I was able to sleep here all night each night. The noise level is subdued, the a/c sound is constant instead of varying, and the bed is fine. The internet is free but low quality. The reason I gave this hotel a two star is because my room 318 smell like wet carpet and mold and the breakfast bar wasn't inviting waffles sausage one type of cereal that only thing that was served both days Saturday and Sunday but good thing about this hotel was the night staff when we checked in she was great and the morning staff he was great also one of the cleanup person.the lady who replace the towels She was very nice as well. read more

This hotel needs a LOT of work - broken doors, broken tiles, plumbing issues, paint is a mess. Had to move rooms due to plumbing issues. Immediately checked the second room for bed buds (there were none). A/C was super loud. I guess that is their version of white noise. Breakfast was fine. They had waffles so my hubby was happy. Limited selection of items. Bird droppings all over the windows from the many, many mud bird nests on the outside of the hotel. Hot tub was cemented over and the pool was an interesting shade of green Needless to say, we did not go swimming. The cabinet in the room looked like it had water damage and needed to be replaced. Bathroom was fine and they did provide plenty of towels. Will not stay here again! read more

This is a very interesting hotel - not in the best way a hotel should be deemed as interesting for. The first and most obvious complaint most people may encounter is at the front lobby/valet area with the bird nests. These nests are an eye sore, hygienic hazard, and distracting with all of the birds flying in and out. The hotel itself was quite old and needs remodeling. There are stains on the walls of old paint: both in the lobby and rooms. The elevators are loud. And breakfast was not served inconveniently at any of our time while staying. read more

A lot of wear and tear on the building that is evident repairs and pride appearance are not a priority. The website said breakfast served and that was false. No store in lobby to get snacks and you have to leave the property to a station around the corner with a poor selection of items. I have stayed in better LaQuintas and disappointed with this stay. The beds were clean, soft and very comfortable. The air conditioning was easy to control and it was quick to cool down. The room we stayed in had a fridge, microwave and a TV. The bathroom was a great size and well kept. There was also a coffee maker inside. Overall this hotel was great, and I would stay here again. read more

This place doesn't even deserve any stars. The place is disgusting and dirty and smells of mold. Bed bugs and roaches crawling on the floors throughout the hotel. Housekeeping is a nightmare and never cleans the room. Stains on floors and walls. No breakfast which is probably a good things due to unhealthy eating conditions. DON'T STAY even if it's free. The last night we slept in our car after killing multiple roaches in our room. Front desk was no help and never refunded our money for the last night. Only had one trash basket in the room-nothing by the desk. Very rundown. Disgusting. Being run down is one thing. Having terrible service is quite another. One of my co-workers called this hotel repeatedly to confirm credit card info and no one picked up all day. When I arrived, on in the evening of 2-22-21 I asked the receptionist to call my co-worker. She down right refused saying, "That's one thing I'm not doing today." Another night, the receptionist, Essence, informed me they don't have batteries, but because my room's tv remote didn't work, she'd bring up a different one. She never showed up. I called back a couple hours later. Before I could say what I needed, she put me on hold by placing the phone receiver on the counter where I could hear her conversation as she flirted with one of the guests who hung around the front desk. When I it became clear that she was not going to stop flirting and do her job, I decided to hang up and call back. She picked up the phone and the hung up right away. Furious I called back and she finally picked up. I asked her about the other remote. She gave a great sigh into the phone like it's such an inconvenience for her to have to do her job and said she would be up. Eventually she knocked and exchanged the remote. Barely anyone around at the front desk. I heard guests shouting, "Hello?! Hello??! Hello?!?!" while trying to get service. The owners should be embarrassed and ashamed. There was a huge roach on the floor, no hot water, customer service was trashed as soon as I walked in. The only good thing I could think of, and also the reason why they got two stars & not one, is because the bed was comfortable. I also went downstairs to get ice from the ice machine, which I also want to throw in that's usually there on every floor in other hotels, & it didn't work. Over charged, because they are next to the base, to sleep in roach infested rooms with no hot water. I was better off going to motel 6 next door..... damn shame. read more

First let me say, Christina (front desk attendant) was excellent. She was friendly, patient, and funny . Now the reason I won't be returning.... The management at this property accepts cleaning standards that aren't up to par. I had to switched to 3 different rooms because the bathrooms were filthy. There was soap scum all over the glass shower doors in room one and two. The third room didn't have shower doors however the shower head, etc were disgusting. I was told management doesn't allow the cleaning staff to use the best products for cleaning the rooms/bathrooms hence the reason the showers/tubs are dirty and/or have soap scum/residue on them. There are roaches in some of the rooms. Animal hair litters the rooms, almost every crevice of them. Poop from people's pets is all over the grass and even on the sidewalks sometimes. There are bedbugs in some of the rooms. There is no breakfast. The pool is full of nasty black mold. There are tons of rooms that are missing lightbulbs and outlet covers. There is mold in most of the rooms. The air conditioning hardly works in the rooms or even the hallway. The front door is left open allowing bugs and animals inside. There are stains in all the carpet. The whole place smells musty. The manager had federally protected bird nests destroyed. The manager gets angry, calls people idiots and curses out loud, shouting sometimes. The place is rundown and disgusting and is nowhere NEAR worth the money spent. You'll have much better luck staying at a different hotel. They are apparently too broke to afford to fix anything, because I have stayed here twice and both times nothing was done about my moldy closet, the bugs I saw and complained about, I couldn't enjoy breakfast with my family, or even go for a dip in the pool. The place is filthy, should be condemned, and should have a professional manager hired to replace the person that they have running the place currently. Maybe they'll be able to whip the place into shape for some other poor soul that thinks spending money here is a good idea. read more

Horrible musty moldy smell in entire hotel!! Elevators trapped my husband on our first time using! Not a great start to what was going to be a week stay! First night we just went in got settled and left to visit family in the area! After returning my husband took a shower and the bathtub drain allowed water to fill up in tub so you were standing in water, no pressure to properly shower and no hot water! Floors in room were horrible wet and moldy! I made the mistake of walking on them with no shoes!! Air quality was poor so I checked filters and will attach picture for you to see that this hotel is VERY VERY VERY FILTHY!! Found bugs on the walls, blow dryer vent was full of hair and lent, bed skirting was horrible! Mattresses are horrible! This hotel needs to be shut down and renovated! They are working on first floor but it doesn't look like they are making much progress!! This hotel should not be open for business!! The manager if that's what you would call him Ral is rude and should not be allowed to talk to customers!! Holding 800.00 dollars on our account!!! Moved us to a second room just as bad or worse and wanted to charge us more processed another charge from first one and charged us again! Can take up to 10 days to release!! This is unacceptable!!! Please do not stay in this hotel till they fix it! This is no way what most LaQuinta Hotels are like!! The room we got matched what we reserved through the Hotels app. Decent, clean and decent value for the rate I got. However, my compliments stop here. It seemed like this La Quinta focused on the curb appeal and basics while neglecting the details that would differentiate it from its competitors. For example, I chose this hotel because it had a pool which was a motivational factory for my 6 year old son. Well, after a four hour drive from New Orleans to take care of some business here, we found out that the pool was closed. Add the lame excuse that the maintenance guy was too busy setting up the new building nearby to actually do any *maintenance* on the pool. There's just ONE maintenance person on site in charge of all up keep of the facility? This sort of "doing the bare minimum" mentality send to be the common denominator for a lot of lodging establishments near military posts. As so long as they get guaranteed government funded revenues, they don't seem to really care about the little things. Had there been some notice about the pool being out of service, I would've appreciated the honesty up front. TRY HARDER! read more

I told the front desk ppl many times to please clean my room, and they still skipped it a couple of days. I called for room service to the front desk requesting for towels and wash clothes and was advised to come down, what's the purpose of this?! Secondly the hotel smells like straight cigarettes, the bathroom and furniture all look old and dirty. They advertise a convenient store but it's not operating, nor is the elevators in this place. There was a huge water leak that had to be navigated around in order to get to the entrance. There was trash overflowing the containers outside. No doggie poop bags in the dispenser outside. There was trash outside such as old AC parts. Our room was on the third floor and the hallways STUNK of mold. Our room had a mixture of mold and a heavy dose of air freshener. I woke up with a stuffed nose and headache. When I mentioned this to the lady at checkout, she flatly said, I'll tell the manager with no concern for my comfort or wellbeing. L @laquinta -Just a word of advice... when a customer at your hotel literally falls through the floor of their room at midnight, the last thing they want to hear from the dayshift manager the next morning is how hard it is to open the room door back up so we can continue to move our stuff out. The fact that the desk clerk on duty the night before mentions that they have another room down the hall with the whole entryway collapsed into the crawl space from a previous incident that still hasn't been fixed indicates this is a known condition with your building yet you continue to rent unsafe rooms out instead of fixing the issue. Pretty bold move with today's litigious society. Day guy- You bellyaching on how much of an inconvenience it is and how hard it is for you to unlock that door so we can continue to get our stuff out the next morning instead of having to move it last night at midnight (while you were sleeping comfortably I might add) is not really what we want to hear right now. Failing to offer any assistance and demanding we complete the task within 15 minutes or "the door will automatically relock for good" is also not what we need to hear right now. The fact that you're working dayshift and want to talk about what "should'a, could'a, ought'a" happened at midnight last night when incident happened is, again, not what people want to hear from your well rested ass the next morning. I have to downgrade my experience at this hotel. I have stayed three times here, all related to my son stationed at Fort Polk. I inadvertently forgot two jackets in my room upon checkout during this latest trip in July 2019, and did not discover them missing until hours and several hundred highway miles later. I spoke with a lady there, Shiela or Shirley-I forget now, and she got the jackets and told me they would be held until a soldier in my son's unit came for them. She was extremely nice about it all. It took a few days for my son to get there instead and alas, only one of the two jackets was there. Since they were held in the hotel office I presume that an employee decided that the lightweight rain jacket would suit their needs. I consider it stolen by that person. The rain jacket has unique markings on it that are impossible to obtain except by this thievery. So if you're around Leesville and see a person wearing a lightweight, black rain jacket with "Golden Gate Fields" markings then don't trust them as they are a thief! And for goodness sakes don't make a mistake and leave anything behind in your room when you check out. read more

One of best hotels I've stayed in! Just two years old, they have an actual breakfast that has more than pastries and coffee. The eggs and waffles were great! Pet friendly, not a lot of hotels of this caliber are. The only negatives I can say about it were the low water pressure showers and the hot tub jets not working, but it was still hot! read more

I have had nothing but a great experience at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and housekeeping has been awesome. They check on us everyday and they make sure we have what we need. My kids enjoy the breakfast every morning and the breakfast bar host are all super friendly. This is a pet friendly hotel and is very clean. We stayed on the third floor and it always had someone cleaning the area daily. I can only say that I love great customer service. I am thinking about filling out an application to work here. This place delivers great customer service and a nice atmosphere to be in if you have to be without a house for a while. read more

My family stays here when the come to visit and both times they found roaches in their room and instead of the hotel doing something about the problem they just refund one night of stay and move their room. They will not be staying there again it's unsanitary. read more

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. We stayed for three nights. Ants infested our bathroom and got all over my husband's clothes and shoes. He put on a shirt and they immediately bit him all over his body. We changed rooms and the 2nd room neighbored a room with a yapping dog. They moved us rooms again, but the whole process took up the entire evening with moving everything to different floors. Honestly they should've compensated with at least a free night but the manager only gave us 10% off one night. The floors were DISGUSTING! My daughter walked barefoot on the carpet for less than and hour and her feet were black on the bottom. There was a dead cockroach in my mother in law's room, along with water damage and what looked like black mold on the curtains. The side door to the hotel is zip tied to be unlocked 24/7. So no key is required to enter. I will definitely be contacting the company. This is unacceptable. read more

Last year when we tried to stay here we had to check out the first night because of the overpowering mold issues. They had the roof and other parts of the building exposed and torn apart so we hoped it would be fixed by now. Back again and in the building for less than 5 min and already about to have an asthma attack. Not staying here, once again! No I'm not that asthmatic, this hotel is actually that bad. This hotel must have terrible management. Housekeeping is terrible. My shower door is covered in grime. There was hair ( not from someone's head) in the shower. The sink was filthy and the room had a general feeling of not being clean. There is a smell throughout the hotel. At first it smelled like pine, but after more time, I think it's more of a chemical scent. There is a gap between my window and the dry wall. Below the gap is some sort of nasty black clumps. Not sure what it is but it looks disgusting. There are drip marks running down the window from whatever it is and those drip marks are also on the curtains. There is an overall lack of pride in this establishment. The Internet is terrible. Tried streaming a movie but the internet made the movie freeze constantly. The staff is friendly but without proper leadership, they are letting this place become a terrible hotel. I think I am going to call corporate and complain. Location is excellent if you're heading for Fort Polk and want to be close to restaurants too. My room was clean, roomy, and extremely comfortable, with softer bed linens that usually come at this room rate. Front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The free breakfast has all the basics--eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles, bread, biscuits, muffins, cereals, juice, coffee. I'll definitely stay here when I come back to Fort Polk. read more

We were stuck in a hotel for 2 weeks while waiting for a house on post. The staff was always very friendly and house keeping was very accommodating when it came to requests like extra towels, blankets, etc. Breakfast each morning was great; cereal, muffins, yogurt, coffee, eggs. Nothing super fabulous, but it was nice not to have to worry about eating only fast food while "living" in the hotel. We had a mini-fridge and microwave in our room which was a super plus :) We were there in February 2013 and the hotel itself was fairly new. Everything even had the "new smell" to it, which was great. Also, being able to have our 2 dogs with us was amazing. Only complaint was that other pet owners did not clean up after their animals outside (come on people, the hotel even provided little baggies and a garbage can...) and a couple of the nights there was a dog on our floor that barked NON-STOP. I would definitely use this hotel in the future if need be. read more
