Bird nests and feces covering the lobby entrance walkway
    Brandon T.

This is a very interesting hotel - not in the best way a hotel should be deemed as interesting for. The first and most obvious complaint most people may encounter is at the front lobby/valet area with the bird nests. These nests are an eye sore, hygienic hazard, and distracting with all of the birds flying in and out. The hotel itself was quite old and needs remodeling. There are stains on the walls of old paint: both in the lobby and rooms. The elevators are loud. And breakfast was not served inconveniently at any of our time while staying.

This was by far the most DISGUSTING hotel I have ever seen. Issues listed below. Trust me - stay somewhere else! 1. Birds are nesting by the front entrance and poop on guests. 2. The swimming pool is brown and cloudy. 3. No breakfast, not that I could eat it there. 4. No coffee available downstairs. 5. One coffee in the room. 6. No unsweetened creamer except in the room which was so old it was a ball of caked goo. 7. The A/C was loud and disrupted sleep all night. 8. No fan in the bathroom. 9. Disgusting shower doors. 10. Moldy walls, doors, ceilings. 11. Shower never warmed. 12. Horrendous smell when you walk in. 13. Filthy, gooey carpet. 14. Gardener threw grass clippings all over my clean car. 15. COCKROACHES!

There was a huge roach on the floor, no hot water, customer service was trashed as soon as I walked in. The only good thing I could think of, and also the reason why they got two stars & not one, is because the bed was comfortable. I also went downstairs to get ice from the ice machine, which I also want to throw in that's usually there on every floor in other hotels, & it didn't work. Over charged, because they are next to the base, to sleep in roach infested rooms with no hot water. I was better off going to motel 6 next door..... damn shame.

Water couldn't even come out properly because of the amount of residue on the shower head.

First let me say, Christina (front desk attendant) was excellent. She was friendly, patient, and funny . Now the reason I won't be returning.... The management at this property accepts cleaning standards that aren't up to par. I had to switched to 3 different rooms because the bathrooms were filthy. There was soap scum all over the glass shower doors in room one and two. The third room didn't have shower doors however the shower head, etc were disgusting. I was told management doesn't allow the cleaning staff to use the best products for cleaning the rooms/bathrooms hence the reason the showers/tubs are dirty and/or have soap scum/residue on them. Management was supposed to contact me but never did.

    Pressure and no hot water!!

Great location for tdy stuff to fort Polk. Only thing I didn't like was that they don't have the form to go tax exempt for military orders.

The lobby, front desk staff and breakfast area are all great. Very friendly staff. Breakfast area is clean with a good layout and furniture. Typical continental breakfast, a lot of options, but you get what you expect in terms of generic 'scrambled eggs' and flimsy greasy bacon. Everything was in good working order though. The low star rating is because of my room. Leftover trash in various spots around my room. The bathroom was extremely dated and worn. The shower 'shelf' normally available for bar soap was missing and the scare on the wall was evident. The bar soap is the smallest soap I have ever scene. I have low expectations when staying at IHG properties these days and knew coming to this small town that is a military fueled region would likely provide low overall standards. Again, the staff was amazing, just wish they would invest in some upgrading for the rooms.

The Hampton in which is 50 meters up the road who is owned by the same person does not offer CTRs the GOV rate. Just look at the Stars for the IHG vs the Hampton Inn in Leesville and you can see a clear difference. The owner needs to start taking care of his customers if he wants to keep them. Yes there are limited places to stay in SLeesville and typically CTRs typically want to keep their Hilton Honors or Marriott Points. But if you want to be treated like a customer I would recommend this IHG. Cleaner, nicer staff, and they give the GOV rate.

The truth is that I had heard the stories from previous years of the shenanigans that happened in the barracks so I booked myself a hotel room. I had luck with Comfort Suites in the past so here is where I chose. This hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There was also food offered in the evenings and breakfast in the morning free of charge. In the evening the food was jambalaya and the morning was the typical free breakfast at business travel hotels. If you find yourself in Leesville and don't want to stay in the barracks with a bunch of assclowns, Comfort Suites should be on your radar.

Housekeeping staff were understanding and assisted me with cleanup (yes, I know it's their job but to clean up after 9 teenage girls isn't in their job description). The buffet style continental breakfast was great as well. Indoor pool facility was wonderful. Really no complaints at all.

I rarely travel to Leesville, but when I have, I would much prefer to stay in a hotel rather than where work books for me. The last time I was there, I stayed in a Comfort Suites that I am not sure even exists anymore. I searched high and low, and this Hampton is the only chain hotel name that I recognized. Since I prefer Marriott properties and find them very consistent, I chose this location. The reviews scared me a little, but I said what the hell? After my stay, I say what the hell indeed! A few weeks before my stay, I received a concerning phone call. Apparently, their elevator was out of service, and they wanted me to know. It is pretty odd that an elevator would be out for an extended time, but I guess they knew more than they let on. I figured I would ask for a ground-floor room, but nope, all full. The second floor is the best we can do. Upon arrival very late in the evening, I was a little sketched out driving between the car dealership and what appeared to be a sketchy apartment complex. There was a couple making out furiously at the back of a car without a care in the world, so I guess it was safer than it looked. I entered a hotel that was definitely under some sort of renovation or something. The clerk was very nice and said she had no clue when the elevator would be fixed. No worries. My room was on the second floor, and my bag only weighed about 50 pounds. Imagine my surprise when I went to check out the room and discovered there was no hand soap. I went to the front desk, and she told me they were awaiting a delivery and she would try to find me a bar. She did, and back to the room I went. I should mention that there were about six old AC units in the stairway stacked on top of one another. Weird. The room was relatively large and decently set up. There was no wifi because why would there be? Apparently, there was some unknown issue with it, too, according to the clerk. There was much weirdness in this place. For example, the door to the parking lot that remains locked 24/7, and you need to use your key to enter? Unlocked 24/7. What else? The biggest weirdness was that my door had to be pulled shut to lock. I noticed this on my first time in the room. You would think the housekeeping people would know that too. Nope. One day, I returned to my room around 8 pm only to find the door closed but not all the way. It had been unlocked all day! I searched through my things, and it did not appear that anything was missing, but what in the actual hell, Hampton? When I mentioned it to the clerk the next day, they seemed unsurprised. I am hopeful this place gets it together. If you have to stay in Leesville, you may end up here. Check your door and bring your own soap.
