We stopped in for lunch before hitting the casino. An interesting lunch special that was served on a Sunday, even tho the menu says mon-sat. Choice of soup or salad, which we had the nice sized salad with delish homemade creamy Italian dressing and 1 cheese slice which was 1 1/2 slices in reality, nice ratio of sauce & cheese and stayed hot while eating plus what they called a half sandwich which was on a hero sized roll. Been going here since 2000 almost 20 years. They have expanded their restaurant and made it more upscale. It's a local favorite, the owners Rick and his family work and run it. They are great people . The food is homemade taste and pizza is amazing. read more

We found ourselves in this neighborhood today and yelped for a place to eat. This restaurant came up so we gave it a shot. After viewing the menu and taking in the restaurant vibe we liked what we saw. I had a special - tortellini, peas, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a garlic and olive oil sauce and my husband had an amazing caprese pizza - deep dish. It appears they have daily pizza specials and they all looked wonderful. My husband said it best when in the end he said "this place is legit!". If in the margate area give it a shot!! read more

Second time here. First time we had the pizza, meat lovers and extra cheese. The meat lovers pizza was delish! They piled on all types of meat and it was extremely tasty! Second time, we came for dinner. Garlic rolls are a must! They lather the rolls in a garlic butter sauce that is ah-maz-ing! Veal parmigiana was good. Sauce was excellent. The food is good, but the Caesar salad is way over priced. $9.99 for a salad ? I mean come on, that's robbery. My biggest complaint is I called in to order a pizza, and the lady on the phone says " sorry we are closed for the night " it's 9:12 pm on a Monday, and the website, and every other outlet, says you're open until 10 pm. Why not just say the truth? That you do not feel like taking more orders ? Because clearly you are open. It's unacceptable to close 1 hour before your normal time. Always a good lunch, friendly and helpful staff. Owner always at the counter making you feel welcome. Lunch specials are well priced and tasty. Pasta Carbonara and Pene a la Vodca are my two favorites. read more

I've been eating at La Pizzeria since I was young. My parents used to order the large Sicilian Square pie on Friday nights. I hadn't been there in a few years, I rediscovered it earlier this year. I've been buying their product for years , but this Sunday was the last time I patronized that restaurant. Although the pizza is not cheap, it is usually good, so I was willing to pay the price. Their service, however, is another matter. As I stopped by to pick up my pie yesterday, there were no other customers there. Nonetheless, my presence was totally ignored by the staff. The counter girl was chatting away on the phone; she took my cash, gave me change and went back to her phone. To get her attention I had to ask her what did I just pay for. As I waited and waited, the owner just happened to walk by and give me a blank stare. Finally, she gave me my pie (it was ready and sitting there the whole time) - without putting down the phone, without looking at me, without "thank you". And the place was EMPTY. You'd think for the prices they charge they could afford to hire someone to provide decent service. La Pizzeria just lost a long-term customer. There is no shortage of pizzerias around here, so why would I spend my money at a place where I'm treated like a nuisance? read more

I am basing this from the pizza and pasta that I get... Barone's La Pizzeria will always be the spot where I'd go when I crave a slice of pizza. I love how thin the dough is and how amazing it tastes! My go-to is a cheese slice with basil! I usually go or veggie pizzas and I wish they can sell individual veggie pizzas without charging me per topping! They, however, have a filling and thick square Sicilian slices options ready to eat per slice charge! Good job, guys! read more

Our family has been going here for years. At the beginning, there was only the small section on a black and white checkered floor with about 8 small tables before tripling their size several years ago. I miss the previous family who owned it, and was very disappointed when I stopped in for lunch yesterday. My favorite stracciatella soup was as thick as a stew with very little broth and an abundance of salt. My garlic rolls were stale, there was trash in multiple locations on the dining area floor and the restroom mirror was filthy. I had to ask a young man that was sweeping the floor to find my server after ten minutes of attempting to interrupt the socializing of the servers to get my check. There was only ONE other couple in the restaurant, so no excuse for poor service. After years of loyalty, I will give them one more chance. I hate to lose such a previously dependable restaurant. read more

I was looking forward to trying a new place. I know this place has been there a long time. So I was like let's give this place a try. I was with my little girl and my elder mom. Who were hungry. It was Friday they seem to be a little busy. We were sat down immediately. Took him a few minutes to come and take our drink order. Then it Took a fees mins to bring our drinks. After giving us our drinks said he'll be right back to take our order 15 minutes later server never returned. Or even acknowledging us. As I was leaving an I was upset I told the hostess that we waited for over 15 minutes but no one taken our order or even acknowledging us. The hostess was pretty rude about the situation. But I do have to say there was an employee there not sure what the gentleman does there but came out front and talk to me and tried to convince me to come back in and he was very apologetic I should've got his name because he will be an asset to that place read more

This review is not about the food.. I only get Pizza and that is good. It's about the counter help. Can you order STUPID? I went in a couple weeks ago to get one slice on a paper plate to go. First, they could not find a paper plate. So I said, piece of foil, wax paper, just not in a box because I just want to eat it on the go. Could not figure this out. Then an old man comes out and starts looking for paper plates ranting about where are the paper plates. If this all wasn't stupid enough, while this is going on the dirty, greasy looking girl at the register keeps getting towel whipped by a guy in the back who she said is her cousin so while I am waiting to get this damn slice she's screaming the whole time stop, stop stop. I finally get my slice on a piece of wax paper and run fast. Today, I go in and there is another dirty, greasy looking girl at the register. I tell her I want 3 slices, cold, wrapped in foil, not a box . (I was taking them home for later) She says ummmmm.. I don't know if we have foil to which I respond this is a restaraunt, of course you have foil. So about 5 minutes later she says to me uh, we don't have any pizza, you have to wait for a new pie about 10 minutes. WHAT? SERIOUSLY, YOU HAVE ONE JOB TO DO AND ITS TO SELL PIZZA!. I said I can't wait just give me my money back. Instantaneously a box with 3 HOT slices appear in a BOX. Everyrhing I did not ask for I got. Maybe it's time to put someone besides a 12 year old with no brains at the front. Oh yeah and give them a bar of soap to clean up, too. I can't imagine if I had a hard order. read more

This was my first time eating at Guido's La Pizzeria, (formerly Barone's) in the Peppertree Plaza on Sample and 441. I was not disappointed. I have eaten at their other location (Guido's on Wiles Road in Coral Springs) many times, so I knew what to expect here. The menu seems to offer most of the same choices. The food and service are top notch. This is a quality family run business. Guido and Anna Marie are siblings who grew up in the restaurant business. They have brought their many years of experience to these two classic hometown Italian restaurants. I had the Tour of Italy, and my wife Kathy had the Chicken Francais. The portions are huge and delicious. Definitely enough for two meals. Because of the social distancing rule in effect, we called in our order, and it was ready when we got there. 20 minutes later when we got home, it was still hot. We are glad to be able to support a great, locally owned and operated establishment. I hope that you will too. read more

Sorry to go against the tide, but you'll only receive brutal honesty from me. I dined here with a friend yesterday at the "early bird" hour, 4:30 or so. The garlic rolls were hot and fresh. That's the best thing I can say about our experience. A couple of slices of pizza served as an appetizer. While their pizza is flavorful, it is rather on the oily side, and I recommend that you blot it before eating it, unless you want to go around with a heavy stomach for hours afterwards. The baked clams were abominable. First, the clams weren't fresh: they tasted "off," and one clam didn't taste quite like the other, as if they came from different lots. The breadcrumbs were over-the-top spicy as if in a desperate effort to hide the quasi-rancidity of the shellfish. A gorgonzola salad rounded out the meal. The lettuce was lackluster, and the cheese was extremely cheap. I am quite a bleu cheese fanatic, and this was NOT good gorgonzola. But the biggest slap in the face was the pears that were included in the salad: they came straight out of a Del Monte can or some such, which was obvious from the fact that you could slice them in two with a gentle stroke of the tongue. I sincerely believe La Pizzeria can afford to invest in fresh pears. We were SORELY disappointed. read more

I really can't find much to fault with La Pizzeria. The garlic knots are top-notch. veal and chicken dishes came out beautifully prepared and sauced. The minestrone and pasta fazool was also very good. I have gone there 5 times and they have yet to let me down. Went here last night for the very first time and found the place to be clean and service was ok.however they didn't seem to listen when I asked for them to go easy on the sauce and cheese and my food still had a lot of sauce on it. I ordered the tour of Italy which is supposed to come with meatballs, lasagna , sausage and chicken parmesan. When I got the food there was only one meatball, half a sausage, a 3-4 bite piece of chicken Parmesan and about 2 bites of lasagna so it wasn't a lot of food for $15 I've have had the same thing at olive garden and their portion was a lot bigger. The meal did come with a choice of soup and salad and garlic rolls. I just would of likes a little more food for the money. The food itself was ok tho but I've had better. I just moved to the area and one night after work one of my neighbors saw me in the elevator holding a chain pizzeria box and told me to throw it in the trash because la pizzeria is right down the street and that's real pizza! I took his word and picked up a menu the following week and we ordered take out. We wanted a speciality pizza which wasn't even on the menu and they made it happen flawlessly like they've been making that pizza everyday for the past 30 years. We ended up also dining in one time as well after we tasted how amazing their food is. This is my new favorite Italian spot for take-out and dine-in. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're at a real Italian family dinner. The pizza is second to none in south Florida. You can order by the slice, and they're huge slices, which I love because there's only two of us in my house and we can't always agree on what we're going to eat. I have a whole new love and appreciation for cannolis now. Seriously the best cannoli I've ever had. I have to say the food was better dining in than taking out but still amazing either way! I had the Eggplant Rollatini gourmet Sicilian pizza slices for lunch...out of this world! I hesitated since it was not a regular slice, but the Sicilian pie dough was soft and light, not a heavy dense consistency. A perfect balance to the eggplant and ricotta cheese. This Italian restaurant is excellent... large potions if well made, tasty food made by the owner who I have known since he had the most successful pizza business on the Wildwood NJ boardwalk. The staff is professional and take care you f the customers quickly and with a smile. Delicious pizza by the slice or pick one of the Italian specialties...
