Bryan was such a great bartender, and waiter. He pressed the watermelon juice himself and added coconut liquor with lime my drink. My crab cakes were delicious and the palm fried cuplet was filled with shrimp well seasoned and shedded mango and cabbage. The drinks were amazing. Grey Goose with pineapple juice. Watermelon fresh juice with tequila and lime and fresh mint We stayed downstairs and it was an open room with windows everywhere open and Big circling fans. Best food I've had on the island! Bryan and Jirell hooked it up- best service I could possibly recommend! This venue gives a "mom and pop" vibe while delivering flavor and hospitality. I never imagined I'd be writing a review like this, but people deserve to know what happened. Our family visited La Terraza in Dorado expecting a relaxing meal. Instead, one of the employees--described as a shorter, heavy-set man with a beard working at the front--physically grabbed my 14-year-old nephew by the arm because he apparently thought he was someone else. Let that sink in. An adult employee put his hands on a child before even figuring out who he was. Rather than politely asking a question or apologizing for a case of mistaken identity, his first reaction was to grab a minor. There is absolutely no excuse for that. You don't put your hands on someone else's child. Ever. My nephew was simply there with his family trying to enjoy dinner. No parent should have to worry about an employee assaulting their child because of some mistaken assumption. I am following up with the Dorado Police regarding this incident because I believe it crossed a line that should never be crossed. If management values its reputation, it should review its surveillance footage, identify the employee involved, and take immediate corrective action. Customers deserve to know they can dine here without being subjected to physical confrontations. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone--especially families with children. There are too many great restaurants in Puerto Rico to risk having an employee mistake your child for someone else and decide that grabbing them is an acceptable way to handle it. I hope management takes this seriously, because if this happened to my family, it could happen to yours. read more

Our first time visiting Dorado and we wanted to have dinner nearby so we decided to try this spot. I was not disappointed! I ordered a cocktail called Mula de Oro which was insanely delicious. For my main course I ordered the grouper appetizer (fish strips) with a side order of arroz mamposteado. It was the perfect meal! The grouper was lightly breaded and fried. It wasn't oily at all and very flavorful. The rice was also very delicious. It had the perfect amount of "sabor". The portions are generous but I did order dessert just to try the flan de queso. Zero regrets, it was delicious and unlike any other dessert I've ever had. Just imagine cheesecake merging with flan drizzled with caramel... The service was great, both Spanish & English are spoken here so don't be intimidated if you're not a native. Hice una reservación para 12 personas, ya que estábamos celebrando el cumpleaños de mi mamá, y desde el inicio el servicio fue extremadamente lento. Todo era un dolor de cabeza; incluso tuvimos que levantarnos varias veces de la mesa para solicitar cosas básicas. Si le pudiera dar menos de una estrella lo haría. Para comenzar, se ordenaron unas tiritas de pollo con arroz y habichuelas para los niños, las cuales tardaron aproximadamente una hora en llegar. Durante ese tiempo preguntamos en múltiples ocasiones por el estado de la comida y no recibimos respuestas claras. Luego pedimos aperitivos: 2 tuna tartar, 2 pulpos y 1 chorizo al vino. Estos tardaron alrededor de 1 hora y 45 minutos en llegar, algo totalmente inaceptable para platos relativamente sencillos. Además, trajeron dos platos que nunca fueron ordenados. La situación empeoró con los platos principales. Se ordenó un rib eye término medium rare y llegó "well done". El acompañante, un supuesto arroz mamposteao, era simplemente arroz con color y habichuelas, sin ninguna preparación adecuada. El chillo fresco llegó seco y frío. En otras palabras, no tenía sabor. Los dos mofongos (uno de camarones y otro de pollo) también llegaron completamente fríos. El risotto de langosta fue lo único aceptable, aunque el sabor no destacaba y la porción de langosta no llegaba ni a 6 oz. Las carnes fritas con tostones estaban completamente quemadas. Todo esto tardó más de una hora adicional, sin ninguna justificación, y aun así la comida llegó en malas condiciones. En ningún momento se nos informó sobre el retraso ni recibimos disculpas. Estábamos ubicados en el segundo piso y tuve que bajar personalmente a solicitar hablar con un gerente. La única excusa que nos dio fue que había mucho volumen de clientes y poco personal, lo cual no es cierto, ya que cuando llegamos solo había entre 3 y 4 mesas ocupadas; el restaurante estaba prácticamente vacío. Lamentablemente, la experiencia no mejoró con el segundo intento de los platos. El rib eye llegó en el término correcto, pero extremadamente duro, como si no hubiera sido preparado adecuadamente. El mofongo de la cumpleañera estaba duro y sin sabor, y el resto de los platos continuaban con los mismos problemas. Para colmo, en la mesa no había servilletas, los cubiertos eran escasos y, al final, nos entregaron cubiertos plásticos para comer churrasco. The food here was delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive. Richelle got the fish tacos, fried grouper, with Masonry Rice (Arroz Mamposteado). Wonderful fried grouper and a good tater sauce. The masonry rice was a first and it is fantastic. I got the empanado en plantano, grouper breaded with plantain and served with rum and coconut sauce. The grouper by itself is delicious. So if you get this order the sauce on the side, it's cake frosting sweet, you only need a little layer, then this dish is amazing. You can eat the rest of the sauce like a dessert. We order a Terraza Sunrise to share, good thing case there is a stiff pour of rum and liquor, good to share or pour into a sprite!? Only issue is the Diet Coke was mixed wrong so we switched to sprite. It's an open air dining space that is covered, music from the bar/club next door is in the background. My wife enjoyed the red snapper, but I found the salmon filet raw or undercooked halfway through eating it. The manager/waiter was cleaning another table when I asked him to check the fish. He told me to describe the problem while he continued cleaning. I expressed my concern, and he finally came over. Bartender making herself a drink in her sippy cup instead of taking orders. Rolling silverware and cutting limes instead of checking on tables and taking orders (do this before shift and at end). Half the stuff I saw on reviews not on menu. Were there any specials? I thought about going behind the bar myself (ran them for years) just sad sad sad. This place is so bad I felt like I was being pranked. The caesar salad had no dressing, bone dry. I asked for dressing but they never brought it out. The skirt steak which the menu said came with chimichurri sauce and fries came with chopped tomatoes on top. Not chopped tomatoes like pico or salsa, just tomatoes, no chimichurri. The fries were good , but they had no salt. Really bland. I know it sounds like I'm being picky, but I don't usually like salt and I could tell right away the food really needed it. I don't know how they got more than 3 stars. Tacos had tiny pieces of fried fish (2 pinky sizes per taco) with arugula and 2 slices of onions with a wite sauce. Extremely lacking. They said it was fresh and doubted it. We all were very disappointed. Had the majados and it seemed like it was mostly potatoes. Will NEVER go back. Expensive for the lack of effort. We may have hit it on an off quiet night. We booked hoping to have a restaurant view of the ocean, and instead got a view of a warehouse rooftop below. Food was good, but I did see some tables not happy with what they ordered and surprisingly saw ( what I think was a local grandma) send back her food. Not saying it was bad, but grandmas are always a tough critic! My wife's drink was so so and my Mofongo just a bit on the dry side. The fish we ordered was done very well. Service was good and attentive which made up for a few weaknesses. We did not try the rooftop bar, which I am told is the place for music and drinks. We came here for drinks later in the evening when we couldn't get in to the Jose Andres restaurant-- and was happy they stayed open. They have a cute outside bar, and they call the food orders down to the kitchen, and the food comes up with a dumb waiter. It's kind of cute.
