I felt so cared for the entire time I was there. Last time I was there was in 2020 and they have since improved their wait time with option to check in online prior to your appointment. They mention "no news is good news" regarding test results which is the first time I am hearing this from the last time I was there in 2020. I did not have a good experience getting my blood drawn last time (it was a new nurse who poked me multiple times with no success), I was referred to an outside clinic Humboldt Phlebotomy who drew my blood and then never received an update on my blood results even after I called both clinics multiple times. It was strange but oh well, I just wish they communicated a bit more last time but they seem to have improved so I have hope! It's a good affordable health clinic with a staff that truly does care for women health needs.

I…read morehad asked for a referal, waited for necessary medical tests to be approved then scheduled then the resukts to come back, then the referal to rwh to be approved, then the appt scheduled. So i answered, "because the u.s. healthcare system is dysfunctional?" She sent me for further tests, and about the time they were returned, she was heading on vacation for two weeks amd wanted me to wait before she did a biopsy. I demurred and asked for a collegue to do the biopsy. Thank god i did. The biopsy came back positive. I went to see her upon her return. She explained the next steps and said, "i am your doctor; you can call here any time you have questions; i will be in constant contact with you." It sounded so nice, but it was a big fat LIE. I called a few days later when the bleeding reappeared to ask if that was normal or if i should seek an appt or what. That was over a month ago. I have never heard from that office again. I have since received tx and am already cancer free because i perservered through this American healthcare "system." Don't bother with shereshevsky. She's got her own problems, and doesn't have time for you.

My only complaint was the extremely unhelpful medical records person. I needed medical records sent to the PT that Dr Wimmer referred me to and Jackie was completely unwilling to fax my X-ray and chart. I then asked for Dr Wimmers Medical Assistant who was extremely helpful and got the job done! As long as you avoid having to deal with Jackie, this place is great!

I was up here visiting family for Christmas, and I was rear-ended in my vehicle. I was a bit sore, but because my dad is about to turn 93, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with either an E.R. or an urgent care. Even though this place is appointment only right now, they were willing to take me in to look me over. The doctor looked me over, and said I will be fine. They gave me a pain shot, and didn't just cut me loose. I had to stay about 45 minutes to make sure I was OK. No problems at all with that. I appreciate that. They sent me home with medication, but because my blood pressure was elevated, (not sure if it was because the stress of the accident, ) they wanted me to come back in the morning to double check. Again, no problem. I'm so glad that they are looking out for me. I got my meds from the pharmacy, and from walk in to walk out, I was there only about 2 hours. I came in the following morning for my follow up, and this time, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Very reasonable. These people are very thorough, helpful, and friendly. They're a great resource for the vets in Humboldt County. People always say "Thank you for your service" to us vets, but I want to say to them, "Thank you for *YOUR* service to us.

A shuttle service runs back and forth from this clinic to the bay daily, stopping at pretty much every remote town along the 101 corridor along the way, giving remote veterans access to the SFVAMC in the city. This remote Vet Center provides primary care services, a pharmacy and a variety of other medical and health related services. My primary care doctor has changed three times in the past two years, so it does make it hard to establish a relationship with your primary doctor. However, having been in the VA medical system for forty years now and I have dealt with various clinics both large and small across the country over the years, and this clinic is top notch. The staff are all professional, courteous and attentive. Though my primary care doctor has changed a couple times, I always see the same front desk personnel as well as nursing and department staff. These staff members are a part of the community here and do care about us as veterans and do the best they can within a strained system. Regardless of how you may feel about the VA medical system and all its flaws, this remote veterans care clinic does a great job with what it has to work with and makes me at least, feel like they care about us and appreciate us for our service and sacrifices made. 00090

I would NOT recommend HOH mainly because of their oversold/under delivered "24/7" care. I didnt know that after hours HOH hires a huge company to take the after hours care. I had to call tonight, because I think this may be the last night I have with my husband and best friend...I got some nurse who obviously wasnt trained in grief counseling...but whatever, oh well...they just dont seem to care. like I said though, the nurses who come out are just fucking awesome and they do care.

We have an excellent oral surgeon here in town that I highly recommend. Healing came quickly post…read moreoral surgery thanks to the excellent Oral Surgeon Dr. Martey. One of his front office staff needs to check her behavior at the door to be more kind and patient. The other staff and assistants were all excellent. The reason I know Dr. Martey is excellent, is that I have gone to bad oral surgeons in the past that infected people and where pulling a tooth took weeks to heal instead of days. Santa Rosa was always good, and an Oral Surgeon in Redding is excellent, but Rog or Bog that were here years ago in Eureka were both rude, abusive, and corrupt. Thank goodness past Oral Surgeon is dead or at least gone from Humboldt County. The horrible surgeon was Rog or Bog. One was a horrible Dermatology Surgeon who mis diagnosed me and would have killed me had not Dr. Russel Pardoe saved the day. The other was a horrible Dental Surgeon. One died and the other left town, thank goodness. Hopefully, I will not need dental surgery again for a long time. However, if I do in the future I will go to Dr. Martey here locally. My teeth brake when pulled by a regular dentist, and then they need to send me to an Oral Surgeon to put me to sleep and dig the tooth fragments out. This is why I need an excellent Oral Surgeon to avoid having my roots exposed while waiting for an appointment with a proper oral surgeon to dig the tooth fragments out while asleep. My suggestion is to get Dental Insurance or have an account to save money monthly in order to have enough for to pay cash for dental emergencies not covered by Medicare.
