La Taqueria has been on my radar for years and just never had an opportunity to check it out. I finally did today. Given the number of reviews for its location, it appears to be a local staple for Mexican food. The menu was a good size and they had a lot of different choices of meat choices for tacos. My review today is based on the taco dinner that I ordered. I went with my standard go to selection for tacos in a dinner: Tripa dorada, Al Pastor and Asada. I can definitely say that it was all very different, in a positive way. Their tripa dorada was fried to almost a chicharron (pork rind). I've only had tripa done this way in a few other places and it's not common. The Al Pastor was different from what I've had anywhere else. The meat selection was different. The marinade was different and was more on the sweeter side.....some kind of sweet spice, I can not point it out. The carne asada was also a very different cut. It was nicely chopped. The meat was very tender and was easy on my bite as I ate. Despite all the differences that I am pointing out, the food definitely felt fresh and good quality. This is perhaps why it has as many reviews as it does, they want to be selective and not afraid to do it slightly different than everyone else. The portions were very generous. The salsas were also good. They have one green salsa and two red salsa options. One red salsa was spicier than the other. Another highlight were the Totopos (chips). They looked home made, made in house unlike a lot of places where chips may be processed. The only thing that I would critique was that my asada had a noticeable oil drip, more than I would have liked. That's the only thing I would say. If you sit down to eat, they bring chips and salsa. Now they have a wonderful habanero sauce on the table that is worth mentioning. I have not found anything here that I didn't care for. I never knew this place was here, it hidden behind the midas. I walked in and it pretty big inside. They had Mexican music playing and they have a couple of tvs. I sat down and the waitress asked if I like some to drink and they have four different kinds of Mexican fresh water. I got a maracuyá fresh cold water. The taste was very good. She brought me chips and salsa, I look at the salsa and it was super chunky and I tried it and it had a kick to it and it was good like a ranchero sauce. I ordered goridita de chorizo, steak taco Mexican style, Cesena taco Mexican style, Chile relleno taco plain. I started with cesena taco and the meat was super tender and super juicy and the flavor of it was really delicious. If you don't like onions make sure to tell them because it has sautéed onions. I would say it was my favorite taco. The steak was good but it was well done but the choose of cut of meat was good. The chile relleno was delicious like at home mom style. The gordita was good I would say the chorizo would of beben even better if it was crispy with the cheese. Overall this place is good and would recommend. Staff is super nice, seems family owned. Awesome experience here. Only ordered takeout, but the food was delicious (I ordered the steak and Al pastor tacos and I think the Al pastor was my fave) as well as a tamale that was also incredible. My food was ready even quicker then they said (I think 10 min or less) and it was fresh and hot when I got it. The lady who took my order over the phone and also took my payment in the store was over the top nice and made me feel right at home with awesome customer service. Great place to get authentic Mexican food. As a vegetarian, I usually go for the veggie burrito, which is really good. They also have a lot of sauces that are unique and much needed to add some flavor. The burrito is pretty big and filling, so have a big appetite when you're going here! My niece went here and suggested that we try it as well, so my husband, niece and I all went there 02/13/2025. Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start. Little hole in the wall in a strip mall and it's currently MY FAVORITE Mexican restaurant. We were welcomed the second we walked in, told to sit anywhere and then a gentleman came up shook our hands, welcomed us, gave us menus and chip and salsa which were amazing. We ordered our food which the portions were HUGE and the meals were delicious and flavorful. The prices were very reasonable for the portions that you received. The menu has a lot of nice selections as well. I do believe there will be something for everyone. We will most certainly be returning to this restaurant. read more

I liked this unassuming hole in a wall Mexican place. Everything was fresh and the service was nice (they were slow serving our party of 8 but were really polite). I got shrimp tostadas and was really with my choice. The tostadas was freshly served with salsa, freshly squeezed lime juice, cooked shrimps and topped with a generous serving of avocado. It was definitely refreshing and didn't make me feel ugh like sleepy from eating carby + oily food at all. The food portion was also huge (for my 3 tostadas and other dish that my colleagues got), so bring your appetite here! Authentic! Delicious tacos with great grade of meat and great seasoning. I ordered from here for delivery through Ubereats and even though I wasn't there- you can taste the freshness of the food. The torta includes beans and avocado which is the preferred way for a true Mexican sandwich. The quesabirrias are delicious and heavy on the meat and cheese (wouldn't expect any less). The rice and beans were freshly made and well cooked. Kudos to their salsas. The green is mild and the red is the hot one.However, both have great taste. I ordered their 3 leches cake. Went here on Friday, ordered five steak burritos for the family. Got home and what we received was five bean burritos mildly seasoned with steak. The steak tasted great just wish the burritos had more than a qtr once of steak. It was so bad, I truly feel like they stole money from me. Nice place and even nicer owners! Went on a Tuesday night. There was steady stream of people getting to go orders and there were other patrons in the restaurant. I got the Flauta dinner and my girlfriend got the taco dinner. The helpings were enough to satisfy you. I had chicken flautas and the chicken was cooked in a ranchero sauce so it gave more flavor than expected. My girlfriend had chorizo tacos and the tacos were stuffed with chorizo. I enjoyed the rice and beans with the dinners. The chips and salsa was good too! I wanted the hibiscus drink but the gentleman said he didn't make any that day, he let me try a watermelon mango mixture which was delicious. You could tell he took pride in his juices. I was looking forward to my Chile Rellenos dinner. Every Mexican Restaurant I go to I make this is my go to food, so I've had a lot of them. These are THE WORST I've ever had. The Chile wasn't chard. They weren't soft. The egg batter wasn't tasty. The cheese inside wasn't melted. What was melted was the velveeta type cheese the 2 peppers were swimming in. YUCK!!! I'll be honest, I was really expecting to be wowed based on all the prior reviews. But alas.. I was not. This is a fast food turned sit-down Mexican joint and they pretty much have what you'd expect on the menu. One basket of chips and salsa is complimentary but the next one will cost ya. Chips were good but the salsa tasted a bit funky - maybe old - but definitely not good. Weird how even when something tastes gross I have an inkling to try it several times to pinpoint the problem, but this one eluded me. Something in there was off. I ended up ordering the taco dinner - I tried one pork, one chicken, and one steak - all Mexican style on a corn tortilla with cilantro and onion. Every one of them was dry. Definitely overcooked and definitely no bueno. So why the 3 star review you're asking? The horchata was easily the best I've ever had. And that alone is worth 3 stars in my book.
