    Great steaks on offer
    Rick C.

Stunning steakhouse you will only find if you walk 0.5 miles out of the tourist area. My wife and I were treated like royalty as we were met with a bilingual hostess. They have a great selection of beers on tap or craft beer in the bottle. The wine list was awesome. We ordered the steak, and we're not disappointed. This has to be one of the best Filet Mignons I have had. I would concur with a previous reviewer: if you really want medium rare, order medium. If you want rare, order me, a medium rare. Like all great steakhouses, no Cook wants to overcook. However, next time I come here, I'll order medium wrath in my usual medium rare. No, taking away from the awesomeness of this place.

I was excited to go there I order filet mignon, but it was very chewy We also got the fish and it was full of bones The fish and the steak came before the salad ) Service was kind of slow . Sorry I will not go back .

This restaurant came highly recommended by our tour guide and locals alike, so a group of us booked a reservation for dinner. The exterior looks impressive and inside is elegant, with old school charm. There were quite a few steak dishes that sounded appetizing, including the Filet Mignon, Bife Chorizo with Malbec mushroom sauce, and Steak Filet with cheese, tomatoes, onion, seasoning, along with scalloped potatoes. I finally decided on the Steak Filet, and was quite pleased with it. The steak was on a sizzling hot plate, delightfully tender, juicy, full of bold flavor, with tasty melty cheese and fresh veggies on top. The potatoes were soft and pillowy, with cheese as well. I also got to try the other 2 dishes, which were not as good. My friend's filet mignon was originally cooked too rare, so she asked for it to be butterflied and medium well. It came back not butterflied and over cooked, so the meat was a bit too tough and not that flavorful. There was also no sauce so that added to the dryness. The steak with Malbec sauce was better, as it was quite succulent, but I wasn't a fan of the mushroom or Malbec sauce. Service was solid. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. After we received the bill, it took us awhile to figure it out because we had to count all our money (when 800 ARS pesos equals 1 USD, it's A LOT to handle). I enjoyed my meal and we had a lovely time together here (even if not everyone loved what they ordered.)

This restaurant is very busy and gets good reviews, so it was surprisingly disappointing. I ordered the fish, they got my order wrong, no big deal, that happens, But the fish didn't taste fresh, fishy taste, yuk! My husband's Ribeye was chewy, not good And the bill came with a couple mistakes, not in our favor, we got charged extra for drinks and appetizers. Huge disappointment!

Great food, we love the food. My wife and daughter had surubi and dorado. The food was fresh, good quality and quantity. I had Ojo Steak and my som had filet Mignon, they were both great. In general, we enjoy everything. The food was a bit less salty to our liking, but we added dash of salt, it was delicious. Hope everyone will enjoy this place like we did.

We had a recommendation to visit this restaurant from a friend, so while in Foz de Iguazu, Brazil, we crossed the border into Argentina to try this place out. Our group consisted of six people, us, from the USA, another couple from Britain and another couple from Brazil. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy, however they seated us quickly. It took some time to get our drink order going but they were very accommodating in getting us tastes of their house wines so we could make our decision on what to drink. Service was good, they were responsive and got us all the things we requested. I ordered a rib eye steak, medium rare. When I cut into my steak, it was overdone. I called the waiter and simply asked, Do you think this is medium rare? Without question or debate it was immediately removed and replaced with a correctly cooked steak. I appreciated that there was no drama. Everyone in our party was very happy with the food, (all ordered steaks). How happy? Well, the filling day all six of us returned to have dinner again. All of us are wishing this place was a little closer to where we live! Side point, this is Jan, 2023, and the economic situation in Argentina is pretty dire. Because of their currency crisis, our American dollar was worth around $330 pesos. What did that mean for our meal? We had 6 steak dinners, bottles of wine, beers and desserts for around $100 US. Mind blown. If you are in the area the visit it definitely worth it.

Delicious. The food. The service. The wine. It was all great! We had their sarubi, a steak, salad, and their house wine and all were delicious. This place was such a treat in the middle of Puerto Iguazu. I would recommend either making a reservation or being prepared to wait about 30 minutes.

La Rueda is highly recommended by everyone, and with good reason. The ambiance, the perfect staff, and the delicious food add up to a delightful experience. They do take reservations, but they are extremely accommodating to walk ins, which we were. We had a delightful table outside on the patio. Delicious bread and wine/beer followed quickly, and then hard choices had to be made. I was extremely tempted by the pasta, but many had told me I must try the suribi, which is a River fish similar to catfish. Rueda prepares it several ways, but I chose it with a mild butter, herb, mushroom sauce. It was delicioso, and it arrived with smooth mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. My husband chose grilled chicken breast with veggies and potatoes. Both dishes were so good, but also so large. We did not have space for dessert, but those looked excellent. I highly recommend, along with many others!

It was done in a small group environment (we had around 10 people), and everyone was very social and welcoming. The experience featured a 10 dish tasting menu, 3 Argentinian wines, an empanada making class, and a mate and cocktail experience. All of the drinks and food were very good. I honestly don't think there was a single thing that I didn't enjoy. The experience did not feel rushed whatsoever, and people were free to drink as much wine as they liked. I also felt like this experience gave me a really nice introduction to a lot of different Argentinian flavours! I got to try alfejores for the first time, and I got to make my very own mate (an earthy tea, that's a very important part of Argentinian culture, and you frequently see people drinking it on the streets). I truly believe anyone that travels to the Argentinian side of Igauzu needs to check out this experience!

They started us off with bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar - my fave was the breadstick. We ordered 2 appetizers: the antipasti of local specialties and the melted cheese. The antipasti of local specialties included cassava, avocado, surubí croquette, reviro, chipa guazu, and sopa paraguaya. This dish was so unique!! My fave was one of the corn pies (it was cheesy) and the croquette. This dish is quite heavy on the starch, so it is very filling. The melted cheese was spectacular. It was piping hot and savory, and I loved the hint of tomato taste. For my entree, I got the tropical surubí. The fish was mostly flaky and tender, and had some nice crispy parts. A few bites were too salty, but it was overall very enjoyable. My bf got the gnocchi with the shrimp sauce. It was solid. For dessert, I got the chocolate specialty dessert, which consisted of white chocolate mousse over a brownie. I didn't particularly enjoy it. The mousse didn't have the texture of mousse - it was too gelatin-like. The brownie also wasn't very fudgy or chocolatey. My bf got the passion fruit mousse, and he loved it. To end the evening, they gave us some limoncello. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal because of the uniqueness of the local dishes. Service was great. He also "hung out" with other staff whilst holding our (and other patrons') food rather than dropping it off. We sat right next to the water feature. Looks cool, right? Yeah, it's covered in flies and other random insects. The little black specks on the table cloth weren't spilled pepper! Fried calamari was spot on! Super crisp outside, tender inside- nailed it! The mixed drink (something fruity with vodka) was also quite good. The bread basket was all stale and crumbly- worst we'd had in 3 weeks in Argentina. We ordered the duo de pescados and caprese salad to share. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENTS the fish was crazy salty and WAY overcooked. Both pieces were literally burned on the skin side leaving the flesh devoid of any moisture- barely edible. The salad was another train wreck. They switched out buffalo mozzarella for a giant log of very dense string cheese cut into pucks. Add some grey, wilted basil leaves, tomato and a pesto drizzle and you have their version of a classic. Wait, don't forget the walnuts. Yep, they tossed walnuts into their ensalata caprese. Crappy tourist trap that you'll never miss. Lots of other great places to dine in Iguazú.

The bolognese sauce was not the typical tomato based bolognese sauce, but went with the fresh pasta very nicely. We also tried multiple grilled meats... As would be expected from an Argentine restaurant, the streaks were tender and cooked to our tastes. We also tried the rack of lamb, but would not recommend it. But I said no, because I really don't when no one drives for me, hah.. and no one to share dishes that I want to order. But not everyone has the luxury to travel in all the odd timings throughout the year, so I rest my case. I was the only guest in this rather spacious restaurant in the small border town. Italian operas were played in the background. The first piece when I sat down was Verdi's Rigoletto. Suddenly i thought of someone- this was the first opera we watched together. We were so shy and naive. The grandpa-like owner came by to take orders. His English was limited as noted by the previous Yelpers, but he made it up by body language and facial expressions. ;) He explained only a few items on the menu were available. I ordered red grape fondue to start, and spinach lasagna as the main. Red grapes were split open and filled in with cream cheese, and then to be dipped into a small plate of hot cheese fondu in the middle. It was creative and tasted quite interesting. The spinach lasagna was a plethora of cheese and spinach- the cheese was overpowering... I tried very hard and finished nearly half. Grandpa asked me to bag the rest and I obliged for fear of disappointing him and "my lady" as he called his wife. :) For dessert, as usual, I tried two. Tiramisu was a bit dry and oversweet, then I went for a chocolate mousse- smooth but sweeter than I can bear. The 3rd option was a pear with something something. I loved my waiter's body expressions but could only determine it's probably very sweet.. hah In all, I enjoyed the way I was treated and amused on a rather chilly night on the first day of July, 2019, in the Argentine winter.
