Her shop is amazing, filled floor to ceiling with every kind of period costume and accessory. In the little corner of this labyrinthine place that was my fitting room, there were fur trapper's garbs, a papoose on the wall, canes, hats, crowns, a sword, and a robust selection of gentlemen's attire that gave me many options for addressing the necessesaries of my attire and equippage. I went to two other bridal stores and Jennifer's selection and pricing blew them all out of the water! I found the dress that I loved but was looking for a different color. Jennifer was able to order my dress in the color I wanted and had it to me within a week. This was all during Covid which made things very challenging. A few weeks before the wedding we found out we would be having an outdoor wedding due to the Governor's restrictions. An outdoor wedding in December in Washington....who would've thought! Anyway, I went back to Jennifer and she was able to find me a shawl that would help as it was a sleeveless dress. This truly was a one stop shop if need be. I found my hair accessories, my daughters shoes and another dress for my daughter as well. Jennifer the whole time was very reassuring, and everything turned out just perfect! We selected three dresses to try on…read moreand paid the "average" price between the dresses with the understanding they would arrive within two weeks, leaving enough time for alterations before prom on the 30th. Two weeks came and went with no phone call or update. I had to take the initiative to follow up multiple times, despite being told they would call me back with updates, which never happened. I called on the 12th, 21st, 22nd, and again later that week, and each time I was given a different story. Finally, on the 22nd, only 8 days before prom I was told the dresses were being held up in Portland. By that point, I had completely lost trust in their communication and customer service. The lack of follow-up, transparency, and urgency created so much unnecessary stress and anxiety during what should have been an exciting time for my daughter. Again, I had to reach out when I didn't hear back by the 26th, I still had to continue reaching out myself for an update!!! I finally received a call from Jen on the 27th, just 3 days before prom, saying the dresses had arrived around 2:30 PM. I had to leave work early to rush over so my daughter could try them on, choose one, and then quickly get it to alterations in time. What disappointed me most was not just the delay, but the complete lack of initiative, communication, accountability, or even a simple apology. After reading another recent review describing a very similar experience, it's concerning that this seems to be a pattern. I will not be returning, and I'm sharing this review in hopes of saving other parents from the same stress, frustration, and last-minute panic that we experienced.

I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

My posture is very upright and that just makes the chest issue even more difficult. There aren't many places in the US outside of New York that do real bespoke -- patterns cut from scratch. I'm glad I found Gabriel. He has a great understanding of classic men's style and proportions. The suit he made for me is very comfortable and continues to get better as the canvas takes the shape of my body. I keep looking for areas to make micro improvements for my next project with him. But to be honest, the fit is so good I'm not sure there's much to change other than experimenting with other styles, like a double breasted. I plan on commissioning something from him every year as long as I stay in Washington. The super tight, short jacket with the bum exposed, with skinny lapels was trending for a while on off the rack clothing. Even some made to measure places make suits like this. If you are looking for a suit to wear for the next 10 years, I encourage you to give Gabriel a try and have him make something timeless for you.

When I contacted the shop, they showed zero sympathy for how important the evening was and offered no apology or compensation whatsoever. They insisted that if the zipper was going to fail, it would have done so in the store -- "never" outside of it. Their solution was to fix the zipper the following day, which was completely unacceptable since the dress was needed that night. To make matters worse, they wanted me to drive over an hour to University Village at 3:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter stuck in the broken dress so they could "inspect" the zipper. My daughter was part of a group of 11 seniors headed to professional pictures, dinner, and the prom--time was extremely limited. This lack of understanding and flexibility made a very stressful situation even worse. When I expressed my desire for a refund, I was told it was outside their 30-day window and no refund or exchange would be offered. When we purchased the dress, we were told we had to buy it immediately to have it in time for the dance--essentially protecting them from any responsibility, no matter the circumstances. Adding insult to injury, when my daughter tried contacting the woman for help to get out of the dress, her calls went unanswered and were never returned. We were also wrongly accused of zipping the dress incorrectly and misaligning the zipper teeth. Anyone who has dealt with formal dresses knows it takes more than one person to zip these dresses. None of the teeth were damaged, and the zipper was not misaligned -- my daughter was fully zipped into the dress before it failed. They clearly don't care about your special evening; the money is the only thing that matters. I cannot recommend this shop for formal dresses. There are shops that care far deeper than your pockets. This is not one of them!!!!
