They are 2nd year owners taking over from previous owners that ran it 35+ years. They are so very gracious and to think re-visiting where I grew up "was" going to do a 3 stay hotel in Marysville till I looked up the rates for the Heather and for over the major July 4th the room daily fee was a mere $42.00 more a night and included a no joke "Chef Gordon Ramsey" quality breakfast every morning. We got to see all the rooms being nobody was there yet for that day and it took a few days to see every detail. Pictures don't do enough so to see in person was a treat and every room is decorated it's own way. The place is really quiet also even when other people were around it's just really nice and we didn't hear anything the whole three days there just when people came down for breakfast. You get your own front door key to come and go as you please anytime the front door locks behind you. The A/C in the rooms are perfect and whisper quiet never heard such a quiet unit before no motel ones are like that. TV, internet, every room a bathroom some have a jacuzzi. Bed was high end and so were the sheets and pillows. Everything you need is there to use even a hair dryer on the wall. Lots of storage for clothes and other furniture to sit on besides a bed. Everything antique is just amazing and talk about super clean. Every room has it's own balcony and you can just look out and see the freighters going by in the St. Clair river. That coffee quality is something I never had before and asked them what they use and said we get in Port Huron specially made in a coffee house. Amazing inside that as well but the Heather owners are the best so being the previous owners were awesome for many years, these two young people have a huge reputation to uphold and they are doing just that. Can't say enough about them and the experience staying there. The breakfasts are 8:30 and we chose the front window table for 2 every morning full service facing the river they bring everything to you this is not buffet it's full service included in price. They have a real large table for multiple people to have breakfast also. NEVER had breakfasts like these before that good and so unique and every day is different not repeated. For the rates and what you get who needs a boring common motel that can cost this easily and more most of the time for each night and just maybe get a generic breakfast. The Heather B&B is a hidden treasure and been there so many years. Post this and share comments. People may think a historic B&B is high priced but search rooms by name and rates you'll find this is a bargain and very special.

My friends and I shared the Lexington Suite. The room was very comfortable and clean. We had a relaxing and restful night. Since we were the only guests upstairs, we peeked in the other guest rooms. They were all lovely. The host, Barb, was delightful. She was so welcoming and kind. The breakfast she prepared the next morning was absolutely delicious. Even though you cannot book directly through the website, it was easy to contact Barb via email and reserve our room. She was really responsive and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Inn the Garden.

Kevin got back to me immediately and replied to my inquiry and we quickly and efficiently arranged everything. We were shown to a reasonable sized room on the second floor and all necessary amenities were explained to us. The decor of the place wasn't really my cup of tea, but the room was clean and cozy, so I can put aside my own personal aesthetic. The private bathroom was a decent size and well laid out. The bed was a wee bit smaller than I'd imagined, but it was very comfortable. My favourite part of my stay though hands down had to be my breakfast! Because Kevin and Kim knew we had an early start, they got breakfast going extra early for us. We started with freshly baked croissants, lemon poppy seed cake, and assorted fresh berries. DEELISH! Then we had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with heirloom tomato on a wonderfully salty rosti. SO SO GOOD!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the splash of pesto on the tomato added a perfect kick. I was in heaven. I love coming to Stratford to see the theatre. Next year, I am totally coming back here, but I am going to make sure that I have dinner at the Old Rectory too!

The breakfasts were so delicious, fresh fruit, gourmet coffee, teas, pastries, and each morning a different egg soufflé dish with either bacon or sausage. You're all set till dinner. There's also Scoops on-site, a yummy ice cream parlor. We were able to walk downtown to the farmers market- proximity to this cute town with adorable shops is a plus. It's only a 10 minute drive to Lakeport State Park - if you're a rockhound you know what I'm talking about.
