Because of this, I came back months later with my then 4 year old and had a TERRIBLE experience with a tech and her "manager/lead tech" It was my child's first time getting blood work and was understandably scared. I had him on my lap and calm. The first tech stuck him and started to move the needle around in his arm and couldn't get blood which of course led to him screaming in agony. She attempted again on his other arm and wasn't successful and again moved the needle around and said to him "I'm not touching you" in a very annoyed tone when she left the needle in his arm while looking for a bigger gauge. At this time he was red, sweating, kicking and screaming while I'm holding him down. The head tech then came over to assist and used the larger gauge and also moved the needle back and forth. At this point I yelled that this was enough and that we needed to stop as he was crying and screaming to the point of exhaustion I was told by this manager that I need to ensure he's well hydrated going forward as it's my fault meanwhile my child drinks water all day every single day. Will not be returning to this location and would never recommend a child getting blood work done here and they do not have the skills to handle children and get annoyed at them easily.

I had selected this location for labs and it was not the best experience. I was 15 mins early to my…read moreappointment. I checked in on a kiosk and opted to be texted when it was my turn so that I could wait in my car since the waiting area was full. I didn't like that there was no board with a queue to see where you are on the list. I received a text about my appointment 30 minutes past my appointment time. The staff claimed they had been calling for me in the waiting room.... The staff member who took my blood had very odd bedside manner. My husband was in the room with me and was scrolling on his phone waiting for me and talking to me as a distraction from the blood draw. Apparently the staff member thought he was taking photos??? Very odd. While I was using the restroom another patient was called into the room and he didn't even ask my husband (who was waiting for me) to step out... Obviously my husband found this weird and exited. To make it more awkward, I had to go back in while the other patient was in there to drop my cup off. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

I've NEVER had a negative experience with the staff, technicians or process at this location. Coming from a healthcare worker to another, the lab tech Sahil Patel is one of the rudest medical…read moreworkers I've met. She speaks to you with zero respect even when I'm in my full medical attire (not that one should treat one person better due to profession but imagine how she would treat a person of vulnerable standing). I was the only person in the office after waiting 20min for her to come back from lunch break - she didn't bother to open the door despite seeing me waiting outside until I had to knock. I was the only one there and she was like "You have to sit down" in a rude tone while I was standing in the corner minding my own business texting on my phone. I was like okay I didn't know it's a requirement to sit. Then later when she was setting up to draw labs, she was struggling to find my vein (mind you I am one of the veiniest person I know even beginning students can do my IV when I let them practice). She was like "tighten your fist" so I did and I was pumping my fist because that helps, and she still couldn't find my vein despite me seeing a big plump one (I get called by nurses to do difficult IVs all the time so I am quite familiar). She got frustrated and scolded "I said make a tight fist" and let out a frustrated gesture. SMH what an experience from the other side of receiving healthcare. I would not recommend this lab place even though it's conveniently outside the primary care doctor's office based off of the possibility of running into Sahil Patel again. What a rude a** phlebotomist. I didn't say much because I did not want her to tamper with my blood sample or "accidentally" mislabel. She also used the biggest gauge needle it was like 14/16 bore for a routine blood draw (now looking back) and shoved it in super hard without the usual courtesy "poke" warning. Good thing I can tolerate these things well but I know from experience that a lot of people have harder times with needles. Even if one person comes across this review, then it would have been worth my time writing it.

Not here...I received the VIP treatment from everyone from the receptionist, the doc's assistants, and the doc herself. My appointment was such a pleasure! Her soft, subtle touch resulted in the most amazing painless results. I've had injections for years and always bruise, bleed, experience a lot of pain and I significantly swell. Not this time! I went shopping immediately afterwards (looking for Sanna's shoes which I loved) since I felt great, wasn't in any pain, and didn't have any facial bruises (even after 80 units!). It was insane because it really didn't hurt. She was the most gentle doc I've ever been to. We discussed my goals for the injections and she really, genuinely listened to me. She asked me questions and gave me good advice. I inquired about getting undereye botox injections but she refused due to safety reasons. I was floored. Most docs give me what I want because they're money hungry. Not Avenel Primary Care and not Sanna Arshad! My appointment was quick but not at all rushed. She knew I was nervous (I hate needles) so she shut off the tv, played soothing, distracting music on youtube, talked about her family, she asked questions about mine, and we talked about traveling. Within a few minutes she was done and I was thrilled since there wasn't any pain, bleeding, or bruising. I asked about fillers but she recommended that I wait since I have an upcoming wedding to attend. She is the most honest, down to earth, caring, compassionate, fun spirited, knowledgeable, experienced doc I've ever met. She genuinely cares for her patients, takes the time to listen, provides sage guidance and advice, and isn't in the biz for the cash. I received the best service, best results and the best pricing I have ever gotten in over 20 years getting botox injections. Sanna you are the epitome of professionalism and I sincerely commend you for your work ethic. Also took forever to get test results and when I got results but it didn't make sense . I believe they no longer had results and just made results up .
