Outstanding customer service. KT gave a thorough explanation of what could help alleviate my specific foot issues. Found the right shoes/insoles and found immediate relief at work. Was told to let them know if I run into any issues. A few months in, noticed a bit of tread peeling away. Stopped by for a quick fix, figured some glue would suffice. These wonderful people quite literally changed my life! My feed hurt all the time, and I was reduced to wearing a pair of very supportive sandals. Not good for business or dress occasions. And I didn't feel like walking much, and that came into consideration wherever I planned to go. No more! They took the time to assess my condition, evaluate my feet and posture entirely. Myself and three other customers (one gentleman with a BAG of shoes) waited patiently outside the store this morning. Store hours show 9-4 Tue-Thur. I waitied until 9:20, the gentleman with the bag left at 9:15. Store is still closed. Now I don't want to have anyting repaired by this business because if they can't get to work on time, it would be foolish for me to expect my shoes to be repaired on time. Shoe repair is a dying profession, business practices like this don't help. Now I have to wait until 10:00 to even try the shop downtown, which I am hesitant to do because of my expereince here. Best cobbler in town! They took 4 out of my 6 pairs to repair (two knee high heeled boots, a bootie pair that needed new rubbers on the heels and a pair of platform sandals that look brand new and will be ready for next spring! She took the time to educate me on why they would not be able to take the other two and the risks involved if she had. If they were poorly made in the first place it was hard to salvage them no matter how much a favorite boot they were. Lol (invest in better quality shoes guys, you won't regret having walked a thousand miles in a pair of boots and having to throw them away because you were trying to save a 'buck.' I picked up my mom's boots from here because she was getting her right heel repaired. When I picked it up there was a big tear on the front side of the right boot, not the left just the right, and when I went back to ask why there was a tear in the boot the lady working told me that the material does that after having it for a while. If that's the case then both sides would be in very similar conditions. She was giggling too while she explained it and kept saying that "even if we wanted to do this, there's no way we could" which is a lie because then she said it could have been from my mom rubbing it on something so obviously they rubbed it on something in the process of fixing the heel. My brother who dropped off the boots said they did a full inspection before turning it in and there wasn't a tear like that. These workers messed up the boots and didn't want to compensate us or even own up to it and instead decided to giggle because "that's what the material does". I definitely don't recommend going here and if you do don't bring boots you like because if they mess up your shoes they will not own up to it. Honestly 0 stars if I could rate it that way. read more

Lacey shoe is a great shop. I'd highly recommend them. I usually bring my shoes in for sole repairs, and the job is done in a few days. They do quality work and they make my shoes last for about a year or longer. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about shoe products. These people are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their customer service is impeccable. I bought a pair of shoes that developed a hole in the toe after about 4 months. I brought them back and they said they would repair them for no charge. When I came to pick them up, they had decided to replace them instead, and had put a piece of leather under the spot where the toe on my shorter foot sticks up, to keep it from making another hole. Went in to get a button sewn back onto my toddlers fabric boots. It was a job I could have done but was choosing not to do. First I was quoted ten dollars and then told it would take a week, minimum. To pop a button on a child's soft boot. When I asked if it could be done sooner, the woman working there laughed and snorted in my face and said I was ridiculous to think that they could do it sooner. I told them never mind and went home and sewed it back on in two minutes flat. Should have done it myself in the first place. What they didn't know was that I was ready to buy a $150 purse from them that I saw on a shelf....due to that woman's blatant disrespect of a new customer, she lost more than a little $5 job....learn some manners please. Peggy, the owner can be very charming. But watch out! Just like the last person said, any sign of trouble and she'll bite your head off, but not by biting, but rather by laughing at you. She charged me $30 to fix a lovely purse of mine that did not actually get fixed at all. When I tried to talk to her about it, she laughed in my face. I walked out. My mom is visiting from out of town and saw Lacey Shoe Repair as we were driving by a few days ago. As someone who deals with Plantar Fasciitis and recently had foot surgery, she is always on the look out for comfortable, supportive footwear. So today, my mom, my wife and I stopped in to take a look. To our surprise, not only do they specialize in shoe repair but they also have custom orthotics and a good selection of footwear. We were greeted by Peggy and her two dogs followed by "hello, how can I help you today?" We told her we were just looking. That we were driving by, saw the store and was curious of what they have. She showed us around, talked about what they offer and then let us look around. My mom started looking at these sandals/slippers(flip-flops) by a company named Telic. We never heard of them before but she found her size, started walking around and was amazed with the comfort and support. Peggy went over all the characteristics that make the Telic footwear unique. She also mentioned that they are a must if you have hardwood floors, which we do. So now my wife and I are trying them on. DAMN!!! These are seriously the best things my feet have ever been in....wife agreed! We must have walked about 20 little laps in their store. That's when we met Paul. He was working in the back on a few repairs when he heard us talking about how comfortable the slippers are. He too talked about what makes them so good and that they are made in the USA in Boise, Idaho (always a plus). Anyway, we ended up buying 4 pairs. They both were personable knowledgable and the service we received was top notch. Paul and Peggy have to be some of the nicest people around. I have been in this shop 4 or 5 times now and love it! Both Paul and his wife have been extremely nice, friendly and courteous to me. They did a fantastic job adding the lifts to my right shoes that I took and the price is what I would expect to pay for the work they did. The dogs in the shop also did not bother me - they were super sweet and did not annoy me in the least. I am so pleased with the service and the quality of workmanship of this business. My elderly mother is not able to focus well on conversations and activity around her. This did not deter either of the owners from spending what time she needed. amazingly, she did not purchase the shoes they had spent so much time fitting for her but never once did they make her feel unimportant to their business. Not Impressed! Went there with a friend after trying to find Santa Fe Leather Repair. My friend was on the wrong side of Fred Meyer and said "Lets try this other place because it will be easier to get there." I agreed. She got her boots stretched. I had 2 pair of boots with me and asked if the guy was still over by Fred Meyer. She made a sarcastic comment about him and said she was sorry I usually went there. At this point, I was not feeling I would leave my boots there. She looked at them and said they could not be repaired and I should just throw them out. Thank goodness I did not! I have been going to LSR for 10+ years! Wonderful customer service every time. Extremely friendly and helpful. The repairs they have done on my shoes are always top notch. I have tried other shoe repair stores that are closer to my home. I do not get the same service and quality repairs as I do with LSR. They also have 2 of the CUTEST and SWEETEST dogs in their shop. Super friendly and mellow. They are extremely well behaved dogs that don't jump on you. They love it when you pet them and don't bother you if you don't pay attention to them. read more

I've seen several reviews for Lacey Shoe Repair in the past. Where did Yelp put them? Some were good, some were bad. The good were always about quality. The bad were about customer service. Based on the quality reviews, I chose to stop in and inquire about potential repair on my boots. The customer service held up to it's reputation. I was literally turned away and told to come back another time, after the holiday but that then they'd "also be absolutely swamped." I was also told that there "wasn't much that could be done" about the insoles of my boots, that one of the spots of leather I wanted stained was "just part of the worn look of the boot" when in fact, it was a factory flaw, as the other boot is clearly made differently. I don't know if I'll be going back... after the holidays. Surely there is a place in town that won't make me feel like an inconvenience. read more

I found that they are rude, rude and more rude. I went in their shop and I was completely ignored. Not, "may I help you"..." we will be with you in a moment"... "hello"... just plain ignored. I waited and looked around, tried on a pair of shoes, tried to have eye contact with both of them and they just kept their eyes and head down. Oh did I mention their customer service skills are bottom of the barrel or perhaps they are just socially inept. Whatever the reason for their their lack of social skills it has the aroma of low class. I decided to leave since they were not interested in thriving as a business. I've been going here for the past three or four years and I've never been disappointed. They've stiched purses, stretched shoes, repaired soles, and added lifts to my elderly mother's shoes. Their knowledge of shoes and feet is astounding. Great service, too. They really care about their customers. A nice bonus: they'll mail your shoes when they're ready.
