I was there during the week on lunchtime with friends, it's got this really lovely laid back cosy style, and was super friendly. I like the fact they have a massive blackboard wall, with lots of menu choices, from tapas to light bites, and have specials too. We headed to the back of the building which almost feels conservatory like. The whole menu looked mouthwatering, I opted for the Home Smoked Trout with cream cheese, scrambled egg and radish salad. All of the flavours really complemented each other, and the scrammed egg was the lightest and fluffiest I've ever tasted. It was an ample portion, and really set me up for the rest of the day. The other thing I should mention is price, you get high quality for a great price. My brunch was priced at £6.90. The perfect price for a lunch deal in my opinion. I shall most certainly be back, and would highly recommend this place.

Whether it's a caffeinated pick-me-up that you're after, a hearty stomach filler, a light bite, or even a hangover cure, I can vouch for the high quality you will receive. All four members of our little party were suitably impressed, and if anyone had been eavesdropping on our table, they would have heard frequent exclamations of pleasure along the following lines: "Oh you must try this...", "God this is delicious...", "Wow that looks good!" and "That was so tasty I want more!" So what's the deal? What's so good about it? Well I simply must start with the coffee, it is mouth-wateringly good. And I can be fussy about coffee (as can my companions) so it really is saying something. It comes served up in a comfortingly solid mug for those who might be feeling a bit 'fragile' - or if you would prefer a super strong coffee, a double strength version can is offered up in a chic little tumbler. PLUS they are amazing value - one tasty Americano only costs 150 pennies. Think of it as half the price, but double the taste of places like Starbucks & Co. The food is also something special. Even the bogstandard basics have little upgrades to make them even more wholesome. For example bread is replaced by sourdough, quinoa is available as well as rice, and even the baked beans are homemade! And if that's not enough to tantalise your tastebuds, how does a sourdough sarnie with bacon, rocket and harissa sound?...and that's just the lunch menu! We ourselves, went for a late breakfast and I was able to enjoy a bowlful of fresh fruit, apple compote, yoghurt and granola (see photos) all just for £4. It was the most deliciously nutritious thing I've eaten in a long time. My friend on the othe rhand opted for the 'Moorish Scramble' and can confirm it lives up to its name, served up with lip-lickingly tasty slices of chorizo. Om nom nom indeed. What else? The setting is rather soothing. There's quite a calming atmosphere about the place. And even though I wasn't quite able to get there this early, it actually opens at 9am on weekdays which pleases me: one of my pet peeves is places that advertise breakfasts but then don't actually open until 11am. Furthermore, it opens late Wednesday - Sunday to cater for dinner as well. It would appear that Poco is quite versatile and covers all areas from casual coffee to full-on dinner menu, and I'm willing to bet it does all of them with a flourish.

The decor is cool it has loads of cool artwork and ornamental pieces and the candlelit ambience makes it feel warm and cosy. The food is good, the nachos extra are always tasty although I'm sure you could make the same at home, saying that they are great for sharing with a jug of Sangria between friends. I had a lamb dish from the specials menu last visit, it was okay, the lamb was well cooked and fell off the bone but it was over seasoned which took away from the flavour of the other ingredients. This place is great for drinks, the Sangria is Delicious and just like something you'd have on holiday. The margaritas are equally good and super tasty. We went with a group of friends and started on the tequilas (when in Rome), however the waitress asked if we wanted to try a different tequila, it was served with orange and cinnamon and oh my that was something special there, it certainly sent us off on or merry/ wobbly way! It's worth a visit if just for those tequilas! The staff are really friendly and put up with a rowdy crowd with us lot with out any issues.

By the time they brought a new one out to us, I had finished my main already. They gave us some extra sweet pots fries for free. Last time I went I arrived at the bar as the barman was serving a customer in front of me. Once he had finished serving his customer he headed back up the bar to begin mixing a cocktail jug. After a full minute of being ignored I asked could I order some food to be asked if I could 'hang on' as he was serving someone (there was no-one else besides me stood at the bar). When he eventually came to take my food order, he left half way through to go and talk to another member of staff further down the bar, again with no explanation. When he returned I ordered salmon noodles and chicken penne pasta. Before I could pay, the other member of staff asked what I was ordering, and informed me that there was no pasta available. I ordered a Que Pasa Club sandwich instead and paid the bill. Ten minutes later the barman came over to the table to inform us that there was no salmon noodle dish available either. Eventually he had to call the other member of staff over to explain to us exactly what we could order. Items not available were: any salads, burgers, noodles, stir fry, fajitas, tuna, pasta or paella. We ordered a pizza and were then told that there would be a 45 minute wait as there were four other tables who had placed orders for Tapas before us, and these would take a long time. When the food arrived, the pizza had to be sent back as it was cold, and the club sandwich was the most appalling, un-appetising thing I have ever seen soggy toast, one slice of tomato in the whole sandwich, only two slices containing lettuce, and then it was tiny pieces of red lettuce which looked like it had come from the bottom of the bag. When I mentioned this to the manager I was informed that there was no salad left, and asked whether I would like a free drink as they had no lettuce. To be honest, the way the question was asked made us both feel as though we were being petty for mentioning it. Despite the fact that the staff did apologise, it did not feel genuine, and one member of staff constantly mentioned what a hard day and what a long shift he'd had as he'd had to work extra because they'd been so busy. She come over to our table, saying "we are going to have to give you your bill and you have to leave" I asked what for and she replied because you are doing drugs at the table. She then followed it up by saying " I see it. the table opposite see it and the whole restaurant see it" I was gob smacked and said what a false statement and complete lie she's just made up! All I was doing was being polite and amicable to the drunk girl, trying to get her away from me and my partner.(which the table opposite clapped and said "fair play guys you handled that drunk girl better then we would have") When I challenged the matrie'd she said she will get the CCTV to prove this is what happened. I waited for another 10 minutes and no one come to the table so I called the manager. I spoke to the manager and said I've just been accused of selling and taking drugs from this girl, please get the CCTV because maitre'd said she will get it to prove we had done such a thing! Conveniently the CCTV wasn't actually working in the area we was sitting in. By now my partner was upset and and panicking, I asked them to call the police to search me if this was what I was being accused of and nothing. The manager didn't have anything to say all he replied with was, I don't think that's what's happened I don't think you gave them anything I think they gave you something. Like this made it any better. The manager was as spineless as his maitre'd the whole company needs to go onto a customer training course and they need to think before they start accusing people of doing crimes on their premises. Mind, it isn't 100% authentic. It isn't the greasy, heavy, but utterly indulgent Mexican food I'm used to. Wahaca is more of Mexican cuisine with a modern twist but they do pay some pretty accurate homage to the spices and flavours of Mexico; they even apparently have a trusted source in Mexico for certain ingredients. ~ Atmosphere: Wahaca is sneakily massive. When I first walked in, I thought it seemed pretty tiny but there are actually 3 different floors for dining with the top floor having a stocked bar for a bit of lounging as well. Because their toilets are on the top floor, they actually have an ELEVATOR in the restaurant! ~ Customer Service: Really friendly. The waitress asked if we needed any help with figuring out what to order from the menu but since I was already really familiar with Mexican cuisine I didn't need it. However, rest assured if you're new to Mexican food the waitresses are happy to help (don't feel embarrassed to ask!). Food came out pretty quickly and they have a unique system where you can pay using wi-fi as well. ~ Food: The absolute highlight. My partner and I wanted to skip the "ah"s and "um"s with deciding what to order, so we just went for the Wahaca selection for "adventurers" - £32.50 worth of food. It came with: * 2 Salmon Sashimi Tostadas * 3 Pork Pibil Tacos * 1 Large Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla (cut in half) * 2 Pea & Mint Empanadas * Frijoles w/ Chorizo * Broccoli w/ Green Goddess Dressing * Grilled Corn on the Cob * Churros y Chocolate The highlight for the meal for me was DEFINITELY the Salmon Sashimi Tostadas - they were absolutely perfect and the salmon was incredibly fresh! I thought the broccoli, corn, and frijoles would be a tad boring but I'm so glad I was proven wrong. I never thought that I'd be enjoying just a plate of broccoli so much but it was perfectly cooked and went very well with the dressing. Normally, I'm not a fan of corn on the cob either (I just find them a pain to eat!) but again, Wahaca managed to take something I normally don't like and turn it into something magical. The sauce on the corn was flawless. My least favourite part of the meal were the tacos, but that's only because I've had better (not fair though seeing as I'm from California). However, they were still very delicious. --- The only downside to Wahaca is that I feel it's very pricey and you don't really feel too full at the end either. After we finished our meal, my partner and I were still feeling a bit hungry. I would say that Wahaca isn't great when you're looking for a filling dinner (unless you're willing to pay a lot) but fantastic if you're looking to appreciate food and enjoy different flavours.
