I generally don't enjoy crunchy / textured foods but my friend quite enjoyed the puffed rice addition of this dish. The chicken had a unique flavor, unlike anything I've had before. It was solid. Their Chow Mein is another dish that they're known for. I seem to prefer noodles over rice these days. (But, I'm generally disappointed with most places noodles.) These were SUPERB! They had a smoky flavor to them and were a 10/10. I've had Thali but never a Thakali. While similar, they are different; We chose the mutton option. Walking in, the space is mostly kitchen, with no seating (under COVID conditions). In addition to TV screens hanging from the ceiling, there is a large menu on the wall with (I'm guessing) their six most popular items. I ordered the Tandoori(?) chicken from this menu. It included two leg quarters, salad, rice, naan, and a drink for only $9.99. Not a bad deal. It took about fifteen minutes for my order to be completed. A few other customers were ahead of me, also waiting, some impatiently. Once ready, I sat at one of the tables out front. Hmmm, no napkins? Only a spoon to eat with? Where's my drink? Once I got that sorted, it was time to eat. The chicken was a tad on the dry side and the flavours a bit understated. The salad consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, and red onions. The naan was large and fresh. The rice was plentiful, nice and fluffy. I'm used to bolder flavours in Indian cuisine. Overall, it was just okay. I'm used to bold flavours but I found the chicken a bit underseasoned. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't as good as I was anticipating. Hopefully, these issues will be sorted out in time.
