Went to pick up an Uber Eats pick up order for myself for lunch. Got a chicken and a mushroom pupusa. Very ethnic and homie interior. Very nice gentleman (presumably the owner) greeter me and let me know that my order wasn't quite ready because they were actually making it from scratch and not reheating it. I had to take a call and went back to my car and was going to return to get it in 5min. While on my call I see the same gentleman who greeted me coming outside and towards my car. DELICIOUS pupusas!!! Definitely the best I've had in Florida so far! Especially as a vegetarian with a dairy allergy. This is the first place I've come across with so many vegetarian filling options and will happily make them without cheese. This is a perfect place to go for a quick tasty snack. We were in Lake Placid and I was excited to see this place. I love pupusas which are corn like pancakes filled with your choice of yummy ingredients. We chose a potato and cheese and a chicken and cheese. They are so good especially with the traditional Cole slaw it's served with. We sat outside under the shade and this snack kept us full for quite some time when we were out and about. What a fantastic experience we had celebrating my husband's birthday, which I had forgotten. We popped in last minute and were treated like royalty. The dining room is clean, definitely feels like Argentina with the family atmosphere, , beautiful desserts, colorful art and plantings. We had the best fish tacos and steak. Two years ago I loved this place but the last two times I ordered I was disappointed. Both meals the rice and even the beans had NO FLAVOR it's like they forgot all the cumin , garlic and salt that make black beans great. I got the grilled pork chop last time . It looked and smelled wonderful ! I was so hungry and had it dashed to me. When I started eating the pork chop it had the weirdest CHEWY texture almost like I was eating a pork steak with a lot of fat through it. I am usually someone who will eat it anyway but I wanted to gag by the 3rd bite. Idk if they changed who they get their meat from or what. So I'm like ok at least there the beans and rice.... But I order cilantro rice and both rice and beans and no seasoning. I've had cilantro rice and the cilantro should be able to be tastes. It was like an after taste. And that meal was like $17.99 (not DoorDash of course). Since this was the second time the meal was sub par, I moved on to other places. read more

The service was handled by two people it seems but it was well organized and it's get packed for lunch time! You can definitely order to go or call them ahead and you can have your order picked up. My husband and I are from Miami so we were visiting the town and decided to try this place! You can sit wherever you like and they come and take your order. The young gentleman that took our order was very active and kind. He made sure our food came timely. The pupusas were delicious and freshly made! The restaurant is very inviting and small. There's a flat screen so you can watch tv or the World Cup while eating as we were. It's very bright and it gives the vibe of El Salvador. There's parking in the small shopping center and some in the back of it, so there's room to park. We picked up takeout while in the area visiting family. The owner was super friendly and ready to answer any questions. We split several papusas as well as an order of tostones and guacamole. Their guacamole is a very generous amount and was one of the best we've ever had. The papusas and he accompanying slaw and sauces were delicious. We each tried the pupusas (revuelta and chicken/cheese). We ordered the breaded chicken and grilled chicken w/ onions. Both meals were served with rice,black beans and sweet plantains. This El Salvadorian Restaurant in downtown Lake Placid is sensational. The Pupusas are scrumptious and come in a variety of fillings. I also ordered the dinner platter of Milanesa de Res Empanizado which is a thin steak encrusted in a seasoned crumb batter, with cilantro rice and Frijoles and sweet plantains. It was absolutely delicious and very generously portioned. I ordered this time for takeout but will make a point to eat in the next time. And yes, there will be a next time.
