I have been here many times and have always had great scalp massages that helped relieve my chronic headaches. The last person who did it was excellent, and my headache completely went away. This time, however, a male therapist performed the massage, and he was extremely aggressive. I repeatedly told him that the pressure was too much. He would ease up briefly, then go right back to using excessive force. While my headache did go away, I lost a significant amount of hair during and after the massage. It has now been a week, and I am still losing hair. My scalp and temples are still sore from what felt more like a "massacre massage" than a relaxing treatment. He pulled my hair far too hard, and I am losing gobs of hair as a result. Not only that, but my entire body tensed up from the aggressiveness of the massage. I ended up with what feels like a pinched nerve running from my neck down to beneath my shoulder blade. This experience was painful and upsetting. This therapist should not be using this level of force on clients. I am genuinely concerned that someone could end up seriously injured. First time going to this massage parlor and won't be returning. My massage lady was a woman that must have been in her 80s and half asleep. She didn't really massage or focus on any major muscle group. She simply glided her hands across my body, my back and press down but didn't really massage. As she was massaging me, she kept falling asleep and I had to nudge her to wake her up and continue. The stones she put on my back, we're extremely hot, as well as dripping water that smelled like dirty rags. When she got to my feet, she would dig her thumb into my foot and keep it there, but wouldn't actually massage anything. Again, through all this, she was falling asleep. Leaving a one star review after receiving a massage should tell you everything.. what was supposed to be a relaxing massage turned into a painful massage.. overall it was a bad experience I left the place worse than how I went in. What was supposed to be a couples massage my wife and I ended up in separate rooms. First and last time trying this place! Came in for a 60 minute "couples massage" and to begin with, we were in separate rooms so not really a couples massage, and well thought it is what it is at least we are getting massages. My masseuse had no idea what she was doing. For approximately 35-40 minutes all she did was go up and down my back pressing down on my body and holding it for 40 seconds in each spot. I thought it was never going to be over. She then brought out hot stones which were extremely hot literally burning my back, thought it was just mine but my husband later told me his were extremely hot as well. She then proceeds to "massage my feet" which really seemed like she was just moving her thumb across my foot, my 6 year old niece does a better job. She has me face up and proceeds to massage my face right after she just touched my feet with her bare hands! Yes, I know it's my own feet but lady I just stepped on your dirty floor. I couldn't wait for this massage to be over, I almost asked her to cut it short but was holding on to hope that at least a part of it would be nice but it wasn't. Once we are done, my husband hands over $20(2 $10 bills) to his masseuse and asks her to give $10 to mine. Well as we are walking out, my masseuse is yelling "lady lady where's my tip?" This place was just as I imagined. Little areas sectioned off for massages. I called ahead and I think there was a language barrier. When I arrived about 10 minutes later, a lady greeted me and pantomimed a phone call. I assumed she asked if i had just called. The lady showed me the price list and I made my selection. The prices were more than what I saw online. She took me to a section and she whispered many things to me. I finally had to tell her I did not understand. I have no idea what she was asking. Maybe about the height of the back of the chair. It was very difficult to communicate and luckily I didn't need anything. I just wish that I could under her better. The massage went great. My main complaint is the share space. One customer kept having his phone ring and we would just let it ring. One one occasion he answered the phone and had a full on conversation. Another male customer arrived about half way though my session and didn't know how to use his whisper voice. It would have been nice if these people were encouraged to not take phone calls and to keep their voice to a whisper. Overall, this place is close to home and pretty convenient. In town for one night; after driving 4+ hours... saw this place close to our hotel thought it would feel good to get the muscles loosened up a bit after the drive...We got in a room as soon as we walked in and while I had a female therapist my wife had a male therapist. - non issues there - The problem is/was that neither one of them actually did a therapeutic massage it was so soft on the body that the body did not get any relief from an hour of this "MASSAGE". Came out of the room and BOTH of us were so DISAPPOINTED at the service!! No I will not recommend this establishment as i do not want other folks to have a negative experience specially when traveling. I called and made an appointment for 8:15 PM for a couples massage: We arrived at 8:10 and waited a while to be taken back. The rooms where partitioned by curtains. One lady came in and started to massage my partner at 8:30. I laid there a couple mins before realizing there was no one coming for me just yet so she flipped me over and I starred at the clock bc I wanted to make sure we both got our 60 mins by the time we got up from the bed. A man came in at approx 8:40 PM and started to massage me. His pressure was good but his movements were rushed as if he was in a hurry. The man told me he was done at 9:30. I asked my partner how it was he replied it was not good. That the lady that started the massage was usually the woman who answers the phone. Within 20 mins after starting he said someone else came in and finished the massage for the remainder of time. Since both massages were not as expected we brought this up to the lady in the front. She said the clocks were different in both the front desk and the room and we misunderstood. She also said that it was one person who did the massage and she was a doctor in a her country. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Second time here , one thing I don't like is that they ask you to you pay before your massage. I had made an appointment for 3 people. If you get lucky and get the elderly lady she does a good job. I live 2 min away so it was convenient for me and i really want it to love it specially for the fact that you get a free massage after going 10 times. However the massages suck! The only one that does a good job in my opinion are the couple that own the place. Last time i came the receptionist did my massage it wa shard to relax because she was answering phones while massaging me and talking to other staff. I'm like wooooah she just smiled I was so confused what it was for but it was for my back .. why would u throw the towel on my belly like that tho , handed it to me or placed it or maybe throw it on a chair but the way that towel was thrown on me I'm like Wtf ??? ... I'm saying I been coming here with you guys wayyyyy too long I'm sure I know how this is supposed to work ... and to top it off the massage was toooo tooo rough I told ms joy SEVERAL times she was beating me up and she didn't care idk if she assumed me being bigger I needed all that pressure but it was the contrary ! Nice looking place but that's about it for me. When I asked for Package A I just wanted my feet, calves and knees done. Then he's just staring at me and keeps pointing to the package A. I asked do you understand what I am asking and then walks away and comes back with an older woman and I tell her the same thing and she has to explain it to him. He started of with my feet in the wooden bucket and kept pushing my legs apart as he was massaging the calves which in return is pushing my legs into the wooden bucket and hurting for 15 minutes. Then the same repetitive motion on each leg. This was not very effective massage. Then I went to pay and gave him my debt card and he's giving a dirty look and says here and I says there nothing on the screen. That's for tip and I said no tip there I was going to give cash. It seems he did not know how to work the merchant machine because he had to run to the back again. In looking at reviews it seems like a lot of spas changed due to the pandemic. Some local ones had really bad reviews so we decided to go back to our old one prior to the pandemic. We were pleasantly surprised with the place. It looks like their is new ownership and they refurbished and reorganized the inside of the shop.
