I am proud to say I was one of the first patrons of The Works when their first location opened in New Edinburgh in Ottawa. Sadly, it has since moved and that location has closed (as it was so popular and so small) and the business has changed hands a few times since it first opened. While it will never be quite the same and the burger-topping-combination options have significantly decreased, it's still a really fantastic and unique burger experience! My favourite is currently rendered to as "the hipster": avocado, Havarti, and caramelized onions with a portobello patty. This particular location is a decent size and has brought back vibrancy to an otherwise suffering mall on Fallowfield. Good service and decent parking - recommended for a fun night with friends as an alternative to pubs or bars.

If you are looking for good eats and fantastic service-you've found it! Our first visit to The Works certainly won't be our last. Upon entering this casual eatery with a rustic meets industrial vibe, we were greeted with a smile from our server. We took a nice seat by the window and Dana asked us if it was our first visit. She assured us that even though the menu could be intimidating with so many combinations and choices, that we could add our substitute anything we wanted. My husband ordered the Smoky Mountain with a side of sweet potatoes fries and a ranch dipping sauce. I ordered the Ho Hum 2 with extra mushrooms, sweet potato fries and a Chipotle dipping sauce. Once our food was served, Dana was quick to make sure everything was perfect. I asked to switch out my dipping sauce and she was did so with a smile. The food was great. We'll cooked, tasty, well seasoned but what made the difference here was the service. Our waitress could give a master class on perfect timing, courtesy and professionalism. There's no doubt we will be back to this location!

Grab a milkshake to go! This was the chocolate chip cookie chef creation! :)

I went here back in the day when it first opened; the burgers are always a solid choice, and it's fun to pick the ones with lots of toppings! My favourite thing here are the milkshakes; they are VERY thick, and they have creative combos as well. You can grab them to go! Their appetizers are also really delicious, such as the tower of rings paired with their own sauces. Very satisfying! What would make it better is more gourmet toppings, and some healthier options.

Wow, this place is great! The service was excellent and the burgers were HUGE! seriously, they were so big they were hard to bite into. They have a huge selection of burgers and have a gluten free bun which was alright. The kitchen forgot the little extras I ordered on my burger but our waitress was quick to remedy the problem. I really like all the burgers, but I wish their was a "build your own burger" option since they have so many amazing toppings. The prices were many a little high, but you get a lot of food so I'm not gonna complain too much. What impressed us the most was the service, our waitress was so personable and attentive. We will be back again!

The "Sexy burger" it was AMAZING!

It had been 2 years since we last went to the Fallowfield location because it was such a hot mess with their management and products.

The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here. We shared a cheeseburger ($9.50), a chicken sandwich ($12.95) and an order of fries ($5). The cheeseburger was a smash burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and their burger sauce. There was too much sauce for my liking and the meat was too salty for my tastes, but other than that the burger was ok. The meat was smashed really thin and the edges were crispy. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich more. The chicken sandwich had a breaded chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles and chicken sauce. We got ours medium spice. It wasn't spicy at all, lol. The chicken was a good thickness and was tender and moist. We enjoyed this more than the cheeseburger. I liked that the bun they use is a plain bun without seeds in it. The buns were soft. The fries were a good portion size. I'm glad we shared one portion. They were hot and crispy and had the skins on. They were regular cut, not skinny, but not too thick. You order at the cash register, pay and they give you your order number. When your food is ready they call out your number and bring it to your table if you're dining in. When you're done, you throw out your own garbage and stack the empty tray on top of the garbage area. Service was pleasant and the food didn't take long. There are seats inside to dine in and also seats on the patio out front. There's a single universal washroom that is wheelchair accessible for the entire restaurant. Since the restaurant is small, I feel this was sufficient. It was clean. Street parking or paid parkade parking only. Review #187 (2025)

Cool place with some front window seats, 4 booths and a larger table that fits 10 or so people. Their specialty looks to be a juicy lucy aka patty stuff with cheese the melts when you cook it. I ended up getting a cheeseburger combo. The burgers are good. They're in tough competition with some really good burgers down the street...which are about $10+ more expensive though. Combo your meal for $4 which gives you fries and drink. I enjoy the fries as well. They also have some interesting sides like tornado fries, poutine, sweet potato fries and a few others which I think you can upgrade to. I'll be back to try other things but wanted to put it in your radar if you're in the area.

I didn't even know this was a thing before I stepped into this restaurant. The lovely lady at the front explained that it's essentially a halal way to have bacon, and it is pretty similar. Not quite bacon, but a good alternative. We added it to our burger but I ate it separately to get the full experience. I would go back here! Not sure I would add the bacon, but I would certainly enjoy a burger again.
