Do not use for water boiler cleaning. Lachance had been completing our yearly boiler cleaning for the last few years. The last time it was "cleaned" was at the end of May. So Imagine my surprise that we come back home this past Sunday and our boiler won't turn on. We had to do emergency service from another company just to be told our boiler was so dirty it shut down, and that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Feel like we have been ripped off. Edit. Called Lachance and instead of talking responsibility, they tried saying it's possible for the boiler to get that dirty in a short period of time. This is disappointing as they have done repairs on our boiler in the past with good results. Buyer beware if you are considering using Lachance. read more

So I called Lachance on 4/7/26 to see if I can make an appointment for someone to come out and talk to me about heating upgrades. Got Teresa again (rude bitch) well today was no different with her attitude, after giving her my information, she asked if I was the one that was rude to her and cursing her out last year because of course she was very rude to me, but she of course said she wasn't. I said yes, then she said we are no longer doing business with you, I'm like really ummm ok. Fact is she is a very rude woman who has no business dealing with customers and if a company insists on keeping such people on their staff (probably sleeping with the boss) then quite frankly I'm glad not to be dealing with them anymore. I use them for my busy as well as home needs; with business it is important to stay up and running and they have never let me down! Zero star. New clients, please read all reviews before you decide to go with La Chance Plumbing & Heating. I have been in the rental business for a while, and very involved with plumbing, heating, electrical work and construction work. At the time I used La Chance only for annual furnace tune-up at one property just because the previous owner used them, and that was done by technicians and they were diligent performing steps of cleaning and tests, which was quite basic and things went fine. Unfortunately the private master plumber that I have worked with me on different plumbing projects for so many years has retired. I did not recall I talked to this receptionist and realized how bad she is until I needed a couple of small plumbing updates for another property. She has NO customer service skills, is disrespectful, especially when she talked about plumbing fundamentals and trouble shooting as if she knew all. The plumber she sent was ok, but I was not pleased with the way he handled the water pipe leak as I would prefer the water valve is shut off first before trying to fix, but he said he did not need to, he made a mess, and I had to help clean up the floor later. The price is not reasonable. If your skills are not high and you spend more time doing your job, then you charge the customer more, which is not good. Stay away from this company even when you are desperate having a plumbing leak. This business owner needs to rethink the important role of a receptionist. While the position may seem administrative, the impact extends far beyond simply answering phones. Why important? Receptionist is the first point of contact (customer impression), scheduling and coordination, communication hub, problem solving and conflict management, admin support. If you operate your company like this, all your customers are the one time customers who did not have a chance to read the reviews, and used you and ran away. Pretty sad. read more

I just had an oil tank installed in my cellar. When I called Lachance plg htg. My oil tank was leaking he said we have no problem doing this. I asked him when he could do the job he said Monday.The workers that came were very professional and friendly.I had a good time talking with them. Had my furnace maintained for several years by Dan at Lachance plumbing. He was OUTSTANDING. Called in August for Dan and several excuses later booked an appointment, taking a chance on another technician. I was given an appointment two months later, November 13 at 8:30 am. When I CALLED on November 12, the agent said that they could only arrive at lunch time. When I CALLED at 2 pm on the 13 th , she said that they were not coming and that she would TRY to schedule me. I know that emergencies do come up, but to be treated like I was a bother was irritating to say the least. The company's rating of 2.4 stars should have a negative sign in front. I am very grateful for the promptness in this company for our need for a new water heater unexpectedly. However, as a first time home owner, there is no manual on questions to ask at what time when it comes to these kinds of expenses. I had questions, yes after the fact, BUT it did NOT excuse the arguing, the talking over, and threatening to call the cops of the lady I spoke with about finances. I was appalled by the customer service that was given. There is NO excuse for a company to talk like this to a customer. As others have said...the woman answering the phones has such a negative attitude that you want to avoid any interaction, but when you add in the fact that she is simply unable to do her job (has to be related to someone there) and the rudeness, it is a pass. The service people are generally so-so, I have in the past had great people and then the next guy is swearing up a storm because the work was going to be hard. I called another place, guy came over was polite quick and way way cheaper. Lachance charges you a minimum of $100 to go to your house before anything is even done. This guy did the work and replaced a part all for $114, no way would I get this from these guys. Again avoid, if just so you don't have to talk to angry woman on the phone there. read more

Told us they would be here at 8am, at 10am we called and was told they were on their way, called back at 10 mins to noon and the rude woman who answered the phone cut me off while I was speaking and barked at me that she told me earlier between 10 and 12 and they are on their way and that is not what was told to us. She was verbally abusive and cannot see how anyone would employ a person like that especially with the magnitude of customer complaints on the various review sites for this company. What ever happened to customer service? I can clearly see why their rating is beyond poor and many many people say the same thing that this woman is a rude vial person. Very sad when you have to plan your day around people like this and they come and go as they please with no regard to the customer what so ever. Also worth mentioning that when the tech first came here to try and fix the furnace in the living room he got pink sealer all over our brand new carpet and this is not coming out. The receptionist/dispatcher is an extremely rude and unprofessional woman. The technicians are hard working and pleasant but this woman has the worst attitude and really sucks at her job. I have been a very loyal customer for many years and the one time I have a billing issue she speaks to me like I'm a child and then hangs up on me. My water heater was leaking, I was mopping the floor five times a day. I requested a quote from lachance and they provided me a quote with no information regarding the water heater. No make, model, or any information besides "indirect water heater". I followed up because I wanted to know what they were proposing to install and I was told they didn't have time to address such specific questions because they were dealing with real emergencies, and I should seek help from other contractors. This seems extremely shady to me and I wanted to let people know. FYI- they quoted changing my electric tank to a gas tank with the vent without coming out and when I got three quotes from licensed contractors, Lachances price was the highest by far. I discovered my hot water heater (tank) was leaking on Saturday night. In my experience once they being leaking they don't miraculously fix themselves. I called and left a message with Lachance on Sunday morning at around 8:45am. At 9am I got a call back and on Monday morning by 10:30am I had a brand new water heater. Could they have been a little cheaper....sure. More importantly, they were responsive, on-time, knowledgable and extremely competent. read more

I am waiting for the owner of LaChance to get back to me,I had a split ductless air conditioner installed about 2 some odd years ago. I have been having problems right from the start and still having problems. They came and found the compressor was no good, and charged me nearly three thousand dollars for labor. I paid it right away. Winter came and I had issues when it was very cold. I called they came and the service guys were very pleasant. Unfortunately the issue was not fixed. Now it is summer and the air is not working. I called AGAIN and spoke to the owner. I own a small business and I had to replace a ductless air-heater in my larger dining room. This was installed and is working remarkably. This was done by another company. The new company was very reasonable and professional. I will highly recommend them to everyone. I am going to leave this review until I get a response. I will let you know what the outcome is. I hope they are honest enough to replace the unit WITH OUT CHARGE. My customers' comfort is important. WOW the most unprofessional "lack" of customer service i have ever experienced with a company. The woman that answered the phone was beyond rude. When I tried to confirm my appointment for today she told me it wasn't until next week. I knew I booked it for today as I closed my business to be home. She then proceeded to tell me how wrong I was and it was for next week take it or leave it. Lachance Plumbing & Heating get a A+ rating from me. They installed a brand new top of the line high efficiency, natural draft, oil fired water boiler. Lachance also installed a efficiency circulator, ( ventilation system). My old boiler was toast to the point when turned on nasty black smoke filled my basement. My house was freezing & my only heat source was cranking the oven with the oven door open, a couple old electric heaters, & layers of clothing. I called Lachance on a Friday the owner came the very next day ( Saturday). Monday morning I had three professional workers at my door they did a great job from start to finish. Theresa the receptionist went out of her way arranging the boiler inspection with the town Fire Department. The inspector was very impressed with the system Lachance installed, he said it was one of the best up to date boiler systems he had ever seen. I found the cost very reasonable. read more

I got a phone call in the middle of the night regarding a frozen water pipe that burst and because the water had to be shut off my family was suddenly left without both water and heat in the middle of a frigid winter. One phone call, despite a very busy schedule, and they showed up almost immediately fixed the pipe, turned the heat and water back on, and gave me some great information to give to my insurance agent. Want to express my total dissatisfaction with this company: Lachance Plumbing and Heating of Manchester...Unfortunately for myself I was dealing with A Rude and Unprofessional woman who calls herself the office manager.... On three (3) different occasions I was given three appointments... All three were cancelled.... The first: Feb.8th between 11AM to 1 PM cancelled at the last moment... Second Appointment Feb. 8th 1 PM to 3 PM Cancelled last moment... Third appointment Feb.9th between 1PM and 3PM again cancelled... A new appointment was never given... Complained to the Woman Office Manager and she stated heat calls would precede other service calls... Also a dispute erupted over if there were two or three appointments.... I listed on my calendar the three appointments... Asked to speak to Bill Lachance and the office manager wanted to know why, saying she screens all his calls.... The owner called later and and I informed him of the situation... That his office manager was not helping matters... with some attitude and deciding not to give me a fourth appointment.... I got no where with the owner, he was to call back and never did... Finally had more than enough of this attitude... After checking the reviews from former customers saw what I should have looked at before.... Others were complaining about the same situations.... I've always had luck with Lachance and their team. Recent events include being available on a Holiday to correct a blocked sewage line and installation of a new heating system at my home. I cannot imagine the calls they can get at all hours with sewage back ups and lack of heat in a home. I give props to anyone willing to deal with the stinky end of a toilet any day. read more

Please don't use this company. They have very poor customer service and low quality plumbing work. The receptionist called me, after sending the plumber on to the next client, to tell me I didn't answer the door. I was home the whole time but she argued I wasn't. I expressed concern of not being able to make my 3:00 appointment, she guaranteed twice the other client wouldn't take long and he would be done at our house by then. He didn't show up until 2:30, at the wrong house, and quickly took off. I saw this and called the receptionist before she sent him on to another client again. My sink no longer leaks but now sounds like a helicopter taking off when draining and the pipe is screwed on crooked. After calling and asking them to correct this they keep making up off the wall reasons these errors were because of an existing problem. The pipe wasn't screwed on crooked and it didn't drain loud before they came but somehow these new features are not their fault. They do not value customers, are rude, have poor quality work and are not a company I would ever do business again with. read more

I own several single family homes and have used Lachance for major and minor renovations. They converted an older home from oil heat to natural gas with a super high efficiency boiler (96%) and an on demand hot water heater (95%) and did an incredible job. When they were done it looked like the 1960 home was new construction. I've had some real bad experiences with plumbers in the past, but am glad I found Lachance. I own a multifamily in Manchester and called Lachance for a service call for my second floor tenants because their radiators were not getting warm. Lachance was very quick in scheduling the service for the next day. I told them that I own the bldg and I cannot be there but my tenants will let the technician in. I followed up with my tenant the evening of the scheduled date (because Lachance never called me again) and was told the technician simply opened the vents on the radiators and no parts were used. I then received a bill from Lachance for a service call fee and a part. I verified again with the tenant AGAIN that no parts were used, and have since inspected the parts in the unit and can clearly see they are not new. I sent Lachance a letter (with my check to cover the entire service fee minus the part) to explain the situation. Ive gotten no response other than "past due" invoices showing a balance for the part. I called today to follow up and was spoken to rudely and told that they "did too" use a part and were going to fight me in court. I would not recommend using them, and in fact would recommend warning others about how this company basically steals money from customers by charging for unused parts. read more
