This place is the definition of chill. I came to Santísima Flor de Lúpulo in order to try more of the local craft beer. I had a taster tray of their beer and it was... ok, but not great. I believe part of this was due to the pumpkin ale on tap, the type of seasonal beer that I rarely crave. Santísima was one of the few bars I went to where the servers spoke English and I realized that the majority of the people in the bar with me were travelers as well. It's definitely not what I would consider a local hangout, but it's a hipster joint for global travelers to pass through while visiting this part of the city. Should you go? Of course. Stop by. Chat with the bartender. Talk to the other travelers. And taste some of the beer. You might not like it, but at least you can say you tried. read more

Really enjoyed this place. We randomly stumbled across it and were very happy that we did. The atmosphere was perfect. Somewhat intimate but not stuffy at all. Good music but not too loud. The beer - Very good. Considering that i found it in Oaxaca and not the states, incredibly good! They had three beers that they brewed in house. All three were good for what they were. I would break each beer down but they told me they change then regularly. The selection of beers was also the most extensive by far that we came across in Oaxaca. They also had a great variety of spirits they you typically don't find in Oaxaca. They had Glen Levits which really surprised me. The food - we had just missed their happy hour which allows you to buy a burger with your flight of beers for about $1USD. We did however try their tapas. We let the cook pick them. It was an option to have them pick. We received 6 different varieties and they all ranged from good to great. read more

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, away from the bustle but close to the action. You can order from the excellent deli next door and have your meal in the bar. Chill downtempo music. The one drawback is you can't get free samples if you want to try one of their beers. However, you can order a 5 ounce glass. They had 2 of their beers on tap on my visit. Both were good. read more

I work at a brewery, so I wanted to make sure I visited this spot while I was in Oaxaca. I'm so glad I did! It's a relatively small space, with the ability to have three beers on tap, which to me made their operation more impressive. I spent a long evening here, and both the bartender and a brewer made themselves available to questions about their operation (even questions about how and when they rotate kegs). They also had a nice craft bottle selection, which was nice for me, since I'm not from the area and wouldn't have the opportunity to drink local/regional craft beer elsewhere. I also had a delicious charcuterie & cheese board from the restaurant next door - love the partnership there. Again, I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a chill yet tasty evening in Oaxaca. I'll definitely return on my next visit! *Edit: I've noticed a few reviews commenting that they weren't allowed to sample. I'd just like to note that they are a SMALL place, with three taps - it likely does not make business sense for them to sample...they aren't trying to give you a hard time. You can buy a small pour for a very good price if you're wanting to try before you buy! read more

Great little spot for good microbrews. When I went in they had three beers on tap. All were quality and there was a new rotation coming in the next few days. All beers are brewed on site and it was refreshing to have some decent microbrews while in Mexico. We also had their sliders which were also delicious. The bread was baked there and the bacon was also cured on site. The bartender was extremely knowledgable and friendly. read more

When in Oaxaca drink Bohemia. Or better yet this microbrewery has all the right stuff. Their IPA had great west coast IPA flavors. You can get tasty treats to go along with your very tasty beers. Great small brewpub with several tasty brews and a full bar with excellent, friendly service just off the main tourist track. The bar connects to the Gourmand deli next door so you can order inexpensive sandwiches, salads, and tasty charcuterie plates while you drink. If you time it right you might get an occaisional whiff of their freshly baked bread. read more

A nice bar with a great selection of delicious food from local specialities to favorites from home. Cocktails were the best I had in Oaxaca, choose anything made with the house mezcal and it will blow your mind, or if mezcal isn't your thing they can make any other cocktail you like.
