Our car club did a road rally to the Labatt brewery in London. We had probably 3 dozen members attend the brewery tour and all were impressed with the wealth of knowledge that was shared. A nice visit to their museum-grade trucks of old was part of the tour. The finishing touch was a beer sampling in their hospitality room, where we not only tasted 5 beers, but we learned about the different ingredients and brewing processes of each. The tour was conducted with each attendee being issued safety glasses and a headset/hearing protection muffs. There were few instances where we could not receive the tour on the headsets, but that was mainly due to becoming spread out and around a corner from the tour guide. Reservations are required. There are certain rules and regulations for attending, and there was a nominal fee, I think it was $5 per adult person. I recommend!! read more

Was looking for something to do, so this tour was totally last minute. I am a bar manager so any information about beers, alcohol or wine is always a plus to know. Our guide was very friendly and she knew exactly what she was talking about. If you and your buddies are beer fans you should really get together and take the tour. read more

The fact that there are only two reviews on this place and both are from out of town tells you all you need to know about how overlooked this place is. It's a fantastic place to bring people from out-of-town, provided they like beer, and once you've been you will find yourself wanting to go back. I'm actually a craft beer guy, but fir starters this place has a beer store on site (Labatt's products only) that is often open on holidays when other options are closed. Although its often quite busy so be prepared to wait in line. Secondly, they offer a beer tour that is pretty cheap ($5-$10?) and is a lot of fun. You could even consider it for a work or social group. The tour takes about 2 hours and includes a full guided tour of the brewery and sampling. Tours run all year round and must be pre-booked by email or by phone. If memory serves you get about five samples or so and offered good value for the price. Most importantly, they have the legendary 'Amber Lounge", which is in essence a bar without a cash register. Which means if you can figure out a way to get invited you will be drinking for free. They quite often make it available for charities and other local agencies. It's an awesome place to be although I have to admit I have not been lucky enough to be invited recently. In closing, this is the birthplace of Labatts and its right here near the downtown of our city. I encourage all Londoners to take a few hours and get to know this place - a local landmark and known now around the world. CHEERS! read more

This is a must do if you're passing thru London, ON. Call up Stephanie and make a reservation. She's so helpful and detailed with everything you need to do. Then let Margy take over and show you the entire Labatt beer making process (and more) from raw ingredients to bottling and packaging. When all done, celebrate by sampling several fresh brews. This is a must do if you are traveling through London! I planned our whole trip to Canada souly for the purpose of doing a Labatt Brewery Tour! Tours dont usually run on weekends but the plant was running the canning line the weekend we wanted to visit, SCORE!! So there just happened to be a tour on a Saturday, I was very informed and intrigued by the whole process. My friends and I had a blast walking around and checking out the different processes. Its too bad I couldn't have gotten a picture of the canning conveyors (pictures are prohibited during the tour), it was so ironic a group of Americans drove 3.5 hrs to see the Labatt processes to get to the end and the canning conveyor full of red, Budwiser cans being filled!!!!! So funny as my hubby loves Labatt and hates Bud. The sampling and trivia after the tour in the lounge was a nice touch to a great experience. read more

Eldon House is a walk from our hotel and downtown London area. It's a home where the Harris family…read morelived from 1834 and the home was donated in the mid 1900's and since been restored for viewing. The house different rooms and signs to explain the contents. The lower floor has many of the hunting trophies from the various animals killed in Africa by one of the grandsons. It also shows the servant's kitchen, sitting room with many artifacts from the travels around the world. Upstairs are various bedrooms and bathroom. A guide greeted us when we went into the house and there were only two other visitors. It's pay by donation at the front of the house. We spent less than an hour in the house but enjoyed reading and seeing the history of this prominent family.

The Eldon House is a great historical house museum. Admission is by donation ($5 suggested, but…read morepay what you will.) The house was donated to the city with most of the original belongings still in it, which is pretty rare for house museums. The tour is self guided, and you can wander about all of the rooms at your leisure. A guide greets you at the door, and gives you some background information. There are some interpretive panels as you go, but not an overwhelming amount of reading. It's very cool to see a fully furnished historical home set up as it would have been in the early 1900s. I especially liked seeing the kitchen, as well the children's play room (complete with creepy dolls!) Keep an eye out for the weird hunting trophies in the house -- and look for the elephant foot umbrella stand! (This is not a euphemism. It is a literal elephant foot that was turned into an umbrella stand.) During the summer they offer afternoon tea on the patio, and they run a variety of special events, lectures, tours, and classes throughout the year. The Eldon house is definitely worth a quick visit, if you're visiting or a local. I believe they also rent out the venue for private functions. They don't have their own parking lot; you'll need to find metered parking on Ridout street or park in a nearby pay lot. I hope to come back for a special event sometime soon! Hired to take us to the Detroit airport for 7 am flight. The pick up time was 2 am, when they…read moredidn't show I called the owner. He couldn't even contact the driver. Found out after that the driver claimed he was told 2pm. Thankfully we were all leaving from a friends farm and our vehicles were parked there already, so we loaded up 3 of them (12 in our group) and started for Sarnia. The difficult part of this is if we drove ourselves to Detroit, our return flight was to Toronto, how do we get our vehicles from Detroit? Thoughtfully the owner had our vehicles driven back to the farm (more on that later). On route the owner called and gave us an address south of Sarnia, told to meet there and we would have a limo waiting. The driver drove about 140km/hr to get us there as quick as he could to make our flight (scary). We had gone through a panic state, used our own gas for 3 vehicles, 200 kms round trip and when asked if we would get a partial refund for their mistake, he gave us $300 back on a $1500 bill. After paying our friends for the gas money for using their vehicles, that left just under $200 refunded for what could have been a huge problem. When inquired about being a little more considerate since we drove 1/2 the distance to Detroit and 1/4 of our round trip contract, I received no more correspondence. Sadly I will not be using or recommending this company to anyone, which is tragic because I like to support small, local businesses but customer satisfaction and word of mouth does not concern this company.
