The beans are made from dried refried bean flakes and rehydrated. I believe the rice mixture is the same and it was pretty flavorless as well and had poor texture. Beans and rice are inexpensive and easy to cook from scratch, so I do not understand why any place would serve such inferior food quality. We had a very nice server. I doubt we will be back to purchase pre-made food in the restaurant part of the market, but may stop in to purchase some of the grocery items (dried peppers, dried beans, etc.). It's a cross between a bodega and a Latin market that is talked in a nondescript side street in the fan of Richmond. The owners are wonderful people who will take the time to show you the different products that they have an answer your questions. It is not the largest Latin market I've ever been to, but it had a lot of really good stuff including many of the hard to find spices and dried peppers that go with Latin food. Any chance that we have to support local businesses, we should do so going to this market is a good choice if you live in the Richmond area.
