I have to admit that I am a pizza snob. I have tried hundreds and hundreds of pizzerias up and down the East Coast. Recently I moved here from Maryland and have a wonderful time attempting to try different pizzerias in and around Broward County. Without hesitation, I would say that Barone's has the absolute BEST NY STYLE pizza in all of Broward County. There slices are generous sizes. The cheese is appropriately portioned onto the slices (it is not good when there is way too much cheese) - you must be able to see some of the sauce piercing through. The sauce has an absolutely incredible freshness and awesome flavor. So far I have been referring to the thin and crispy NY Style pizza, but I have to tell you that Barone's has converted me to liking the Sicilian thick slices - they are amazing! I have also been here for a "formal" sit down meal on the weekends and it is jam packed. There entrees are incredible and very reasonably priced for what you get. I would recommend the full meal in addition to the incredible pizza slices for lunch or snacks! Everytime I am anywhere around State Road 7 in Margate, you be can be 100% assured that I will be stopping in for a slice. Ask for Ricky and you will get treated extremely nicely (not that others won't, but Ricky takes great pride in providing incredible hospitality to each of his patrons). I just moved to the area and one night after work one of my neighbors saw me in the elevator holding a chain pizzeria box and told me to throw it in the trash because la pizzeria is right down the street and that's real pizza! I took his word and picked up a menu the following week and we ordered take out. We wanted a speciality pizza which wasn't even on the menu and they made it happen flawlessly like they've been making that pizza everyday for the past 30 years. We ended up also dining in one time as well after we tasted how amazing their food is. This is my new favorite Italian spot for take-out and dine-in. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're at a real Italian family dinner. The pizza is second to none in south Florida. You can order by the slice, and they're huge slices, which I love because there's only two of us in my house and we can't always agree on what we're going to eat. I have a whole new love and appreciation for cannolis now. Seriously the best cannoli I've ever had. I have to say the food was better dining in than taking out but still amazing either way! This Italian restaurant is excellent... large potions if well made, tasty food made by the owner who I have known since he had the most successful pizza business on the Wildwood NJ boardwalk. This is our standby for delivery pizza. We also stop in for pick up. The restaurant is casual and the service is always friendly and helpful. The pizza is definitely good. We are very particular about our pizza, so a rating of 7 out of 10 is very high for us. Delivery is reasonably prompt, order takers on phone very polite and efficient, drivers polite. Unfortunately we are not very thrilled by their pasta dishes. My wife had a Shrimp Scampi and felt the shrimp was overcooked and the sauce all wrong, "gloppy". I had Chicken Picatta and it seemed like they used the same sauce and just added lemon and capers. Just not the quality we expected since the pizza is good. We sometimes get the baked clams and find them tasty but unremarkable. read more

Good Italian food. I agree with another yelper, it did go south for a bit. Since the new renovations I've had excellent food and exceptional service for lunch. If I had to make one comment...I would say the red sauce is very good. I actually needed to ask for extra. Other than that it was worth the visit. I used to order pizza from here all time but they started to become stingy with the toppings. Now that I mention it the last pizza I ordered from here had a paper thin crust and very little toppings/sauce on the pizza that's why I stopped ordering from here. It was probably just an off night. Disappointing. I don't understand all the good reviews. Had a large cheese pizza, and it was lacking in taste and flavour, not enough sauce even. For the price I expected a good pizza, but unfortunately I've picked up $5 pizzas from local joints that were tastier. The crust wasn't crunchy and the sauce was tasteless and had an odd smell. The garlic rolls were flat, very small and barely warm. Don't waste your money, find something better. read more

We got delivery, meat lovers pizza with bacon. The meats were delicious crispy and high quality. Crust however was a not fluffy and crispy more heavy and soggy, I'm assuming from sitting while on delivery and with the weight of the toppings. I'm thinking it would be better if ordered and eaten at the restaurant. However it was very tasty and full of flavor, and still way better than your chain pizza places. now this place I have to admit I'm very impressed with. I never heard of it before. We got it as the recommended place from a friend. When we got there, there was plenty of parking, the restaurant was very clean, we were greeted nicely, we got a booth that we wanted and there were even three TVs to watch the basketball game. to start, with garlic knots then were delicious salad or soup of course and then although most Italian places have the same exact items this one was a little different because I felt like it had more. on the menu they had something called tour of Italy and tour of Sicily which comes with samples of ravioli manicotti chicken parm at cetera so I thought that was pretty cool I ate chicken franchese and I think it was the best I've ever had, even better than Bella Roma and that's my number one right now. My boyfriend had chicken parm and he really loved it as well. this was a really great place and we will definitely go back it was affordable as well. read more

Dined there last night. Been there many times in the past, always found the food great. We ordered the Calamari, they changed the way it is prepared, made with some horrible breading, could tell it was pre -packaged. I ordered the Ziti with Broccoli, with Chicken, The chicken has some horrible coating on it, was tasteless and had the texture of a Chicken Nugget. Those at the table agreed. It was infidelity not fresh chicken, but rather processed. I guess from now on, I will stick to ordering pizza only and no dinners anymore, Looks like they are going int he direction of serving cheaper quality foods for the same prices,,, read more

The staff was really friendly and patient to explain the menu and different pizza slices on display. I was surprised they had slices at dinner, and the pizzas were delicious and very reasonably priced. I had the chicken broccoli Alfredo and a slice of Grandmas home made sauce and fresh mozzarella.
