A selection of dishes - Lamb chops , chicken sampler, paneer tikka ,chicken seekh kebabs for appetizers. Mains were - butter chicken, goat curry , palak paneer, malai kofta, dal makhani as well as garlic naans, tandoori rotis , lachha parathas . I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that Sachin had added a few butter naans as extras since he felt we had not ordered enough breads !! Each dish was well prepared, delicious and flavourful. We visited this quaint restaurant to check out their butter chicken as I had read that Lageez serves up one of the best butter chickens in town. My picky child has recently started loving butter chicken, so she was also very excited to try out a new spot. We were able to make a reservation for a Saturday dinner. The small dining room was almost at full capacity, but the servers seated us quickly and took our order. We ordered various items to try, and although good, the butter chicken was not one of the best I've had. We enjoyed most of our meal with the exception of the mango salad. The atmosphere is casual, relaxing and cozy. Friendly staffs, and reasonably priced. More importantly, the food quality and menu choices were great. We've ordered take out in the past for this place but never gave a sit down visit, so we recently gone for a visit to try out if they're still remaining consistent in their offerings. Here was what we ordered: Fish Pakora- $15 (6pcs) - Its basa I was told and lightly deep fried with a green chutney sauce I believe. Its decent though I was thinking pakora was a round ball like, but it came out like fish sticks. Egg Plant Bhart w/ Rice- $17 - This veggie dish was nicely blended with onions, eggplant and goes well with rice or naan to be honest. Chicken Korma Curry w/ Butter Naan- $18.95 - This is probably one of their signature dishes. The creaminess of the cashew curry and the chicken is decently tender. It goes well with either rice or naan. Overall, we don't usually enjoy Indian cuisine too often and we must say this is a place worth trying! Seating isn't the biggest and washroom is downstairs so its not exactly wheelchair friendly. We're happy we left this place without smelling like the food odor as Indian restaurant tend to carry strong aroma in their food which can transfer to your clothes at times. read more

Lageez is a little gem in Scarborough for authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant is clean, cozy with classy decor. Although it is small but they can accommodate a big group at the back of the dining hall. Service was quick and polite. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered - tandoori sampler, butter chicken and Kadai Lamb. The portion was generous. Food was well use with spices and flavourful. Ive been here about three times. Ive had mutiple dishes and its always authentic, quality food. I enjoy the chaats, mint tikka chicken, chilli chicken...and their garlic naan is amaaazing. Thin, flakey, buttery and garlicky....beautifully topped with cilantro. I recommend this place. For the hardcore Muslims, although this place is halal, they serve alcohol. Btw the restroom is all the way in the basement, for those who may find that difficult. read more

Went here for the second time and ordered the appetizer platter which consists of chicken pakora, fish pakora, pakora, Samosa, aloo tiki, and It comes with two chutneys to accompany the samples. It is delicious. So nice and warm. Love it! For mains I ordered butter chicken and Dhal makhani..they both come with naan bread which is a decent size. Again, I was very impressed. The food is amazing here ! It's I think my favourite Indian restaurant with good service in Toronto. I just hope they maintain and are consistent...I noticed with a lots of restaurants that the first time you go it's amazing but then the quality slowly decreases. But this place seems promising as it's been around for a while. Location and ambiance is okay isn't the best, but that didn't bother me as the food was super delicious. Quaint restaurant with dimmed lighting, textured walls and dark wood. I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful details that the owners and managers included in all aspects of the dining experience. Very cozy restaurant: a perfect place to bring your significant other for a date. The host/waiter/interior decorator was very cordial and a wealth of information when it came to the menu and the restaurant. He brought us two pretty blue glasses and a chilled bottle of water. He smiled when I started taking pictures of the table setting and water. He mentioned that he ordered the glassware from Montreal and that the beautifully shaped blue glasses had bubbles intentionally imbedded in it: cool detail. Complimentary papadum with accompanying cilantro/coriander and tamarind chutneys (dipping sauces) came out next. Made fresh every day, they were deliciously light and crispy. We ordered the mix appetizer platter. When it came out I noticed the elegantly shaped plate that they came on. I delighted in trying out each savory appetizer and matching it with it's complementary chutney. The only bad thing with the appetizer was that the chicken pakora was overcooked and chewy, but it was still tasty. The mains were a bit of a wait: but in the meantime, I was able to notice that the beautiful pendant lights above us were very slowly rotating: I was reminded to sit back, relax and enjoy this time with my hubby. The fish in the Goan fish curry was cooked perfectly: moist and tender. The chicken in the butter chicken was a little overdone but still delicious. The curries were both delectable (make sure to mix in the white sauce drizzled over the butter chicken, it makes a difference in taste) and I'm glad we had enough naan and rice to soak it all up. At the end of our meal, our server gave us hot towels (like the ones given out on select flights) to wipe off our hands: classy! My friend and I shared the veggie samosa, palak paneer and chicken korma. The 2 curries include a choice of naan or rice, we ordered one of each. We forgot to specify the level of spiciness for the curries but thankfully they came pretty mild as I have a low heat tolerance. But for people who wants the heat, you might want to let them know as their default seems pretty mild. They served complimentary cracker like flat bread with a green and brown sauce. The green sauce definitely has a kick to it. The brown sauce was slightly sweet which reminded me of BBQ sauce. The veggie samosas were alright, but they were freshly fried and the inside was piping hot! I really liked the Palak paneer. It was creamy, had a decent amount of paneer and wasn't oily. It was garnish with fine strips of ginger, crumbled paneer and a grape tomato. The chicken korma was good too with a very generous amount of curry sauce. Both curries had a mild but well balance of spices. The only thing I wish they would work on is to use less MSG. During my meal, I had quite a few cups of water. After our meal, my friend and I spent the rest of the night drinking water. They were pretty busy that night, but service was still attentive. read more

Fish masala was very good. Good price and portion. Service during pick up was efficient and friendly. The mix chicken sampler I could do without next time. Was it he only average dish. What a great little gem in Scarborough! Came here for lunch and was delighted with the thali specials. Lageez features vegetarian and chicken Thalis at no more than $13 each. The thalis feature 3 half pieces of naan, a chicken option of your choice (I chose the Butter Chicken which was delicious), Chana masala, and basmati rice. A small dessert is also served. The chicken biryani is also a generous portion with tender pieces of chicken and was very tasty (although not too spicy). There are lunch take out specials for only $6.99 which is a meat dish with rice. I'd definitely recommend visiting Lageez if you're in the area! read more

I came here with my family for Family day based on yelp reviews. The interior was beautiful, it was like a hidden gem because on the outside it didn't look like much! We ordered the non-veg mixed appetizer. It came with a samosa, fish, potato and onion cutlet. My most favourite from this platter was the fish! Definetly will be ordering the fish individually as an apetizer next time! For the main, we wanted to try a bit of everything that looked good. We ordered the chicken bruiyani, butter chicken, chicken vidaloo, butter naan and chicken kabob. The chicken bruiyani and the chicken vidaloo stood out! The chicken bruiyani was very good with the right amount of spice and flavour! The chicken vidaloo had a hint of sour and it was so flavourful. The butter chicken was really good too! Didn't taste too much like tomatoes like in other indisn restaraunts and i loved that! The butter naan was nice and soft and very buttery! Lastly, the chicken kabob was the only item that was a miss today. It was very tough and tasted like sausage, it said it has cottage cheese but I didn't taste it and it was nowhere to be found. The only thing good about it was the presentation. All the portions were plentiful, for the 4 of us we had to take leftovers home for all the dishes! Lastly for dessert we ordered the pistachio kulfi! This was a nice ending to our heavy fulfilling meal! It had the right amount of sweetness, it was very good! I just don't get why they put so much rose water, not a big fan of rose water! We also had the mango lassie which had a strong flavour of rose watet so it was not a favourite. I'm so glad my friend found this place. Their Indian food is exceptionally delicious! We've been here twice already and usually order the lamb vindaloo - incredibly delicious but spiciness does build up! We ordered the paneer tikka masala and the chicken kadai as well which tasted very similiar (paneer was sweeter) so I would recommend not ordering those two sauces at the same time. The goat briyani was really nicely flavoured and slightly spicy. The service isn't the best because we asked for water a few times and they forgot but I know it's hard when there's only two servers. The restaurant is small so try to come before/after the rush or make reservations. Would definitely return and try their other items. read more

La JEEEZZZ! At first, I didn't know this was by St Clair and was rather reluctant to go (Note: I was fairly north in the GTA at this time). However, I ended up going anyways as I found it on a list of top South Asian restaurants. The restaurant is quite small and can probably only hold 30 - 50 persons. The servers were very diligent and were quick to serve me. I received a crispy, rolled roti-like appetizer that paired with two sauces. One was a spicy green one and the other was a sweet sauce. For my main, I got a curry dish consisting of spinach, garlic, spices and an Indian cheese similar to cottage cheese (paneer). This was thick and creamy. Overall, I had a pleasant meal and service. There seemed to be a lot of people doing take-out, making me believe that this spot is a local favourite. Only recommendation I have was that there needs to be better ventilation because overtime, it felt very stuffy. read more

We were visiting someone in Scarborough and this place was close by. Going by the reviews we decided to walk in. There were a few large groups and was very busy. It's a mid sized restaurant well lit and a minimalistic decor. The menu is limited as well but has all the regulars of an Indian restaurant, and to add a couple of chats. We ordered for a chicken lollipop, a chicken biryani, Malai kofta and a naan and a masala tea. The chicken biryani was very forgettable. The Malai kofta gravy was delicious the koftas were dry and I would have liked if they were smaller and softer. The lollipop was the highlight, reminded of home. The tea was excellent. Nothing extraordinary but by the reviews seems like a favorite amongst residents of the area. If you visit Scarborough or live there and want to add an option to your list, there you go. The portion sizes are decent for one dish to be shared by two people, for the above we paid about $50 with taxes. read more

Lageez! What a great lunch experience. I can't remember the price but I think around $13 you can get a 3 course lunch. I got the spinach saag vegetarian lunch. There was an assortment of things to eat in my tray. Everything was TASTY. The pakora was actually my least favourite thing which is usually my favourite of things...! The Naan was massive and there was rice too to get you full for the afternoon. We didn't finish the Naan because there was such a generous serving. The Gulab jamun dessert was pretty good too. I would 100% go back for lunch again. The service was friendly and attentive, nothing more to say. read more

I think their focus is mostly on Take Outs but they have settings for people to come and dine. Service: nice bunch of guys serving. There's a young lad called Sachin who is very prompt and energetic. VEGAN OPTIONS - Yes. But I chose non-vegan options. Stopped in with my husband after I'd already had a meal elsewhere, so I only ended up ordering a naan. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his dishes, which consisted of a chicken tikka masala and a seekh kebab. Since I didn't eat any of that, I can only review the naan, and it was DELICIOUS!
