But to be a salvage store they were a bit overpriced. We didn't we're not willing to pay $139 or even $99 for an out-of-the box scratch and dent chair. Usually these kinds of places have super cheap prices. We may revisit if the prices get cheaper. P.S. we went to the local office supply store and a got a brand new in-the box office chair for $80. Woohoo!

She still made a purchase but wishes she did not. If your hours state you are open until 6, you should not expect customers to be finished shopping until then. If you want to be out the door by 6, close at 5:30. She has plenty of money to spend and loves antiques but obviously will not be back. We antique a great deal and most places we go tell us to take our time even if it is closing time. We always get done and are out by the time stated on the door because we understand wanting to go home at the end of the day.

Chavis was the only one who had the Speed Queen washer/dryers we needed, and Tom knew that, and was super friendly and accommodating. He warned me that I would have to order them as soon as possible once in Alabama, because, like everything, it would be delayed due to supply chain problems. It only took a month to order them and get them here, but by the 4th week we were swimming in dirty laundry. I sent Tom an email and told him this, and he squeezed me in for a faster delivery and installation. Not only was Tom professional and incredibly helpful, talking to me before I'd even shown up here in Alabama, but he was super helpful even after the sale, helping my wife pick out the right appliances for future purchases. All of this was sight unseen. I've never met Tom in person, and we've not even been to the store yet. Tom did all of this through a very lengthy, very friendly email exchange. I'm so thankful for Tom, because in a place where it's hard to even get a plumber or HVAC tech to come out, Tom hooked us up with some very hard-to-find appliances surprisingly quickly. He was also very funny, and very personable, cracking jokes and making a very tough move easier before we'd even gotten here. I just can't thank Tom and Chavis enough. I saw the finished product in my mind and knew they'd be perfect. Two cans of gold spray paint and 2 mirrors cut the next day, and they are absolutely stunning! I also bought 5 pretty gold lanterns for $10 for the set. I planned to hang them around my pergola with citronella candles in them, but one ended up on one of those gorgeous nightstands. He also had a beautiful oak king size bed frame and dresser and mirror. He only wanted about $250 (I think) for the dresser. He also had appliances and small appliances, lamps, dishes, and various furniture. Think of anything you'd put in a storage building...he buys contents of storage buildings when people don't pay their storage fees. You can find a little bit of everything there and the prices are super cheap. He only takes cash, so make sure you take plenty. I'm sure this will end up being a frequent stop for me.

I recently purchased a new bedroom suite from Hanks in Spanish Fort, and I have to say I'm confused by all the low reviews. I worked with James, the manager and after looking at various sets, I chose the one I wanted. I don't do impulse buying, so I waited a few weeks to make sure, then came back in to complete the purchase. Everything handled inside of twenty minutes, max. We set a delivery date; they called the day before to confirm; and the drivers showed up on the date and within the window. They hauled my furniture up two flights of stairs, unpacked it, set it up and placed it right where I wanted. I obviously can't refute others experiences, but having recently arrived in the area, Hanks of Spanish Fort is most definitely on my list for whenever I need furniture in the future.
