We were excited thinking about dining out to celebrate New Year's Eve (after 2 long years isolating from the Covid virus) and the coming of 2022. We both savour Italian food and wanted to enjoy an Authentic Italian Pasta, a garlicy Caesar salad and of course a glass or two of Prosecco. La Piazza Allegra is one if our favourite fine dining Italian places, outside of Italy. The prices are very reasonable and the ambiance perfect. Though we are very familiar with and love LaPiazza Allegra, were more than 'over the moon' after our dinner last evening.. After receiving a friendly welcoming greeting at the door, we knew our decision to make reservations here was the right one. With soothing background music, Our meal began with a delicious garlicky Caesar Salad, crusty, homemade herb bread and a glass of Prosecco .. Our waitress, Sarah kindly gave suggestions for our next course giving us just the right amount of time in between to talk sip our Prosecco and enjoy our salad. Next, my partner ordered the legondary Putanessca with a request for sausage to be added; He said the pasta was a perfect al-dente with just the right amount of spicy tomato sauce living up to its spicy historically storied past. I ordered the Seafood Capalletti.. It is no wonder that this is a very popular dish (one is advised when making reservations, to order it ahead of time). The pockets of al-dente pasta are filled with seafood, shrimp is also in the deliciously, delicate creamy sauce- This dish is to 'die for'.. Savour it ? I did! We ended our meal with a two scoop delicious Ruby Red Raspberry sorbet.. A perfect ending to the meal. To say we were Happy with the whole experience from beginning to end is just the 'tip of the proverbial iceberg'.. As we left the restaurant we were greeted and pleased to be able to speak to Chef Mark Farrugia, who also advised us of his other more casual restaurant Sasso, on Hamilton's 'Mountain' We will definitely be back again and will not only order the Capalletti but also the mussels.. This is without a doubt a place that is a must for an Italian dining experience.. Thank you again Chef Mark and your staff for a wonderful evening.

We eat at a lot of Italian restaurants, but this one stands out. It feels like everything is homemade and prepared with genuine love. All four of us ordered the chicken parmigiana, each with a different pasta pairing. My wife chose gnocchi with red sauce, while I went for penne with the lemon vodka sauce. That lemon vodka sauce was unbelievably rich and creamy. I'm still talking about it! I almost ordered some to go, but honestly, I doubt it would have made it home without me picking at it on the way home. This place is truly a hidden gem, a cozy hole-in-the-wall worth discovering. The waitstaff was warm, friendly, and attentive, and there's plenty of parking right outside. We can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu. A definite 10/10 !

Had brunch with a small group of girlfriends here Caro was well accommodated for the group. We had reservations at 10:30 am but it didn't seem like we needed them. It did start getting busy closer to lunch. The atmosphere/attire is very casual and laid back while having a top quality brunch. There's a small paid parking lot a street over from the restaurant.

It was definitely catering to girls night out. We started with the crispy polenta fries - these were the clear winner of the night. It came with a marinara and aioli sauce, and was perfectly crispy, salty, and flavorful. I wish there was a bigger version of this because it could have easily been a meal substitute. The Arugula salad was also well-balanced and bright - a food combination of sweet, salty, peppery, and crunchy. We got the potato Bianco pizza - would not recommend this. It was very bland and burnt on the bottom. I wish we had tried a different pizza because they looked good! We also had the Short Rib Rigatoni. The flavors of this pasta were stellar! I would highly recommend getting this - the pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was very flavorful, and there was a generous serving of short rib. We lastly finished off with the Tiramisu, which was tasty, but not a traditional "tiramisu" flavor. I'd come back again to try some of their other pizzas and pastas. Drinks were pretty good, too!

It is not a big restaurant but the decor is very nice. There was 5 of us there and 4 of us ordered the osso bucco which is braised veal shank on a bed of risotto. The risotto was very soft, maybe a little overcooked but I still enjoyed it. The veal was fell off the bone nicely and was very tender and the marrow was yummy. The portion was generous and I was full after but of course I had to get the tiramisu! The tiramisu was not as light and fluffy as I expected but the flavour was well balanced. The amount of espresso and mescarpone was perfect. The service was not great. The server offered parmesan and pepper on my dish and neglected to offer it to anyone else in my party, disappeared and was nowhere to be found. I would come back here but not in a large group.
