In my opinion La Salida has the best tacos. They have a large variety of tacos, carne asada , posture, avocado, chicken and the even do beef ribs. Worth the short ride from the Border. Great service and priced exceptional well. Three of us were there today, 10 Tacos three cokes 220 pesos. Like $12 USD.

What a sweet place! I had a fantastic omelette and my husband had the chicken-fried steak. He…read moresaid it was the best he'd ever had.

I really wanted to like Nickles Diner because the staff were incredibly friendly and were honestly…read morethe highlight of our visit. Everyone we interacted with was kind, courteous, and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming. We ordered the burger with mac & cheese, a French dip sandwich, biscuits and gravy, chili cheese fries, zucchini fries, and drinks for two adults and two kids. None of us finished our meals. My son's mac & cheese had a pool of oil underneath it, the biscuits and gravy left a greasy film on the roof of our mouths, the cheese on the chili cheese fries tasted very artificial, and the zucchini fries were slimy. I also found a piece of brown paper in my food. I showed it to the staff, and they apologized. They told me they would remove the meal from the bill and even offered me a cinnamon roll for the inconvenience, which I initially accepted because I appreciated the gesture. However, when I went to pay, I realized they had only discounted the meal by half instead of removing it entirely. At that point, everything kind of fell apart for me. I no longer wanted the cinnamon roll because I was genuinely disappointed with the entire experience. I didn't argue about it because the staff had been very kind, it had already taken quite a while just to pay, and I needed to leave. Another surprise was the pricing. The menu made it seem like the meals came with a side, but we were charged separately for each one. The drinks were around $4 each, even for the kids. Our total came to $73 before the partial discount and was still about $65 afterward. I understand this isn't meant to be gourmet dining, and I'm usually perfectly happy with simple diner food if it tastes good. Unfortunately, this just didn't. It was one of those meals where you leave thinking, "Well, I ate," but not feeling like you actually enjoyed it. For the price, it was especially disappointing. I honestly feel like we could have had a better meal almost anywhere else for less money even somewhere like McDonald's, and I'm not a fan of McDonald's. I truly appreciate how friendly and accommodating the staff were, which is why I'm giving more than one star. I just hope the food quality and value improve because the service deserves better than the food that's being served.

I stopped by with my coworker while on a work trip today and found this barbecue place on yelp…read more From the outside it looked really cool, and even smelled great. We were pretty excited as we walked in. The atmosphere inside was cool, I really thought it was a cool touch with the old train car that you sit in. The service was fine, it was a little odd with the robotic delivery thing that brought the food to the table along with the waitress. Where I really can't give a good rating is the food. I ordered the brisket plate, a coworker ordered the chicken. The first red flag was that it took only about 2 minutes from the time we put our order in until the food showed up at the table. I don't think I've ever seen food come out of any restaurant so fast, unless it was a fast food place. I was so focused on the wrinkled, withered half chicken on my coworkers plate that I didn't really even pay attention to my brisket. The chicken looked like it had been overcooked for way too long, and then had probably sat underneath the heat lamp for quite a bit longer. Watching him try to cut through the skin with a steak knife would have been really funny, except we were both pretty hungry. When I got to my brisket, there were several good size slices of meat. There was a smoke ring evident on the top of the meat, but none on the bottom. My guess is that it had probably been smoked on a flat pan or something else that kept smoke off. The overall smoke flavor was fairly weak, nowhere near what I expected for a brisket. The worst part however, was that I needed a steak knife also to cut into my brisket. It was tough and dry. My best guess, based on the texture and a weird aftertaste, is that it had been smoked, sliced and frozen, and was then reheated in a microwave (if you've ever nuked a steak, you know how it makes the meat taste). The coleslaw and beans served as sides were alright, though the beans were over salted. Overall, this was a disappointment for food. Neither my coworker or myself were able to eat more than half of the meal, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting good BBQ.

I got the Smoky Gobbler, and it was shockingly good. The grilled bun was crunchy and tasty, the fillings were great, and it was overall surprisingly yummy. The service was friendly and just right as well. The atmosphere is a bit of cowboy bar with a dozen tables or so.

This has got to be the worst "bbq" we have ever had. To call it bbq is a stretch. We ordered the 2…read moremeat, 2 side meal I got the Memphis style ribs and smokes turkey, green beans and potato salad. We also ordered bbq wings, chocolate cake and the cheese cake. Let me start with the meat 1. There was absolutely no hint of bbq or smoke flavor. The ribs still had the membrane on the back and you could tell it was cooked in the over. The turkey was inedible. It looked like lunch meat slices in some type of juice. I have attached a photo. 2. The potato salad had the consistency of mashed potatoes with a whole lot of mayo.it was extremely runny. It had large chunks of olives, onions, celery. (Inedible) The green beans were passable but you could tell they used precooked bacon. 3. Chicken wings were deep fried so crispy, the meat was over cooked 4. Chocolate cake was so dry that it stuck to your mouth. You could tell with the cheesecake it was boxed. Awful! We spend, with tip, almost $90 and 95% of the meal was inedible. I honestly can't understand how they are still in business. Save your money and your stomach and go somewhere else..
