I am thankful I had an appointment as there were many individuals that did not. This clinic takes appointments first and walk ins are worked in. It is early Monday morning and people are starting their day off disgruntled. I recommend coming here as it is stress free if you have an appointment.

They are friendly and courteous when you check in all the way through check out. I have never waited very long to be seen. I changed Dr's because I was so impressed with the staff at Waddell. 2. Lesley Belue works there and recommended for me to try them. She got me an appointment the next day when I had shingles. Trust me being seen by a doctor is ASAP when you have shingles. Lesley was and is always great help. 3. Jackie Collie ALWAYS takes time to listen to me to see what is going on. She goes that extra mile to talk to her patients and find out what is wrong and the best way to treat it. She treats everyone as an individual and everyone is important to her. Appointments are easy to get in a timely fashion and they always ask how serious, which results in getting seen immediately if necessary. Doctors are top notch, caring and through. I have been referred to five specialists over the years and without exception have been told that the Waddell doctors had it right, confirming their diagnosis and recommendations. Yesterday I was scheduled for my second Hepatitis B shot at my doctor's office. I went in and was…read moregiven a meningitis shot. I was told it was meningitis after I exited the office and was in the lobby headed outside when my phone rang. The lady in the call told me I was given a meningitis shot and to go to my pharmacy for the second Hepatitis B shot. Let's say I wasn't happy. I went to Walgreens and explained to the pharmacist my predicament. She asked me to find out what brand of hepatitis B vaccine I was given last month. I logged into my patient portal and the brand name of the shot used wasn't listed. After discussion the pharmacist agreed to give me my second shot. I even volunteered to pay cash. When the info was input into the computer system, the shot was denied because Walgreens is a retail establishment. I couldn't get the shot at my doctor's office nor at a drug store. I asked the pharmacist for help and she said that the HH Urgent Care can give me the Hep B shot. Off I go to Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care to explain to several employees why I was there. After checking in and telling my story to anyone willing to listen, I sat and waited while the ladies at HH Urgent Care dotted the i's and crossed the t's. I was called back and was given my second Hep B shot. Hallelujah HH Urgent Care saved the day. I made my appointment for my third and final shot. Thank you HH Urgent Care for handling what seemed the impossible.

I "saved a spot" online, arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, but waited over 2 1/2 hours to be seen. At least 2 walk-in patients were seen before me, which I don't think is right. My vitals were taken by the nurse, then I was placed in a very cold room, where I waited another 30 minutes. When the nurse practitioner came in, she asked me some questions about why I was there (uncontrolled coughing), prescribed 2 medications (an inhaler and a steroid), and sent me on my way. She did not listen to my chest, look at my throat, or even come near me. Not the quality of care I'd expect from a HH facility.

I was sick. You know the kind of sick that only happens on Saturday when your PCP…read moreis closed for two more days. Sick-sick - the kind that you just know shouldn't wait until Monday. I had an incessant cough - so bad that I was having trouble catching my breath. (Why I didn't tear my husband away from his football game and take me is still a mystery.) I hadn't been to urgent care since the middle of Covid. I figured I might as well go back to the last place I had been. They were close and in the past, quick. I got there to find them closed with a homeless person passed out in front of their entrance. Now where to go? I've had more than my share of lousy service at AFC so I continued to look. I saw Approxie care on the list of sites. I was a good 10 miles away but I at least knew where it was - I had received a (drive-thru ) Covid test there. I arrived to find one other family in the waiting area. I grabbed a mask, quickly checked in and sat in the corner to distance from the others. Check in was easy, you know the drill - hand over your cards, fill in the papers on the clipboard and have a seat. No different from most any medical encounter. I waited no more than 10 minutes when I was escorted into the exam room. A young girl - high school young - took my vitals, asked me about what was going on and swabbed me for Covid and the flu - pretty routine. In the back of my mind I wondered how a teenager was qualified to work there but she told me it was her third year in the medical program at Bob Jones. Later when I thought about it, I was impressed that Approxie was actively supporting our young people in their career paths. Dr Shah soon came in, listened to my chest - he didn't need to ask me to cough. I'm sure had heard me through the walls. He asked a few questions, listened to my chest and diagnosed me. Apparently my symptoms were textbook for walking pneumonia. It was just a gut feeling, but Dr Shah's bedside manner immediately made me trust him. He did do a chest xray to reassure me as bronchitis and I are no stranger. He prescribed a breathing treatment and antibiotics and sent me home with the standard rest and hydrate and like that, less than an hour after I entered the building, I was driving home. The only issue that I had was that Dr Shah told me to do the breathing treatment twice a day but my orders and prescription both said once a day. By the time I called the office to confirm, they were closed. The medicine had me feeling better in a couple of days though 3 weeks later I still have a cough. Approxie definitely isn't the most convenient place to my home but if and when I or a family member needs urgent care, this is the place we are coming too. I really can't say enough about the care I received.
