Family owned Salvadoran restaurant. Pupusas were delicious and very friendly service. Small restaurant but food and service makes up for it! Definitely recommend.

Hands down best pupusas in town !! Pupusas are pricy at $2.50 each but I don't mind paying for the quality!! The pupusas here are STUFFED and the taste is authentic. Not to compare with other places but I rather pay $2.50 for a pupusa here than somewhere where I'm getting more flour than filling. Con:~ it's not a con but I just thought I should post it for anyone who is meticulous about restaurant appearances. The place is very small and outdated. Seems like they haven't put any remodeling work since opening .

Before ordering a drink ask for the price? Menu says $2.50 but the real cost is $5.00 plus tax

I was just hungry and stop at this place, Their menu has the wrong price, I order I drink which the menu has a price of $2.50 but when I had to paid they were charging me $5.00 taxes ( the drink was musty ice ) I found ridiculous to paid $5.00 for just a drink... Just be make sure about their prices before you order anything that way you aren't over charge.

We didn't like our dishes at all!

Be adventurous. Go. Live a little. Feel like an explorer. Pat yourself on the back for trying something new in a foreign land. Seriously, it's like stepping into another country. The low ceiling feel of the place, the colors, the telenovela on the TV, the near total language gap (my Spanish is not as adequate as I need it to be it seems!) and the amazing authentic Salvadorian food. Pupusas. Lovely, light corn tortillas sandwiching some very happy fillings like the cheese and loroco I had. The white cheese is melted around these lovely loroco greens...like spinach or beet greens.Tasty yummy. Cover the pupusa in the curtido - cool, briny cabbage slaw that comes in a big bowl. I'm sure you can eat it like a side but on top of the pupusa it is divine! The wife and I both got the combo plate with the pupusa and a tamale. I want my next birthday cake to be made of the masa they use to make their tamales. It was like wedding cake it was so light but had that amazing corn meal taste. You also get some pureed beans...yes, pureed. And really good rice. That light yellow rice cooked in great broth. I could have made a meal out of the beans and rice. There is that language gap thing. But the menu is written in both Spanish and English and if all else fails just point. Our waitress was terrific with a little sign language, laughter and broken Spanish and English from both sides we managed to make it all work! My wife speaks better Spanish than I. In her practiced Spanish she told the nice waitress "I'm sorry, my Spanish is very poor" the minute we sat down. From there on it was our broken Spanish and her pointing to the menu that got us through. We had a couple Salvadoran beers apiece and got out for around $35 with tip.

5 stars - delicious, quick, and super cheap. Salsa is a little spicy but so perfect! Will definitely be coming back

I went here with a group of friends during their happy hour, they do have complementary valet…read moreparking which was great because it's so easy to get overwhelmed in that area around that time on a Friday night. Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

The food was under average. 2 of us had the Tilipia dish and the flavor was good but it was super salty. If the chef cut down on the salt it would be excellent. The vegetables on the dish were nice. We couldn't eat the fish even though we asked for extra lime so we can squeeze on it. The shrimps dish was over cooked so the shrimps were too dry. The steaks were barely OK But the appertizers were good. We had pupusas and the plaintain Service was nice but we had to flag down the manager since our server was no where to be seen.

I'll start by saying that the service there was great. The lady taking our order was really…read morefriendly. She answered my questions and was helpful with ordering. I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

New favorite coffee/study spot in Houston! This place is (I…read morethink?) in Montrose area, and a gem with parking both in front (with spaces) and street parking available. The baristas/servers are so friendly, and the shop truly feels homey. Perfection for studying, with inside ample tables/chairs with nearby outlets as well as some comfy chairs and a couch. There's also a cute covered outside area which I'm sure I'll experience post summer time. They have a few yummy looking food options at a great price point - including tamales and baked pastries. I picked the chicken tamale as a light lunch - I got the most delicious chicken tamale I've had thus far, served with kettle crinkle chips and a tamale sauce to dip. There are many coffee/non coffee options. I opted for the iced horchata latte - agree with prior reviewers that this is delish. It is not too sweet and a great blend of vanilla and cinnamon that masks the espresso. The atmosphere here is cozy but focused, with a mixture of people working/studying and hanging out. 10/10 will be back.

It is in a home-like structure with quirky furniture, but it makes me feel very much at home. The workers are also super nice and accommodating. The coffee is very reasonably priced and delicious. I always get their Horchata Latte---it is a perfect level of sweetness and the cinnamon complements the espresso perfectly (and it's only $5.50)! They have a variety of other drinks and pastries too, that I haven't been able to try. I highly recommend coming to study/catch up with a friend. There's a lot of coffee shops in the Montrose area but this has been one of my favorite.
