Taste I didn't know I ordered churros so bill was higher than expected (thought they gave em free haha maybe it was a part of the order), but it's fine since my friends gave me a bite of theirs and it was delicious. It has some sort of vanilla filling and is cooked to perfection. The barilla I had (while seemingly pricey), was also good, crispy in almost every end, heavy stuffing of meat which was good. Ambiance Plenty of space to sit and eat at the picnic tables where the food truck is parked. Service Ask for napkins from the staff who are nice. Wait time was fine. Came for the brewery, will return for the food truck! I had heard there was a "food truck" near East Brothers brewery, but was not prepared for the deliciousness we discovered in the Santa Torta! People kept walking by with mouth-watering plates, so I had to try a little of everything. Ordered the torta birra (beef sandwich that you dip in a side of sauce), red tacos (beef), and the elote (an all time cup of cheesy corn goodness with spicy crisps on top)! I was surprised they only offered one meat choice (beef) but it was done so well I have zero complaints! The only downside was they were already sold out of churros when we arrived! This truck is usually at the East Brothers Beer Company. The location is a little off the main byways in Richmond, it is not to long of a ride for me. I liked it so well that I would recommend that friends try it even it is a bit out of the way. It is parked near the entrance to the brewery. I usually ordered the quesabirria, three red tacos plate red with consommé. The tacos are filling, I am full after two. I take the remaining taco home and heat it in the consommé the next day. The tacos are great but there are several other places that are equally as good So, if there are other places that are equal what brings me back here? The best thing on the menu is Elote Chido: elote without the cob. The corn in a cup has mayo, lime juice, tajin, chili pepper, lime, and sea salt. It is topped with cotija cheese and Cheetos. We were at East Brothers brewery and it just so happened that La Santa Torta was there that day too! We got their quesadilla birria which came with consomme and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was really juicy and tender. They also provided salsas but the consomme was packed with flavor so we didn't even use them. I will preface my review with the disclosure that I typically prefer a good carne asada (all carne asada isn't equal so emphasis on GOOD) over birria BUT there's room in our lives for both! This has been on my list to try for a while so since I was passing Richmond I decided to stop by. They were parked outside of the Richmond Costco on Central Ave and this spot seemed both good and bad. The good aspect of this location is that Costco is busy, especially on weekends. That means guaranteed visibility in the area & probably more customers. The bad aspect is that parking is beyond horrible and it's a little hard to social distance without standing in the bark / bushes. That aside, it's easy to spot and it's not far from the freeway. The tacos are made fresh to order and the wait was only about 10 minutes so no complaints. The tacos on their own are filled with cheesey meaty goodness, they don't skimp. They're a tad expensive, $14 after tax for three of them, but that's the range I usually see for these type of tacos so I knew what to expect. Their menu is online so you can browse it beforehand and go there with an idea of how much you should be prepared to spend. On their own they're actually a little bland but that's usually my opinion on birria tacos and why I prefer a good carne asada. The consommé is usually what makes or breaks a birria taco and I opted not to get any. What I will give kudos to is the spicy green salsa it comes with. I used almost all of it (it came with one on the plate and one in the bag) and it gave the tacos flavor and spice. I give it three stars because it's a pretty average taco and i think this is an average rating. No complaints on the service and employees were wearing masks in accordance with COVID guidelines. Overall, I'd eat here again but when in Richmond it probably won't be my first choice. I'm probably more inclined to go to the Oakland location. They seem to have a large social media following so I'm sure people will go to them wherever they decide to park. read more

Beer company in point Richmond every afternoon/evening from 4-8pm. Brothers beer company has been around for 3 years in the most random off the grid location in Richmond beer the port and new developments. Nothing is will lit so try not to speed down the street or you'll miss it . La Santa offers only 3-4 things ...: 1. Birria tacos - greasy heaven. 2. Birria Torta - this thing is huge 3. Birria noodles - in a Large a$$ bowl enough for two to share 4. Elote 5. Churros You can grab a drink inside at the beer garden ! I said that I'd come back later, when I wasn't so hungry, and I would have come back sooner, except that they are opening a place in Oakland, too. I'm glad that they have been able to expand operations, however, knowing where they are and when has been a chore. They also have different hours. I have to call a 925 number to get in touch with them, find out if they are open so that I can order. The problem is that the site says Richmond, but has the Oakland address and I have said a few times to the person answering the phone, I don't want to order my tacos and then find out that they are in Oakland. They seem to have rectified this by putting their locations (for what I now know is Food truck one and Food truck two) on Facebook, which makes it much easier. Next, they need a separate phone for each location. They have an easier location to access now that they have been at Costco, but it's frustrating having to call and ask them where they will be. Another problem is that they have two locations (see the resolution above) and it wasn't always clear. Fortunately, I was told one day that they were possibly closing early, which was good because I was at Costco and on my way to their location, next to the brewery, but couldn't put my order through because they were closed. A resolution, but not ideal, because I expect that when places say they are open, I actually expect them to be open for the hours they say that they are open. But, the food. The taste? Not good! The tacos were probably steamed and weren't so crispy. Also, the consomme wasn't great either. Now, I will admit that I did run a quick errand after picking up my tacos because they were going to close and I realize that. But even with that, the weren't great. They were okay, but weren't mind blowing like they were last time. And I ordered tacos from another place, made a quick errand and they were just fine when I got home. I don't know if I'll be back for a third time because the issues getting in touch with them to see where they are and if they are open and where and hope that they are open during their stated hours are too much work on my end. I hope that they work things out and improve how they are operating because they've gone from a place that I used to dream about to one that's just meh. read more

OMG!!! Get the quesabirria (red tacos plate). I've been here a few times and I've thought about trying something else and I just can't do it. You can order consomme on the side if you like for a bit extra. I treated myself to churros for dessert and they were delicious! Chef Leo was away working a special event, however the lovely Aurora served me up my to go order of Red Tacos and Consommé. She packed everything nice and neatly. Trying to find the place feels like a scene out of a scary movie. You drive into a dark parking in the cuts of Point Richmond in an industrial warehouse area. Then you walk down a somewhat lit alley to find a brewery and taco truck. You'll know you're there because the taco truck is unmistakable. I and everyone in my group had the birria tacos. Real JUICY and $12 for 3 tacos. The tacos were good but nothing amazing. I dont want to say overpriced but I think you can get a better deal/taste at a lot of other trucks. Price is reasonable since its 3 good sized tacos with lots of meat, but it was lacking flavor. The meat was bland and just a bit dry. It was not dripping in oil like other birria tacos I've had. I guess this is the healthier version of it. Food was ready in 5 mins. There is some covered outdoor seating right outside of the brewery. Plenty of parking at this industrial parking lot. Man what a disappointment. $17 for 3 tacos and they were drenched, soggy and lacking flavor.

Made an order online and when we showed up for pickup time they weren't open yet. Ended up waiting over an hour for our food after we were told they didn't receive our online order. No apologies were made for the inconvenience and was told we could cancel our order but would have to go through management and couldn't do it on the spot. Decided to wait to avoid being ripped off. The food wasn't as good as other times and isn't the first time experiencing inconsistency in their quality. They weren't able to fulfill part of our order and we still haven't received a refund (glad we didn't cancel the entire $60 order!). Not sure if we will ever return. There are plenty of other places to get your birria taco fix in the bay like El Garage in Richmond which hasn't let us down. read more

This place right here is fire!!! I have been dying to try birria tacos for the longest and after trying La Santa Torta, I am so mad at myself that I didn't try them sooner. This truck is tucked away in the industrial area in Richmond outside of a brewery called East Brother Beer Company. You can make reservations to sit outside of the brewery and have your food delivered to your table but unfortunately, we did not make reservations, so we were forced to eat in the car. I ordered the red tacos which comes with 3 birria tacos for $12! Once we got to the car and started going in on our food, all you could hear were a whole bunch of mmmmmssss....I mean the delicious combination of the crunchy, greasy taco shell, the gooey melted cheese, and the most tender shredded beef tastes heavenly! I took out all three with no problems and went back for another order for home for later. These are by far some of the best tacos I have ever had! Next time, I am going to try the consomme sauce to dip the tacos in and I am definitely going to buy more of the tacos!! read more

Birria tacos on this truck are larger then normal and full of delicious, juicy, beef that you can tell had loads of time marinating and slow cooking. Just take a bite and you'll be mind blown on how beef can have so much flavor! The churros are out of this world as well. Best churros I've ever had in my life! These decadent bites are crunchy outside and soft inside filled with rich and creamy dulce de leche! The menu is pretty simple however they do what they do extremely well (The IN N OUT approach). 1 star for the churros. We had the food truck come to Lafayette. We placed an order on-line to minimize the wait for the food and paid in advance along with a tip. We also picked a specific time to pick up. When we arrived at the truck, our order wasn't ready and was asked to wait an additional 10mins but why was it that 2-3 people that arrived after us and got their food right away...we ended up waiting 30mins longer! What's the purpose in offering to order in advance when the food wouldn't be ready at the time it's requested?!?! when you order from a restaurant in advance, the food is ready once a person arrives....if you aren't going to prepare the food at the time a customer requests it and pays for it in advance, PLEASE disable that option online. Not sure if the tacos were supposed to be greasy but they were dripping of grease which made the tacos soggy read more

1 star for terrible service. My husband and I decided we would like to grab a late lunch this Saturday 4/10. We placed an order online for pick up at 2 pm. We arrived and the truck was not yet opened. Truck opened at 2:15pm. I went to the window and told them I made an order online for 2:00pm, they said my order was not received. They said okay let me see your receipt we will make it now but it will take 30-40mins.... that's ridiculous I made an order for 2:00pm and now it will be about an hour late??? We ended up staying and waiting thinking okay since we ordered online we should be one of the first to receive our meal, NOPE.... everybody that showed at the window before and even after received their food before us. At this point, how is that even possible? On top of all this we had ordered two drinks and they did not carry any drinks and had to refund me. I have not received the refund for my drinks as I paid for my food and drinks online. What a joke! This will be the last time I support this business. They were not apologetic at all. If I knew this was the service I would have received I would have not tipped 20% ahead of time. read more
