We have purchased Lazy Boy furniture for 28 years and still have several working pieces. However, in 2020 we purchased a sofa and 2 leather rocking recliners. We also purchased the "Gold" warranty package based on what the salesperson told us about the warranty. Well, the leather on one of the chairs is peeling away under the armrest and LB sent a leather guy to the house to look at it. He stated that it could not be repaired but if I had a warranty, LB should do something about it. I also stated that I wasn't worried about it since I purchased the BEST warranty package they offered. (extra 5 years) We were told that the warranty would cover even things like a cat or dog scratch to the furniture for 5 years (April 2020) so we had no worries. I bought into their CRAP and LIES! We have one cat that decided to claw the chair in just a few small spots so first LB said they wouldn't cover that. (again, not what we were told) they also say that the peeling of the leather is a manufacture problem and of course LB no longer carries this chair. So, here we are. WE HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF BY LAZY BOY IN MOBILE, AL. I will share this information on social media and warn others that might buy into their lies to just STAY AWAY. La-Z-Boy furniture has been a family go to for us since I can remember. When we purchased our new home, we stopped into the local store to select a couch. Our purchase experience was comfortable, swift and simple. The associate handled our questions and set reasonable expectations for delivery and answered all of our questions. After that it was a mess, although it was delivered on time, it was the tail end of the window as opposed to in the middle. Second, they would not call us back, we left 4 messages for them and they never called us back, finally on the fifth call I refused and said I would hold until someone gave me an answer to my question. Then they were rude about it, saying I'm very busy, or I don't have time. I was shocked they were so short and rude. They are getting 3 stars cause at the end of the day it was delivered in the window of time promised, the sales associate was very helpful for the purchase, and the delivery crew was awesome! We drove from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to shop for recliners. We found a leather recliner at Lazy Boy that fit our needs. We ordered two, one with the electric options. We were informed that it could take four or so months to get it. After waiting six months with no communication from the store we called and were told another month maybe, month seven we called it will be shipping in a few weeks. Mind you the store never took the initiative to keep us informed. Where is the customer care in that? Eight months and the chair was delivered. This chairs are not inexpensive and boy were they thrilled to see us whip out the dough for them! They were not so please when we called one month later to say the month old recliner was poorly made and the foot rest would not work. I have a bad back and neck and need to be able to recline and adjust the head rest and lumbar. When it took two weeks to get someone out who said we will have to order the part, my spouse called the store to see if the part could be located and over nighted. The manager laughed in his face told him this is "The real World" Is this what Lazy Boy considers Customer Care? This guy is a Jack rabbit! How rude. We finally got the part and now the installers don't do warranty work for Lazy Boy anymore! Wonder why? Does Lazy Boy pay their bills? At a 43percent gross margin on their product they should. So three more phone call since Nov 1 st and we still don't have an appointment for repair and no one will return a call. Nicely done Lazy Boy. By the way customer care will not give me the regional director of stores number or email address. How's that for Customer Care. I can however reach out to the store manager! Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. We purchased two recliners and were told it would be 12 weeks until they arrived. 10 days short of 5 months the entire transaction was completed. They never initiated any contact to keep us informed on delays. When we contacted them, it was always the next day before they gave us an answer. Finally they called with a delivery date. They were quick to contact for the balance due. To complete the poor service, they delivered one chair and left the other one at the distribution center. We had to wait 3 more days for them to rectify that problem. Absolutely an awful experience! read more

I have purchased at Lazy Boy before but this location on Airport Blvd in Mobile Alabama has the worst customer service and after today's experience my wife and I will never shop this location again and may never shop Lazy Boy again-period. We had a tall male salesperson greet us at the door asking what we were looking for today. I told him reclining sofas. I then asked if they sold sofas made from polyethylene and he said no only leather. I then commented I heard polyethylene holds up well. He immediately turned away and walked to the back of the store to a desk and computer without saying a single word. I went to the desk and asked to speak to a manager. I told the lady what had happened. She apologized and asked if she could help us. I said no, that we had had issues with customer service here before and we were taking our business elsewhere. As my wife and I were getting in our SUV this same salesman had followed us to the door and yelled have a great holiday. I told him I could not believe the horrible customer service we received from him and he proceeds to tell me he has been working there 20 years. I asked for his name and he said it's: F- - K you. I went to Lazyboy at 3767 Airport Blvd, Mobile Alabama 36605, on Friday, January 31,2020 and purchased 2 recliners.  While I was conducting business with the salesperson, the manager, Steve Schreiweis, came over with an awful attitude. I told the salesperson that I will not do business with the manager Steve Schreiweis, and I didn't like him. Well, I was able to pick up 1 of the recliners on Friday and I went back Saturday evening to pick up the second one. After I got home I realized that they didn't spray it with the teflon spray. I took the recliner back on Sunday and was with my father (who purchased a sofa and 2 recliners). We were doing business with a nice salesman and I informed him that I didn't want to interact with the manager. So we were talking and resolving the situation and the manager came over and I told him that we had everything handled and he can walk away because I didn't want him to talk to me. The manager began fussing and I pleaded with him to just walk away. Because he would not stop harassing me and fussing, I told him that I just wanted a refund and I would return my recliners.  When I asked the manager for his business card he told me he didn't have any. I asked him to write his name down and he said no. Then I saw his name on a book, which was laying on the desk, I tried to take a picture of the front of the book he grabbed me by my shirt and told me to get out of the store. We got into a verbal argument and he called the police. I walked outside to wait on the police and he came out behind me and started taking a video of me on his phone. I tried to turn my back and walk by my car and he started circling me to record me by putting his phone in my face no matter which way I turned. I then got in my car to wait on the police, he stood in front of my car and started spitting on my car. This is the worst treatment I have ever received from anyone, muchless by a manager. I was completely embarrassed in front of the other customers as well as in front of my 80 year old father. This type of harassment is completely unacceptable. My husband and I drove to the Mobile, AL store today with full intentions on purchasing a recliner. We had done our research and were prepared to make a purchase in-store today. On their website, their Labor Day Weekend hours were listed as 11-6, but when we showed up at 11, they were closed. We waited around for 2 hours until they finally opened. We walked into the fairly empty store and stopped at the electronic temperature monitor to screen our temperatures. We were not greeted by any employee upon entering the store. We then began looking at the recliners and spent about 10-15 minutes trying out different chairs. During this time, many store clerks walked past us, glanced our direction, but failed to acknowledge our presence or ask if we've been helped. As we walked through the store looking at chairs, we noticed rips in products, as well as chairs turned completely upside down. After awhile, we realized no one was going to come assist us and we noticed that a face mask was not being worn by all employees so we decided it best to leave. On our way out, one of the mask-less employees asked if we needed help. We politely said no, and told him that unfortunately, we had been ignored, their hours were listed wrong, AND we wouldn't be helped by an employee without a mask. He rudely laughed in our faces with zero apology, so we left. It was extremely disappointing that they lost our business. We ended up going to Rooms to Go and purchasing a recliner there! read more

This Mobile, Alabama store has had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Too long to explain about all the mistakes they made in ordering, the several weeks with still no refund, the multiple calls I've had to make regarding the refunds, the wrong orders etc. I've purchased from other La-Z-Boy stores for over 20 years, but NEVER AGAIN. A single star is too much! We purchased 2 leather sofas and 2 recliners in 2016, delivered April 2017. The Lazy Boy delivery person pointed out the defects in both sofa cushions and he took pictures to show his supervisor, supposedly to address the problem. Almost 3 YEARS later, we still have no correction! They have had one of our sofas since last JANUARY, this is Sept 2019. They've tried re-stuffing the cushions, readjusting the cushions, ordering new cushions, twice, which mysteriously was never delivered. We've dealt with everyone from the salesperson, upholstery lady to the manager. We have always bought Lazy Boy but never at the Mobile store. I will NEVER buy Lazy Boy again, from any store. I had heard the Mobile store was horrible but I ignored the comment! I should have listened! Also, these were special orders and both recliners were covered in the right fabric but with seams over the arms and across the back and seat. Looked nothing like the style we ordered. My concern was that seams separate but after much reassuring from Dory, our sales person we decided to live with them. Well guess what, the seams on one of the recliners are separating. We do not abuse our furniture so it's not from wear and tear, it happened within the first year. Poorest quality and poorest service I have ever received anywhere!! We're getting our sofa back, as is! We are tired of dealing with them. I will be contacting corporate for the good it will do. I bought 2 recliners at the father's day (Sunday) 2 for one sale. After we selected our recliners we were told that they only had the same recliner in a different color. We said that was fine. Then they couldn't find it so they said they'd bring one over from Spanish Fort for pickup the next day. The next day Pat calls them to see if it arrived. They put her on hold and never picked up the phone again. So she calls back a couple hours later and after another long hold they tell her it didn't come in. They told her we could pick it up the next day. Next day same story.... and so on. She tries to pick it up today and they're closed. It's Thursday and I still don't have my chair. I am so sick of this. They can keep the chair and give me my money back. I won't be doing business with them again. read more

I have had many items in the past from La-Z-Boy most were good products. Last year we brought a sofa and love seat with power recline. We have had it repaired 2 times. Lots of plastic parts the steal for the leg rest can be bent and has to be replaced, once with love seat and once with sofa In the future I will check the parts and how it is made, but never at La-Z-Boy because they are not the La-Z-Boy of the past read more

I would not recommend for anyone to buy from this store. We were told it would take for 4-6 weeks for our couch to be in. Almost 10 weeks later it still has not arrived. For the past 4 weeks we have been told, by the salesperson, it was shipping and that they would check on it. We have gotten that same response every time we have called.
