While the name of the restaurant might not be particularly imaginative, this neighborhood Salvadoran eatery certainly delivers with a variety of piping-hot pupusas (and when I say piping hot, my goodness do they come out hot - use the accompanying curtido - a slaw - to regulate the temperature in your mouth). The plantains with cream are a delicious accompaniment. I also tried a chicken tamale but was a bit underwhelmed - I'll stick with the pupusas and plantains.

This is truly authentic and original food. You wouldn't know you weren't in the country have food in a cafe there, if you hadn't walked in off the streets of Houston.

Good and filling food. I recommend trying the pupusa here. The pastelitos is also good. Tamale de pollo is ok. Make sure to try their refresco. This place can become a regular if I live in the area.

One of my friends kept talking about the amazing fresco de cebada he had here, so after driving through the area, I decided to stop by here for a quick snack. Loroco Pupusa - 4/5 The Loroco kind of tasted like artichoke, which was pleasantly surprising. The pupusa dough was nice and soft but was also pretty dense. However, the flavors of this pupusa paled in comparison to the pork, bean, and cheese pupusa. Pork, Bean, and Cheese Pupusa - 5/5 This pupusa was my favorite of the two kinds I got; I wish I ordered more of this one! The filling was so flavorful, and you could taste each of the three ingredients inside. The exterior is super unassuming, with just a sign on their building titled "Pupusa". The interior was nice and clean, and the man at the cashier was super friendly. We asked him if they still served the drink (fresco de cebada) here, and he confirmed and even let us sample some for no charge! The food was very inexpensive ($5 for 3 pupusas) and delicious, and it came with dipping sauces and cabbage salad. Will definitely come again soon to try more of their drink selections and to get more of my favorite pupusas.

Great taste and fast service most of the time. It does get busy during lunch, so keep that in mind. Definitely worth it.

Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

The food was under average. 2 of us had the Tilipia dish and the flavor was good but it was super salty. If the chef cut down on the salt it would be excellent. The vegetables on the dish were nice. We couldn't eat the fish even though we asked for extra lime so we can squeeze on it. The shrimps dish was over cooked so the shrimps were too dry. The steaks were barely OK But the appertizers were good. We had pupusas and the plaintain Service was nice but we had to flag down the manager since our server was no where to be seen.

I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

New favorite coffee/study spot in Houston! This place is (I…read morethink?) in Montrose area, and a gem with parking both in front (with spaces) and street parking available. The baristas/servers are so friendly, and the shop truly feels homey. Perfection for studying, with inside ample tables/chairs with nearby outlets as well as some comfy chairs and a couch. There's also a cute covered outside area which I'm sure I'll experience post summer time. They have a few yummy looking food options at a great price point - including tamales and baked pastries. I picked the chicken tamale as a light lunch - I got the most delicious chicken tamale I've had thus far, served with kettle crinkle chips and a tamale sauce to dip. There are many coffee/non coffee options. I opted for the iced horchata latte - agree with prior reviewers that this is delish. It is not too sweet and a great blend of vanilla and cinnamon that masks the espresso. The atmosphere here is cozy but focused, with a mixture of people working/studying and hanging out. 10/10 will be back.

I always get their Horchata Latte---it is a perfect level of sweetness and the cinnamon complements the espresso perfectly (and it's only $5.50)! They have a variety of other drinks and pastries too, that I haven't been able to try. I highly recommend coming to study/catch up with a friend.
