Hands down, this is the best Farmer's Market/Produce stand I've seen! I'm in the West End and this market in Hanover is so worth the trip! They are kinda a big dill and far from mediokra!! Lettuce just talk about the huge variety! I was blown away by all the different kinds of fruits and veggies here. I'd be hard pressed to name them all, but just check out the pictures! Potatoes and onions and corn, oh my! I bought so much... cucumbers, onions, squash, zucchini, watermelon, tomatoes, peaches, peppers, berries and a dozen ears of the sweetest corn I've ever tasted, it was a-maize-ing! Aww shucks!! The watermelon was perfect, not at all mealy and so delicious! We grilled the squash and zucchini on skewers and they were yummy! The white peaches were juicy and flavorful! I could've bought out the whole store! Loved it from my head to-ma-toes! Ok, enough corny puns... just go and load up on some healthy eatin'! Great prices, service and selection! Peas give them a chance!! They also carried breads and baked goodies, dairy, eggs, meats, cheeses, plants, jams, gifts and flags! I've been trying to romaine calm, but this locally owned and grown shop has me excited! Turnip the beet and head down 301! We're rootin' for ya!

    Juicy huge Hanover Tomatoes!

Found this AWESOME place 5 years ago. If you looking for real deal famers market then this is your place. Owners are serious about their veggies, produce and flowers being the best of the best. Personal favorite is their Hanover Tomatoes and sweet corn on the cob!! When the season comes in you can't find better Hanover Tomatoes Love their homemade desserts. Enjoy getting my wife flowers and of course I get brownie points. Staff is helpful and glad. to carry your purchases to your car of you need help! Sandra and Bill Berry (yes that is their real name) are great folks and run first class business. Don't miss the best farmers market around.

I walked it and was immediately enthralled by the displays, shelving and All the fresh foods! It looked like an old fashioned grocer from yesteryear, but with a modern twist. At first I was just checking the place out... but soon I grabbed a cute wire basket and stocked up on blackberries the size of your thumb! I also got some other fruits and veggies, some local popping corn, some kitchenware, snacks and the creme de la creme... nightingale ice cream sandwiches! The best treats around! Spice up you life in the seasoning shelf... browse the cookbooks... pick up some natural cleaning products... check out the beauty and health section with essential oils! I wasn't going straight home so I had to pass up the dairy case and the frozen foods, but I'll definitely be back for some cage free eggs!! Check out was delightful as the woman thoughtfully and carefully packed my goods. She also looked up sulfite free wines for me and said she hoped to be getting them in. I never mind spending money on great quality and outstanding service. Ya get what you pay for folks, and here you have hit the jackpot! This green grocer is just what this area needed and I hope it sticks around for a long time! It has my support! Hooray for Little House Green Grocery! Ike Godsey would be proud!!

Hell-OOOO Kroger! You're like the girl (guy) next-door I never noticed was hot and then suddenly it…read morewas like, "oh my! How did I not notice?" Except in this case the hot guy/girl is VEGAN OPTIONS. I just stopped in for broccoli which every grocery store has, but then I wandered around, and stumbled upon the unbelievable selection of nondairy cheeses and meat-free deli slices, the old favorites plus plenty of brands that this vegan-of-20+ years has never even seen before. Very IMPRESSIVE. Now I simply had to check out the frozens and DANG if there aren't FIVE full cooler sectionals of plant based meats. All the usual suspects: Gardein, Boca, MorningStar, etc- only even more variety than I usually find elsewhere. OK, obligatory peek at the plant-based milk section. GEE GOLLY WOW. Once again, FIVE full refrigerated sections, top to bottom. You got your oat milk, soy milk, nut milks, vegan creamers, it's all here!! Feel like Kroger has just been hiding its treasure trove of vegan goodness from me and I don't understand. Why didn't anybody tell me? Their public branding is aesthetically so offputting I just assumed the store would be an extension of that annoyance... but if I could go back and change every "5-Star" grocery store I've ever reviewed up until now instantly to a four star just so this review stood out, surely I would. Anyway, finally, we come to the cherry on top: CAST IRON city!! I'm a huge fan of cast-iron and always on the lookout for interesting new pieces, typically there's nothing unique at a grocery store if they have cast-iron at all. But WOWZERS the Lodge display here is incredible. Such variety of pots and skillets, from tiny saucepans, to huge pizza trays, plus the equipment to maintain it in tiptop shape. The store is clean / spacious / well lit / well laid out, in addition to everything else, great prices. It's actually a pleasing place to shop. Even the guy monitoring self-checkout was awesome. Sigh. I really wish there was a Kroger near me. YES: VEGAN FRIENDLY, VEGAN HAPPY

There are things I love about this one and things that are not great…read more What is working: Good organic choices If shopping in store great opportunities for clearance items Store is clean and spacious Drive up service for groceries Gas discounts What's not working: Service-the customer service here is overall poor. Cashiers not greeting, discussing issues with coworkers to other coworkers in front of customers and etc. The cheese section-I can't buy fresh cut cheeses here as they always have picked up a weird flavor like they were packaged in the detergent aisle. I'm not sure where they are prepped or what it is but no matter which cheese you select they have this weird flavor addition of cleaner/laundry detergent. I'm speaking specifically to the ones near the produce section that are wrapped in plastic, weighed and labeled. Stick with Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Wegmans or ALDIs if you're looking to create a cheese board. Regardless of the negatives overall it's a solid location and the negatives don't stop me from shopping here regularly.

I visited Lakeside Farmers Market on a Sunday when they were having their monthly Maker's Market…read more At the Maker's Market, there are vendors who sell various products, including jewelry, jams/jellies, clothing, and other goods. I didn't see many vendors selling actual produce or other things that you would expect to find at a typical farmer's market. I believe the actual farmer's market is held on Saturdays. I arrived at the market shortly after it opened so parking was a breeze in the attached lot. In addition to the different vendors, they had a food truck vendor set up and performances by a local artist. What brought me to the Lakeside Maker's Market was All Dis Puddin, a local small business that sells various types of pudding. Think banana pudding, but with different twists that don't all include bananas. I've been following this business on Instagram for a while, and when I saw that they were going to be at the market during my Richmond visit, it was my golden opportunity! I placed an order in advance to pick it up at the market. After getting my order, I walked around the market some more and checked out some of the other businesses that were set up there. I also came across Loquito Coquito, another business that I've been following on Instagram. I was able to snag their February special, strawberry coquito. As Yelpers, we make a point to support local businesses, and this was a great way to support small, local businesses.
