Erica is the best hairdresser in the entire US, my hair always looks like a celebrity hair , I am not joking , she is the best !

Really sad and disappointed during my appointment. I had gone online and requested someone to contact me for an appointment. Erica called and we discussed that I wanted a very simple and soft hairstyle for my wedding and that I wanted to do it as early as possible because as the bride I have other responsibilities at my venue, I also needed to get my makeup done. We set the time for 10am. When we arrived at the salon, apparently Erica called out(with no notice to me) and double booked another stylist for two appointments at 10am. The lady working there decided to take the other lady first even though I had arrived first. they explained that they were gonna help her out first and me having wedding anxiety asked how long it was going to be because I really needed to be at my venue by 12pm and I had booked my appointment at 10 so I wouldn't worry about being late. They said it would be a 20minute wait. Okay. Whatever. We left and set a timer for 20 minutes. We came back and I wasn't seated until 10-50-11am, definitely NOT 20 minutes later. I showed them a reference picture, but basically explained that I wanted something very simple, very soft, maybe half up half down and some waves/curls, didn't want a whole lot of product. They agreed and she started working on my hair. Now I can admit this is maybe my fault, I could've stopped the stylist at any time I wanted, I could've questioned her actions, but I wanted to trust the process. Big $75 mistake. She over-sprayed my curls so they were very stiff and crunchy. She burned my hair and didn't mention it to me(they assumed I could speak Spanish and were conversing between themselves about how she accidentally left the curler too long on my hair and how the burn is noticeable). She then preceded to SLICK BACK my hair with gel and use rubber bands to tie two pony tails in a definitely NOT half up half down hair style. Sure the reference picture was a little different than what I asked for, but nowhere in the reference picture did the model have slicked back hair and burnt curls. My hair was so stiff and crunchy it was giving me a headache. We were finished at 11:50 giving me only 10minutes to get to my venue an hour away. I reluctantly paid and I went to my car to cry. My maid of honor reassured me we could fix it, we got to the venue and we took it all out. She had used MULTIPLE rubber bands for the two pony tails and we had to cut them off with scissors because they wouldn't come out any other way. We sprayed my hair with water and brushed through it. Had barely enough time to do my makeup. My wedding ended up being a success but my hair was a nightmare, I managed to brush out my curls and it all ended up looking like I didn't even care about my appearance for my WEDDING!! They were nice to customers, yes, however they would bad mouth them in Spanish, sometimes even when the customer was in the same room. They were unorganized and unprofessional. I've had a massage here twice and Becky is fantastic! She is very attentive to the client's needs and deliberate in her technique. She provides feedback on what she notices with your body. She uses lotion, as oppose to oil, which is nice. The bed is comfortable and the bolster she uses is great because it's a little larger than the usual size. The whole experience was very relaxing. The heat pads and heated towels are a nice touch too. I also really appreciate that the room is not too bright during the session. I've not had a haircut here, but all of the salon staff are very nice. read more

I made an appointment late in the day for a keratin treatment and hair cut. It takes few hours for this and Erica graciously agreed to take me. When I came in, I was offered a drink and sat in a freshly sanatized chair. Erica has a pleasant, personable demeanor, and explained what worked for me and how to take care of my hair for it to last. She did an amazing job, my hair has never felt/looked so nice! The prices are more than reasonable for the services offered and the products are professional quality. Erica even took the time to explain the permanent makeup they offer and I am excited to book an appointment to get it done. I will definitely come back! read more

Came in for a simple haircut. I specifically stated I didn't need a shampoo or blow dry, I just asked her to spray down my hair with a water bottle as I had several appointments that day. She patronized me by stating she doesn't cut hair dry (she missed the part about spraying my hair down with water) and insisted I get a shampoo. After repeatedly saying no to Shampoo, my hair was wet enough for the cut. I should have left right then and there. I part my hair on the side so I always tell the stylist to cut my hair with the part so my layers will be even. She did not. She parted my hair down the middle and proceeded with the hair cut. Now, when I go to style my hair, the layers on the left side of my head is 2 inches shorter than my right. I'm 52 years old and I didn't appreciate being belittled or treated like this was my first haircut. I know what works for me, I explain this to any stylist I go to and I expect them to follow my instructions. It's not that difficult. This place does not listen. Please spend the extra 15 minutes to go to Warrenton for a quality hair cut where they listen to you and treat you with respect. read more

I just got my hair cut at Salon Genesis in Bealeton, VA. 6364 Village Center Drive. It is a relatively new store, well organized, extremely clean, with an friendly, gracious staff. Very affordable. Well stocked with products - shampoos, conditioners and the like. I was very happy with the haircut, and delighted to see a successful new business in Bealeton. read more
