The 2.7 Yelp Reviews surprised me. I had a 9:15 appointment today, and was called up on time. I always choose this Labcorp, even though I have one much closer to my home. This site has excellent parking, is clean, especially the bathrooms, and staff is always courteous. I usually make appointments, and have always been seen on time. The phlebotomists, are top notch, in my opinion. I'm a difficult one to take a blood draw from, due to my veins being hard to find, but walk away being very satisfied with the process. Today, Jenny did my blood draw. She introduced herself, made sure my vials were labeled correctly, and after explaining, I had "difficult veins", she listened to my concerns, reassured me, and put me at ease. Jenny checked both my arms carefully, to find a good vein, which she did. Blood draw was an easy process, and barely felt the needle. This is typical, whenever I have my blood work done here in Pleasant Hill. Overall, very satisfied with this Labcorp. read more

Labcorp Pleasant Hill is an illusion of services. They are extremely slow and inefficient. To add insult to injury, after 1.5 hours of waiting, when I asked how much longer I had to wait, they lied and told me only 2 people ahead of you. Where do I start with my overall poor experience as I sit here looking at a huge purple bruise on my arm? Please note this review is for the Pleasant Hill Road location only! I have had nothing but GREAT experiences at the 2425 East Street lab in Concord. I did not go there because it was several weeks before they had a morning appointment, but I digress. The check in process in Pleasant Hill was simple and straightforward enough, but it went downhill from there. The waiting area was full of people, unorganized, and way too warm. I had a 10:45am appointment and was not taken back for the blood draw until 11:15am. I have some of the easiest veins on the planet to find and phlebotomists usually jump for joy when they see them. This girl seemed confused when I presented both arms and told her to pick which ever she thought was best. Well, she chose a vein that NOBODY has ever chosen before and that's where the issues began. She stuck me hard and well, she barely got a half vial before she said she was SO sorry, but couldn't get anymore blood out of the vein and would have to try on my other arm. We had success on the other arm as she filled up 2 1/2 vials for 2 simple tests. I woke up this morning with a huge painful purple/yellow bruise on my arm that I endured with stick #1. First time ever in my 55 years on this planet that I've had such an experience. I will not EVER be going back there, and you shouldn't either. You'd be better off going to a veterinarian! read more

2 stars because I had a good experience here once, but today was bad. Wasn't seen until 8:15 for a 7:30 appointment. Was told the online checkin system wasn't working, although it showed I was checked in. When I suggested to staff that they post a sign notifying people the checkin system wasn't working, was told the problem just started this morning "a few hours ago." That's a few hours in which you could have posted a sign! Or print out a list of that morning's appointments and when people appear to be late, call out their name to make sure they're not just in the waiting room thinking they were checked in (or worse, sitting in their car waiting for a text). Went there for some routine lab work. Had a 1030 appointment and was in my car on my way home at 1025. The receptionist was friendly efficient and fast. Went to LABCORP today for a routine blood draw. No complaints about their actual work or the sweet, young lady who actually drew my blood. She was very charming. My complaint is this: I have a hearing impairment, but even without that their system needs work, or should I say an overhaul? It's a large waiting room. It seems half the staff's first language is other than English. No complaint about that either. However, many of them also wear masks; understandable and no big deal. But after checking in at the electronic check-in device and having a seat you have absolutely no idea how long your wait will be. That's okay also. But then the two mask-wearing ladies, whose first languages are other than English, in the other room with only a window to the large waiting room will call out a first name only to come to the window. Difficult to understand for anyone and nearly impossible for someone with a hearing impairment. Fortunately I had my wife with me at the right moment to interpret for me. After a few questions at the window to update info I was told to take a seat again. Several minutes later another masked person, whose first language was not English, opened the door to the sample-withdrawal area and called out my first name. Thank goodness for a wife with good hearing. Once inside I had an English-speaking unmasked beautiful young lady do the actual withdrawal. Even DMV has an electronic signboard announcing your number and which window to go to. And many restaurants will send you a text message when you are called up. They have your phone number when you do the electronic sign in. I can't be the only person who struggles with knowing when to go up to the window or the door. For all of that I give them only two stars. read more

The girl at the front desk that checked me in was quick and efficient. The other lady that took my blood was extremely kind. I let her know that I am a wuss when it comes to getting my blood drawn, and she was kind enough to continue conversation with me the entire time to distract me. I didn't get their names, but I'll update my review if I see them next time! Getting bloodwork done is never fun, but the staff here made it as easy and painless as possible! I went there this morning for an appointment. The old woman at the front desk was nasty and was dismissive in talking to me. She was quite annoyed, as if to say "do I really have to answer your stupid question." I am a senior citizen with several health problems. #1 Before I left home I checked their website for pending orders from my doctor so I got there 20 minutes early to ask a question. Was that a mistake! #2 I was in line behind an nice gentleman. While she was helping him she told me to use the kiosk to check in. I told her before I do that I would like to ask a question. I presented my insurance card and asked if I had any orders in their system. Looked at me with a smirk and sternly stated check in at the kiosk and we will call you. #3 She called me up to the counter 15 minutes later. I asked again if there were any standing orders. She said no. I asked if she was able to look at my account with Labcorp. She rudely replied, "I can't see that", and mumbled something unintelligible. Now we are at 3-5 minutes until my appointment time. I told her I would call the doctor. The doctors office asked if there was a fax number. Again, here we go! #4 I went back up and asked that woman if there was a fax number. Her reply was, "It's right there". There was no pointing. Not having my glasses available I had to try and read everything posted on the front desk window while the doctors office was patiently waiting. I asked the blood tech if there was a manager there I could talk to. IT HAPPENED TO BE THE NASTY WOMAN AT THE FRONT DESK!!!! read more

I took my 4 year old here to get a diabetes screening blood test through Trial Net. We came with the provided test vials and instructions. None of the staff seemed to know what to do and did not bother to read the instructions. The person who took the samples appeared to be new and both her and the trainer did not speak much English. The process was a disaster as they sprayed blood all over both my son and myself (I was holding him). He was screaming from the pain and sight of blood. It ends up that after all that, the samples could not be sent out for processing as we came in on a Friday. One of the staff ran out to the parking lot after us to tell us that. We were beyond frustrated by this as well as putting out son thru this traumatic event. We will never go back. Please be warned of the inexperience at this place and consider looking elsewhere for lab work. We found out after this that Kaiser could have done the same test (never had a bad experience at Kaiser labs). read more

I went to get my blood taken recently at the Pleasant Hill location. This place is extremely clean, very convenient to park and the employees are friendly, patient, and kind. I will make it a point to use this location when I need any future bloodwork done. I searched around locations since I used to go to the location in Lafayette. The Lafayette location doesn't seem clean and the employees there are extremely unfriendly...like to the point where you feel like you are an inconvenience in their day. I encountered an extraordinarily RUDE, unprofessional employee at this facility. I was asked if I had been fasting, and my reply was, "fasting for 13.5 hours." Her response was, "so that would be a yes," with obvious attitude, as if my including the total fasting time in my response annoyed her. I have been routinely asked my total fasting time at Labcorp labs. In any case, this person received the response to her question. Unbelievably, approximately 10-15 seconds later she was literally yelling, "ARE YOU FASTING?" at me again, with attitude, and it struck a nerve of course. I could hear the very unprofessional staff carrying on after I went to my assigned room, as if I was the problem for reacting to this unprofessional (bleep). The phlebotomist that poked me did it as well as anyone ever has. I'm chronically ill and am a difficult poke for many. I complimented her on it, and shared with her that ER just took about 15 minutes and a few attempts to get a line in me. Her response was, "they aren't good at it." I responded that some are good at it, to be fair to Muir ER, but many are not, to be honest. I highly suggest that you go elsewhere to avoid this very rude, very challenged, young blonde "lady" who processed my paperwork. She should absolutely not be functioning in a front-line customer service role, period. You will see the word "RUDE" used repeatedly to describe the employees at this facility, including three in the last couple of weeks, and it appears that many of them are referring to this particular employee. Get your act together Labcorp! You have been informed numerous times in these reviews about rudeness and unprofessionalism at this facility, and it continues to be a major issue. But I was so outraged that decided to share my bad experience . I chose this location because it was closer to me. Today I went there for my blood work. I faced with a very unprofessional and rude attitude. The way I was greeted and treated was unacceptable. The receptionist didn't even look at me when she was speaking. If zero stars could be given I would. This place is a joke! My wife (who's phobic of needles) had to get a blood test. Obviously saying she was nervous was a gross understatement! Her friend took her in and explained to the front desk the situation. The response from the phlebotomist standing behind her was as unprofessional as I've come across in so many years I can't remember! Rude, curt, and totally incompassionate for her situation. As a follow up, she had to drop off a sample later. Unfortunately, the same phlebotomist at the front desk this time to "greet" her. Even worse this time, rude and nasty when she didn't know the process for dropping off the sample. I've read a few posts and this seems to not be an isolated incident with this particular employee. Obviously lapcorp doesn't give a crap either. To be fair, the blood draw was fine (same lady) and my experiences using the lapcorp facility over at the concord location was a polar opposite- in Concord they were friendly, smiling, eager to assist. My Doctors office faxed over a test request here last week. When I got here the staff could not find the fax. They suggested I call my doctor to Have it sent again. Out of consideration for the other patients and because there is a size limitation in the waiting room, I stepped outside to make the call as requested I made the call was told it wAs sent last week and was told a new fax was being sent again right now. I turned around to to re-enter the office and as I was turning the door knob a staff member locked the door ( I felt it lock thru door knob ) I was plainly visible through the office window I knocked on the door and a staff member told me they were closed for lunch I told her my fax was being sent now and she said they were at lunch and to come back in an hour She said that state law required a lunch break and that even if I had remained inside they would make me leave. I told her this was bad customer service and She said she was going to warn her supervisor about me and walked away from the window I have been to this facility numerous times in the past and was on a first name basis with several of the staff I have always been treated with respect and courtesy before this incident before this Other lab corp locations are open all day and do not close for a lunch break They have the ability here to remain open during the lunch hour but for an unknown managerial decision do not I will take my business elsewhere and request my Doctor not use this location again for his patients because of the rude staff. Phlebotomists were all very rude. this is my second time going, and having the same lady. She has now given me 2 hematomas and severe bruising. As a phlebotomist myself, I know where the vein should be drawn at, and she went below the crease of my arm. That caused a lot of unnecessary pain, seeing as if she went in the crease of my arm (where it's supposed to go) it would have caused no pain. read more

Very RUDE front office lady wrapped up in her mask, cap, gown etc... do not know her name. When we came in she was literally berating a coworker right in front of us as we waited! The co worker was quiet and took her insults... We had scheduled our appts. The only way we were able to do it.. as no one answered the phone online... but something went wrong! when we arrived she was so rude as we gave her our names... we waited outside to be fit in as walk in's then the lady behind us came outside and she was rude to her as well. My experience was the lady at the front desk was so rude never smiled very unprofessional! If you don't like your job find something else at least put a smile on that mug . I needed to have blood work per my doctors orders. I went online to find locations and found this one. Convenient location and is super close to my home. Making the appointment online was easy and can be done in as little as two hours prior. They also accept walk-ins. I showed up 10 minutes prior was greeted promptly and waited to be called in. I did immediately notice that the place smelled like Mexican food (it was after lunch;) I was called back to the room and the phlebotomist came in. I told her I was a little anxious and she just kept talking to me and before I knew it, I was all done. Can't wait to check out my results online in a few days. Not bad at all! read more

I read other reviews about this place. One common thing is how rude they are. I don't know how they stay in business or why they chose to be in this profession. To me they don't have people skills and don't have organization skills. They shouldn't be in business of caring for people. Or in business of public facing I took my wife there today for some blood tests. She had an appointment. But they only allow 2 people inside at a time. And there were people waiting outside. We just waited outside. After 10 minutes I decided to go inside to let them know that we arrived. Two people that I told I had an appointment. They said sign in and wait out side. They will call us next. After several people went in , I confronted them. They said I didn't put a red dot next to my name. They didn't know I had an appointment. Huh? Then another person came out and told me to go outside. Only people have the test done can stay inside. First of all I didn't want to stay inside. I just wanted to fill out the paperwork, give them the insurance card and give them the prescription from the doctor. She didn't care. Didn't want to hear what I had the say, just go outside. I've never gotten treatment like that anywhere. So I went outside. I left my wife in there who just arrived in this country with very little English. Then 2 people came in and only one was there for tests. They allowed the 2 to stay inside. They also allowed 2 people ahead of us to wait inside. I talked to these two while waited outside. They didn't have an appointment and one of them just there to keep her mom company And they went ahead of us. I really feel sorry for the people who work there.
