The market's weekly email…read moremessage explained two days before that openings can occur in the market due to family emergencies or vacations, or for other reasons. When that happens, the market will introduce its clientele to "a start-up vendor, or someone who's too small to commit to a weekly gig, or someone who wants to try out a cool new product." The market manager, Chris, cited Pickles n' Smoke as an example of the new surprises we can look forward to. When I showed up last Sunday at noon, there was a short line to order. Customers were curious about the new vendor; perhaps many had showed up expecting Fat Daddy's, which is the usual operation at this corner. During my short walk down the market to the Pickles tent, someone whispered in my ear that the brisket from PnS was delicious. As a result, I ordered the brisket sammi, a relatively small sweet roll piled high with brisket, slaw and sauce. The sandwich cost $19, which was somewhat more than I expected to pay; the price, however, did not strike me as outrageous. I paid in cash and was pleased that there was no tip bucket begging for the dollar bill that I received in change. The sandwich was quite excellent. All the flavors blended together very well, and I wasn't terribly bothered by the sweetness of the roll. If PnS comes back to the market, I'll try buying some barbecued meat in bulk or composing a "plate," which can include multiple meats and sides.

At least 70% pure fat. How disappointing! And I ordered baked beans side--underdone! Gross! I did go back to let her know: she said she would tell the chef. $22 down the tubes. How very disappointing

I loved the flavor of the crab it tasted fresh and not too salty. The garlic noodles were perfectly cooked not too much garlic to the point your breath stinks. The orange sauce was sweet and yummy. I also love how it was given with salad and a flower. The young girl who took our order was very kind. Cash App and Venmo only. I can't wait to come back and try more.

I really don't have any special requests, just left it to sitha to create a menu for me and my family based on what's in season and for her to surprise me. Sitha delivered some food to our Airbnb in time for dinner . The menu: - kaw Trey saht chrouk beh Choun (braised fish and pork belly) -stuffed chicken wings kreung ( lemongrass paste ) -stir fry clams -haal Leah (Cambodian sun dried clams ) -raw bloody clams with prohoak ( fermented fish dip) -steamed rice I never had raw bloody clams before, it was a nice touch with the Cambodian prohoak sauce . The braised fish and pork belly was delicious , sweet/ salty and savory . With the crunchy cucumbers was the family favorite dish. Of course the stuffed wings continues to be our family must order when we have a chance .

This came with fried wontons, fried tempeh and meatball skewer. The fried wontons were crispy and had a shrimp and herb stuffing, went well with the sweet and spicy chili sauce. Fried tempeh had batter on it, little pieces of cilantro (or some green) in batter. This went well with the sweet and spicy chili sauce. The meatball skewers had a sweet soy glaze on it, nothing too special but reminded me of an asian meatball with a sight chew/bounce to it. Overall, this was a good snack to have.

There were some photos, but it wasn't entirely intuitive which option to select. Little One got the kids' meal, noodle with soup, for $8. There are two kinds of noodles. One is more like a Ramen and the other one is more like a rice vermicelli. Little One said he liked the thick noodles better than the thin noodles. Both noodle types were okay, but not exceptional. It came with a bowl of piping hot broth. The broth has a mild flavor with some fried onion bits, more like a regular Ramen broth versus Pho broth. It is quite salty, and not very greasy or unctuous. Not a lot of depth of flavor. We didn't want to drink it by itself and ended up throwing out about half of it. It is not spicy, but you can get a small tub of chili sauce on the side. I got the Combo B ($16), which is like a sampler platter with a tiny bit of noodles (2 types), a tub of hot broth, 2 meatball skewers, 1 fried won ton. Little one said the fried wonton was really good. The meatballs were definitely the star of the show. They were not too chewy, very tasty, and had a slightly spicy glaze. Hmmm...maybe there's an error on the menu, but it says I was supposed to get 3 meatball skewers?? The people working at this food truck were extremely nice and friendly. The food came out very quickly. They apparently run some promotions, so it would be a good idea to follow them on social media if you're looking for deals. Overall, it seemed the grilled items were better than the noodle soups. The amount of food was not that much, but that is to be expected from food trucks. Be sure to check your order before leaving.

The restaurant is very clean and spacious! The employees were friendly, the cashier recommended me to try the Bubbarrito, which was very delicious. Comes with fresh salsa and cilantro cream sauce. It is therefore great for groups of people who may have diverse palates. On our visit our group of 3 ordered pork chop rice plate, burger, and breakfast burritos. The portions were very generous, and the taste was on point. My pork chop was chunky and marinated well. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got.

I visited Eye of the Avocado yesterday which is currently a pop-up in the former Sandbox Bakery/Pinkie's Bakery. On the menu is their signature sandwich which I couldn't even pronounce at first and later figured out that it was the acronym for the sequence of colors in the rainbow: Roy. G. Biv. DUH! They taught us this in kindergarten but I guess I was too busy flirting with Jonathan...this adorabley cute hapa boy (with the Jonathan Bower bowl haircut) that was in my class. Hmmm, I wonder if he's still single?! Back to that signature sandwich...the Roy. G. Biv. - 7 minute egg, herbed butter, cheddar, pickled veggies, brioche ($10). And, what's a breakfast sandwich without bacon (+$3) and avocado (+$2) so I added them both. Gluten-free bread available for +$2. Eye of the Avocado also sells a handful of pastries and coffee. I know $15 is a lot to pay for a breakfast sandwich for a non-sit down restaurant (there's only 3 counter seats and a bench outside) but you're paying for top-notch ingredients here and supporting a small local business. The Roy. G. Biv. may very well be the contender for one of best breakfast sandwiches in San Francisco (with a few tweeks): http://bit.ly/2iMMVrF. The brioche is buttered before toasting which creates sumptuously caramelized edges. The thick bacon was rich and crispy (not too salty) while the perfectly ripe avocado added another layer of butteryness with the pickled veggies giving a punch of acid. The breakfast sandwich had great layers of flavors and was deliciously satisfying. But, you only get one slice bacon so half of the bites were bacon-less. For the price, you should be able to taste the bacon in every bite. I also wish the egg yolk was runnier. IMO, you can't have the ultimate breakfast sandwich without egg porn. The owner and the cashier were super nice, enthusiastic, and you can tell they love what they do. Eye of the Avocado is only running for a couple of more weeks so go get your mouth around the Roy. G. Biv. while you can!
