We have been to Maria's Pupusas & Tacos twice and really enjoy it. They are very nice and helpful here. Their place is nicely decorated with decs from Salvador. This last visit I ordered a pupusa and fried fish(mojarra frita) and my hubby ordered a burrito. These are very flavorful and very big servings. We both enjoyed our food and will definitely come back.

Food: Salvadorian - if you like Mexican, you'll love it. Great value for $ (3 adults WELL FED for ~$80) Service: Attentive staff- promptly seated/routinely checked on) Ambiance: Well lit eatery - not a romantic location but clean and with a small TV to watch the game

We tried this place we find on yelp and had great reviews. First it is very cute inside and you are welcome right as you walk inside . I wanted to try pupusas and sopes that I have never tried before . I got a steak sope and it was just delicious , so were the pupusas . The food is excellent! The service is great ! The prices are also great for the quality of the food ! Definitely worth every penny ! Can't wait to go back soon !

This place is the perfect place for dining. We were welcomed warmly and picked our own table. The server was polite and helpful whenever we made requests. We only had to wait like 5 minutes and our food was already out. Most importantly, it's so good! The pupusas are amazing (especially the spinach pupusa!)and we finished all our plates! I'd definitely recommend that you eat here, it's worth your money

Was in the area around 5:30 and wanted to avoid traffic on the way home east and found this place on Yelp. We hadn't had pupusas for years and were impressed with the great reviews. They were not wrong! Husband got 3 pupusas- cheese, cheese with chicharones, and the combination. They were great- and the cole slaw was out of this world. I got the Salvadorian chicken sandwich and it was huge and delicious- shredded chicken with pickled veggies, a hard boiled egg, tomato and cole slaw. And a dipping sauce that was more like a delicious beef soup which was so good I wanted to drink it! Service was friendly and quick, the place was bright and clean, and the prices were incredibly low for the quality and amount of food!

I really enjoy the food here, and the prices are great, so it's disappointing to leave this rating. I've been here a few times, but this visit left a bad impression. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged $1.98 for a bottled water I didn't order. When I asked about it, the cashier, Jose, first said it was for ice. When my wife asked for clarification, he changed his answer, saying it was for filtered tap water--$1.00 for the water and $0.98 for tax. The food is excellent, but be sure to check your bill before paying. Unfortunately, it seems like overcharging customers is acceptable here.

Next to pupusas, soup and other Salvadoran foods, they have sandwiches, breakfasts and other menu items that would be more at home on a diner menu than a Salvadoran restaurant menu. Since I am pretty much obsessed with pupusas, I went with three pupusas. They were fairly priced at three dollars a piece. The ordering process is relatively straightforward. You go to the counter and place your order. When it is ready, they bring it to your table. My pupusas were brought to me with the expected slaw and sauce. I find that the best pupusas that I have had here in this country were in Nashville, Tennessee and I found some great pupusas at a flea market on Orange Blossom Trail here in Orlando, Florida, but comparing it to other pupusas that I have tried here in Orlando (other than the ones at the OBT Flea Market), they were good. Not great, not the type that would haunt my dreams, but good. If you are looking for a local place, this place is not a bad place. Not great, but overall decent. Overall, I will give it four stars.

At the end, one lady came with a portable card reader without even bringing a bill first -- she just said 'it's $93.' When we asked for the check, they took a long time to come back. When she finally did, she gave us $5 back saying she had overcharged for the pupusas. However, after reviewing the prices listed on the menu, the total was still incorrect. I pointed it out, and she admitted the system prices are different and not updated to match the menu, but said she couldn't do anything about it. I reminded her they should honor menu prices, but she simply said 'yes, but I can't.' Very unprofessional and honestly felt sneaky. We will not be returning. Make sure to double-check your bill carefully! No volveremos. Asegúrese de revisar bien su cuenta antes de pagar.

Everything I had was super flavorful and the prices are very reasonable. I had a port tamale. It was unusual in that it was bone in, but it was the best and msot flavorful tamale I've ever had. Just pure goodness. The tamale "pisque" is black bean filled. It's kind of an unusual flavor. There are lots of traditional dishes from El Salvador here like fried yucca which is actually fried yucca with fried pork pieces. They also have some agua fresca type beverages like horchata as well as hot drinks like Atol de Elote which is a corn based hot beverage. They also have Atol de Pin(y)a which is a pineapple version. I've been to Pupuseria Centro Americana and for me this place is ten times better. It's UBER casual Acapulco Grocery style eatery in a grocery store with several tables and a tv. The checkout lady was very nice and helpful and spoke English. Fellow customers are also friendly and happy to share their culture. The cooks who work at the hot food / bakery area and counter no hablan ingles. While you're here you can pick up some tasty snacks, unusual sodas, frozen tropical fruit pulps (hello smoothies!!!) and other goodies. This place rocks. The bakery items are only $1 each, no joke, so try one of everything. :) :) :) Gracias a Dios!!!!!
