Made an appointment online and they are closed today. I am here reading a note on the door. What a waste of time!!!

I had to go to this location twice in one week, and overall pretty disappointing. The first time actually wasn't so bad. I walked in around 4 p.m. (this place closes at 5 p.m.) and there was no one ahead of me. The woman (a middle-aged brunette woman) was courteous and took me in right away after checking me in. I was in and out in several minutes. I had to go back two days later, and this was the one that left a bad taste in my mouth. I made an online appointment for 3:45 p.m., just to be safe since I saw the other reviewers complaining about the wait time. I got there around 3:30 p.m., and when I walk in there is no one in the waiting room or behind the counter. On top of the sign-up sheet there is a note that says "Please sign-in, I am on my break and will be back in a few minutes." Okay, no big deal since I am early anyway. Right after I sit down an elderly man comes in with a walker, also signs in and sits down. We chitchat a little about how warm the room is while we wait. A few minutes later a middle-aged blonde woman shows up behind the counter and immediately complains that I shouldn't have skipped a line on the sign-up sheet because this is how the company keeps track of how many people come in. "Excuuuuuuse me," I thought. I only did that because all the other names on the list were crossed out and it looked like there was a line through the blank line where I guess I should have signed in. I was about to tell her but she started shooting out questions about what we were here for, etc. I show her my slip, she gets irritated that all my info was not filled out completely. So I do that, give her back the form and she tells me to go sit in a chair in the back. While I am waiting for her to draw my blood, I hear her practically yelling at the elderly man who came in right after me. She's trying to get info about who is the primary holder of the insurance and whether he's been here before, etc. She comes in and takes my blood. I try to make some small talk with her about how it must be hard being the only one in the lab, etc. but she doesn't really answer. I was trying to be nice since I know we all have bad days and I didn't want her to lose my labwork or anything. She makes a lot of noise while prepping, rifling through the supplies and slamming things down. This employee clearly was having a bad day and did not want to be there. I guess specimen collection places like this don't need to worry about customer service since most people go there because they have to and don't have many choices. But would it hurt to have a basic level of professionalism and courtesy? It left me with an unpleasant feeling. I was going to give this place only one star, but then I remembered that the first woman was nice, and at least they didn't lose my tests or anything like that, so I decided to give it two stars. I'd give 1.5 stars if I could. I'm glad I didn't have a bad experience with the wait time as others described. I definitely recommend you make an online appointment at their website. I went at 10am on a Wednesday. I had a hard time finding the office because I'd googled the wrong address. Not their fault, but it would have helped to have some reference points. It's in a fairly large medical center. I'd been fasting for the blood test and also was on the 3rd day of a detox. The aroma of chocolate coming from the nearby Ghiradelli chocolate factory while I wandered around trying to find their office seemed maddening but comical. Anyway, the person who checked me in was very sweet and sympathetic when I mentioned my experience finding their place. She took my paperwork and got my blood drawn in probably less than 10 minutes. Pretty painless. I saw the reviews describing a phlebotomist who was unkempt but mine looked perfectly professional. You can schedule an appointment online to avoid a wait. read more

Trust me....make an appt and be on time! I mean on the dot, because they do call out your name right on the dot. I got there just a minute late and they said they called my name and no one answered so that's why I waited another half hour. The place is packed and understaffed, but as long as you have an appt, you're good. read more

I've giving it two stars because I've encountered the people that work there to be overall pretty nice. My issue with them is that they don't have enough people working there so the wait time is super long. Most of the time it's 1 person on a saturday and during the week I've seen 2 people but they really need at least 4. I've waited there with my mom fasting for over 2 hours before and learned my lesson and now always make an appointment. If you go there make an online appointment and you'll def have a less wait time. read more

Never had a problem with them, and yes, if you don't want to wait, you must make an appointment. Extremely easy to do so online, so there really are no excuses. The staff at the front desk are business like but efficient, and every technician that's drawn blood(and have been coming for several years) has always been friendly and professional. read more

One star, because Zero is no an option. First off, the waiting area is tiny and always crowded. The staff is rude and just nasty as if the were being forced to work there I'm not expecting a 5 star hospitality service but c'mon. Today I walk in at 8 sharp, crowded and there no one at the register, turns out the technician or whatever their called was doing the drawing of the blood and the check in because her coworker was running late. WTF, and she was only seeing those with appointment and was going to try to "maybe" squeeze in someone in between, this all said in a snobby I don't give a F type of attitude. Avoid a headache and go elsewhere. read more

I have been to this Labcorp a couple of times. Yes, the wait can be horrendous depending on the time you go and whether or not you have an appointment. However, the staff there has always been very courteous and professional. I had my blood drawn a few Saturdays ago, and I was in and out relatively quickly. The front desk was staffed by Tae (short for Taeposha, sorry if I misspelled it), and my blood was drawn by Ben. Both were great and made the whole experience about as pleasant as it could be. I hope the Labcorp management starts hiring more people; it seems all the locations I have been to are understaffed. TIP: Make sure you're well hydrated before having your blood drawn or else the flow slows way down. read more

Worst lab I've ever been. Very unfriendly and arrogant staff, disgusting restroom that I had to use to collect urine sample. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. read more

I really don't understand the complaints. I did not have an appointment. I expected to have to wait, or to have to come back. I think my entire experience lasted for 20 minutes, with the most painless blood draw I have ever had. read more

This location was better then others I've been too. Most only have one person. This one actually has more. I didn't have an appointment on a Friday at 8am after leaving the cappy alameda location. I only waited about 20min. Not bad and they were good at drawing blood, and it can be tricky on me. read more

They are understaffed. We had an appt at 8:30 am but got there at 7:45 hoping to get it done earlier if they had openings. Had to wait until 8:45 to be called!!! read more

i had to wait an hour before getting in. they are badly understaffed. they use to have 3 or 4 people working at any one time, now there are only 2 and this is totally unacceptable. read more

The staff (front desk and lab tech) were not friendly, cheerful or communicative. Although there were not many patients, the wait was long especially if you are fasting and not feeling well. Once you sign in you have to figure out that you are to sit and wait until your name is called for check-in then you have to sit again until the tech calls your name. The tech who drew my blood was talking negatively (in the back) about another patient as I sat overhearing this discussion between staff. I was hoping that I did not get the angry sounding tech. Just my luck, I did get her. She spoke to me with a gruff tone, no eye contact seem irritated that she could not find a vein. Her name pin was turned around so I cannot identify her. I left the lab feeling like I did not want to return to this cold, unfriendly and even hostile place. Staff need training in good public relations, patient respect and privacy. read more
