First Impressions: My stylist, Melissa, appeared unkempt and unprofessional. She looked like she had just rolled out of bed, with messy hair and inappropriate attire. Additionally, she seemed to be sick, with a red nose and constant sniffing, yet she wasn't wearing a mask. This was my first red flag, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. The Haircut: I came prepared with pictures of the angular bob I wanted, a style I've had before and knew suited me. I explicitly told Melissa that I did not want bangs. However, she cut my hair shorter than I wanted and added layers, which resulted in unwanted bangs. My face dropped when I saw the result. The Colour: Melissa misunderstood the colour I wanted, mistaking a grey tone in the reference photo for the desired color. She applied highlights starting at the root, which is not ideal. Although she eventually corrected the toner, the final color was still not what I had asked for. Styling: Melissa finished by blow-drying my hair and using a straightening iron without giving it any shape or style. My hair ended up dry and crispy, leaving me feeling worse than when I walked in. Payment Issues: To add insult to injury, Melissa informed me that the debit machine wasn't working and asked me to send the payment directly to her email. Reluctantly, I complied and sent an e-transfer of $299.80. Follow-Up: Because I was so unhappy with the results, I decided to contact Annie directly. Upon contacting Annie, the owner, I discovered that Melissa had been taking payments to her personal account without reporting the payments to the salon. Annie offered me Melissa's contact information to request a refund, which I found completely inappropriate. After two weeks of no response, Annie informed me that Melissa had been let go and reiterated that I should contact her directly for the refund. This is unacceptable, as the responsibility for the refund should lie with the business owner. Conclusion: My experience at Annie's Beauty Bar was extremely disappointing. The lack of professionalism, poor service, and mishandling of payment issues reflect badly on the business and its owner. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

You can also get a membership for the year which lowers the price of the service - which I love! She can really tailor your perfect set to you. I had my appointment yesterday (Saturday July 28th). I have had lash extensions for the better part of 5 years on and off occasionally to give my eyes a little break. The appointment for a hybrid set of lashes was 2 hours and 45 minutes long, which is much longer than any other lash extension appointment I have ever had (and have a had much fuller sets put in). The lashes felt stiff as well as uncomfortable again something that I have never had happen before. When I got home I was complaining that they hurt and my fiancé took a look and there were a few lashes attached above my lashes just digging into my eyelid (I cannot even explain how this may have happened). Also a few lashes (3 or 4)were like almost double the length of the rest of the lashes in random spots it looked almost comical. I have had probably 30% of the lashes fallout since yesterday. Again I have never lost so a many lashes in such a short period of time (including the time I had a bad reaction to a glue and my eyes watered for days). I mean I got them done yesterday and they are already very noticeably thinner, have huge gaps and are still stiff and painful. Not a great experience at all for me. I did take a few photos of the piles of lashes fallen out already and sent them to my previous lash person who said if they are falling out in clumps (as per my pics) and at the rate I am losing them it probably was not done correctly. There is a blizzard now yet still didn't cancel the appointme and drove all the way to see her. I texted her saying I may be a few minutes late due to the weather. When I got there no lights were on outside the house she does the service at. Email said side door so we stood there and knocked for five minutes. There was no response and we are standing in a blizzard so we decided to knock at the front door. Then she snaps at us because it made her dog bark and really snarky says "It was the side door" I explained we had been knocking for five minutes and there was no answer. She then comes to the side door and just says come in and says I should have texted her saying I was there (despite 1. She knew I had an appointment and was on my way and 2. Never even replied to my text saying I was on my way and would be a little late)... I decided already then that this was a bad idea and I really should have canceled. Didn't even start service and this woman is being horrible to us. I said I would be leaving as I didn't want to bother her further as she made it clear that we were. Then she said whatever then k bye and slammed the door in our face. I would never recommend this unprofessional out of home service to anyone.
