You get greeted as you walk in by friendly staff who is attentive and know their sandwiches. I had their mortadella and pesto sandwich on focaccia bread. You can pick focaccia or ciabatta. This spot has a soothing vibe. Unfortunately, the location is a bit tucked away from the rest of Hollywood. It doesn't help that downtown Hollywood is also like a ghost town. If this place was in Miami or downtown Fort Lauderdale, I know it would be busy all the time. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are phenomenal. With that said, they are quite pricey for what you get. Yes you are technically paying for the quality but they are just sandwiches. In Brickell, no one would bat an eye but in the area it's in, makes you second think whether to go there or somewhere else. Is this place worth trying? Absolutely. The five year olds order was salmon on toast and we were forgoing the sour cream, dill, capers, tomato, basil and olive Oil. Still, I wanted to make sure this wasn't a money issue, so I explained I would be willing to pay for the jam, but the employee flat out refused, saying, "I don't have a button in my computer for jam. Would you like to order anything else?" So I asked if she could share the name of the manager, who she said is Ennie. And based on the tone and attitude of her response, I knew it was probably a good training opportunity for a manager, owner or supervisor. When I asked for her own name she refused and pointed to a sign behind the counter that said she reserves the right to refuse service. Very hard to park , obviously not their fault . The young lady at the counter was very friendly and polite .I asked for a modification of a sandwich and they do not , so I tried the first one on the menu and will go back and try them all, just as the chef intended for them to be eaten . Wow this place was amazing!! Filling a much needed hole in broward for great Italian sandwiches. We had the Il Classico and the I'm Golden Sandwiches. Both were amazing but the Classico stole the show. They also had fresh squeezed OJ, an amazing matcha and fun Italian soda flavors. Everything we had was incredible and the little cafe itself is beautiful. The owner moved here from Cali and has dreams of expanding so please try this place and convince him to open one in DTFL so I have it closer to home!!!! There was no friendly explanation or attempt to make us feel welcome--just a cold, dismissive attitude. What made the experience even worse was the way we were spoken to. The manager came across as impatient, condescending, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Good hospitality starts with treating people with respect, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here. I understand that every restaurant has its own policies, and requiring customers to order before sitting is perfectly fine if that's the rule. The issue wasn't the policy it was the rude and unprofessional way it was communicated. A little kindness and basic courtesy go a long way. There are plenty of restaurants in the area where you're treated with respect from the moment you walk through the door. The staff is very kind and my drink and food came out quickly. I got the mango matcha with oat milk (they also offer regular and almond milk) and it was one of the few matchas I've had in South Florida that is very good. They source their matcha powder from Japan and you can tell. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich on ciabatta. It was quite big and had a lot of great flavor with the roasted veg. Their bread is also super fresh and I believe it is made in house. I'm sure their other sandwiches are delicious as well, and I would love to come back to try. As someone who works within walking distance, it's so great to have quality food that's not just catering to tourists. We shared the Giardinera on ciabatta and the I'm Golden on focaccia. Hard to choose a favorite. I love the roasted red pepper spread on the giardinera with the mortadella and fresh arugula but the truffle cream and stracciatella on the I'm Golden make it so hard to choose. The music that pumps is soft but extremely catchy. As you get lost in your coffee and matcha, you easily find yourself vibing. We got the sosta matcha which was sooo good. A foamy matcha over some apple juice, the refreshing matcha tea we needed for the summer. The. We had their Roman espresso, inside you'll find a surprise lemon and it's served with an almond that perfectly pairs the drink. On to the sandwiches, I love that I got to ask the team for suggestions. We got their classic Toscano and the mortadella with pesto. Both were big. Both were fresh. You can pick the bread for the toast or sandwich and the team is ready to help you with that suggestion. The salmon toast did not skimp on the salmon. I walked in with my dog and due to their open kitchen I unfortunately couldn't sit inside but luckily was pleasantly offered a table outside to accommodate my dog and me. I was then introduced with a menu and the gentleman walked me through the entire menu and after some hard decisions, I decided on the off menu yellowtail tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread. It was indeed an explosion of flavors; arugula was met with a lemon aioli, cold tuna with capers and sun dried tomatoes on perfectly toasted crispy ciabatta bread. There was no "strategy" used, nice try. I have an allergy to peanuts exclusively. Like I said, pine nuts in pesto is the standard. The attendant was noticeably rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for our visit. The coffee itself was bland and uninteresting, especially considering the premium pricing. What was most upsetting, however, was how my children were treated. This is clearly not a kid-friendly environment. The cashier looked at my kids with visible irritation and judgment, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. No parent should feel judged simply for bringing their children into a public establishment. We felt discriminated against simple because we wanted to have lunch and came with children. I spent over $90 here, only to feel mistreated and undervalued as a customer. For those prices, basic courtesy and hospitality should be the standard.
