the basement. Of course I refuse and I ask why, she mentioned many things like my LAST guests came later and that we stayed for too long (around 2 hours and a half probably) and apparently that was too long for her. We did not accept the change but, that Sunday when we were finishing the brunch this hostess showed up and told us that we have to go because they needed the table for another group. Basicall she kick us off when we almost had finished to eat. I do not know if this is the way things are here, but I have been in many other countries and have never see sth like this. The waitress were ok on Saturday and Sunday brunch too, but no amazing. Overall, the service was ok, the food was nice and everything targeted to be a nice experience until this hostess made of it very uncomfortable. I suggest them to get a bigger place because people do not like to receive thiskind of treatment. They should traine their hostess to be customer service orientated and provide a priori, with clear information that if it's the case on Sundays you can only stay for an hour and a half max or whatever they thing it's appropiate. As a customer the experience was bitter-sweet. If I have to go back, on a Saturady or Sunday morning, I will do it just with a friend or a very small group (no more than 4 people). Since the place is very crowed, at rush hours they lack of good coordination, you have to chase the waitress for more coffee or sth else and the hostess are pushing you to get out. My suggestion is NOT to go in rush hours. Unless, you are planning just to go, eat and leave right away. read more

So I was looking for a good brunch place near the Le Plateau-Mont Royal area, and Yelp led me to this place. Let me just say that the portions are HUGE. For around $18, including tip, you can get a hearty breakfast of eggs, toast, potatoes with herbs, a bowl of fruit -- cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, strawberry, grapes, oranges (more fruits than I've eaten in a loooong time), sausage, bacon, smoked salmon, a coffee, orange juice, etc. And this is just one order. The food was all well-done, but rather unremarkable overall. But for the value, it simply cannot be beat. Service was cordial and attentive. Very cute restaurant on Saint-Denis, perfect for breakfast or lunch. Large indoor seating area, and quaint little patio, perfect for sitting on a nice sunny day. The food is quite good, and served in very large portions, and at prices that are easy on the wallet. The service from our waitress was excellent & friendly.
