I eventually gave up and had a different company come out and fix the problem. They solved the problem in 30 minutes. It cost me $175. I am dissatisfied with his responses to me. Does the Chimney needwork...yes. The problem was the sealant around the flashing and the way it was secured to the chimney. I also had damage to aluminum flashing around my windows when his gutter contractor used the window sill to stand on while installing new gutters. He didn't offer to solve anything. The new gutters are good, the contractor's employee was not. No resolution was given.

I chose M&S for their price and presentation for my new roof in October of 2021. The first…read moreimpression was very good. After getting 3 bids, (two of them had $95 for each sheet of Plywood, and the first 3 sheets free),I had M&S match that and put it in writing. They were $125 per sheet with none free originally. I really needed a Saturday install due to work issues and my Great Dane would need to be out of house, and Mark promised that. That was the first issue. He did not keep that promise. It had to be on a Friday. I'm flexible, so okay. I took off work. The team that actually did the job was GREAT. That was nice. However, when they left, I walked the perimeter and found that 2 of my flood lights had been broken and knocked down. Also, they did not reconnect a downspout that I requested be fixed while they were up there, (I told them I would pay extra, as it had just been knocked off during a recent storm.) Mark had promised that as well. Oh well. The roof looked great. Good materials. But the price was CLEARLY padded. When I got the final bill a week or so later. Only 5-6 full pieces of Plywood were used. I counted! Mark even went up and checked the ones in question to save me money. The bill said that 11 were used. Not true. Again, barely 6 full sheets were used, But the bill said 11 were used. In the end I paid for eight sheets of wood. I paid in full. Ten days later Mark texts me and says he lost my check for $8,000!!! I had to leave work to go to bank to stop payment. Then I had to go in person to their office to reissue a check. That was a big problem for me. But I'm understanding, so I told them we could schedule the gutters next, for which I had received 3 bids also. Their first bid was for $3,600 ish, with guards. I asked for a price without the guards and it went down to around $2,400. I told them to schedule it,mid November and that's where I started getting the run around. I finally got Mark to commit to last Tuesday, but I had to change it for to work. I figured that would not be a problem because I had been so understanding and flexible this whole time. I asked for this coming Tuesday the 25th and it has been 8 days and I have not heard from M&S contracting. I have called emailed and sent numerous texts. I guess I'm going to go elsewhere now.

We knew we had a leak in our old fireplace, but we didn't know how bad it was. They worked hard to repair and seal our chimney. But that was only the start. They tore out our old, oversized fireplace and built us a beautiful new electric fireplace with a gorgeous mantel and tile surround. When Ryan saw that I was an artist, he suggested we work with an interior designer to make the room into a gallery for my work. Nick and Phil are also gifted carpenters and were able to carry out the vision of the designer to make a stunning new room for us. They really cared about the details and transformed the room into a beautiful new living space for us. To top it off, Ryan, Nick and Phil were all just genuinely nice people. Can't recommend them highly enough!

If I could give less then 1 star I would…read more. Starting off, it took 3 phone calls to try to schedule someone to give us a quote. After finally scheduling a date they didn't show up and never called - after I took the day off of work to meet them. Then, calling back 2 more times with no response - a technician randomly shows up while absolutely no one is home, unannounced, caulks 5ft of my roof, without my permission to do the work, then sends a bill of $377 for 10 minutes worth of work, which is all recorded on our home security system. We never even called to have a technician to come out. We simply wanted someone to look at the roof and give us a recommendation on what to do and give us a quote. The technician then proceeds to follow up his work with a text message saying that "caulking is not the correct fix, but it was something he could do when he was out at our house." So after all of that we still have the issue with our roof. To make things worse, after paying the bill they reach back out to me and tell me that the method they use to get paid had an error, and that error is going to charge another $30 fee. I would like to also mention that the entire interaction described above was done completely over text message. Not one employee - the scheduler, technician, and billing personnel ever called or talked in person. The lack of communication was baffling. I find that very unprofessional - especially after a customer is expressing issues with your company. When I reached out to them with my complaints the only response back from them was it was my fault, not theirs and that I was problem, without hearing me out. That is horrible customer service which I find ironic when their company goal per their website is to "achieve a 100% customer satisfaction rating from every customer." That's obviously not true. All and all it was an absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. I highly recommend finding another company to do the work that will not take advantage of you.
