Guy in the front was rude and acted like a know it all. Too bad his attitude costed him us going through on buying a couch.

We purchased a sofa and loveseat in November'22' and were told it would be delivered by mid December, in January we were told it would be delivered in February, when it didn't arrive, we told Lacks we wanted to look elsewhere, the next day a lady called and told us our purchase had arrived. It seemed suspicious, however, we accepted the furniture ( our living room was empty). It all looked used and the loveseat was crooked. We gave Lacks the benifit of the doubt, then we decided to call Lacks to tell them what we thought. They sent a technician who diagnosed a crooked bar underneath, I told him we don't use it. I asked him if it looked used to him - he stayed quite, and ordered a new one. We received our new loveseat today, July 11, and it is so obvious the sofa is a used sofa. Never again! read more

My elderly parents bought an adjustable bed from this company 2 years ago and also bought the warranty to go along with it. The bed has stopped working and I called them to have it repaired. The service department gave me the phone number to GBS Enterprises, the warranty company, in order to file a claim. I called GBS and after spending over an hour on the phone, they were unable to locate the adjustable bed frame listed under the warranty. I was told to contact the furniture company and have then email the sales receipt and service plan paperwork to them. I did as told and was assured they would do so. I waited a few hours and called GBS, but they hadn't received anything from Lacks. I called Lacks again and asked them to call GBS directly to straighten this out. I was told they couldn't do that and they would just resend the paperwork. This is very frustrating and Lacks definitely "lacks" good customer service. read more

Went in to get a new mattress and frame, completed all paperwork and scheduled a delivery and was not made aware of a problem with our delivery until 2 hours after the delivery was supposed to take place. Horrible customer service and the salesman even had the audacity to say to make sure I went back for future purchases because they work on commission! Only thing I was offered after three call I made was a 35% discount and no bed at the agreed upon time! Jason Perez had made sure I will never hot here again. If you need to shop for furniture go to Lacks Clearance Center and they can give you better service and the same merchandise! -Juan read more

I never usually rate or give reviews to any business that I buy from, but I am obligated to do this one. Never in my life have I encountered the Worst Customer Service Ever! I give Lacks Furniture a 1 Star Rating, and I think even that is too much! To the point; a Sales Associate (Jerry) told me that they had in Stock a brand-new coffee table that I wanted, and that it was ready for pick up at the Lacks on 1200 E. Expwy 83 (Store #43). They told me to ask for Joe Covarrubias. When I got there, I saw a bunch of sales associates sitting around in furniture not doing nothing. When I approached the counter, I asked for Joe Covarrubias and he told me he was going to help me. After he checked the computer, he told me that lacks did not have the table in stock, but that they had 2 tables on the sales floor. Then he said that they had to get "Approval" from Upper Management to sell a table from the sales floor. Finally, Joe said (after more than an hour inside), that they did have the table in stock and that it was at the warehouse. Moreover, I paid, and went to the back to pick it up. When I got to the back, some guy said that they didn't have it. Then I asked to speak to the manager (Margie Silva). I swear, I don't know what that lady is doing there as a manager. She has cero managerial skills whatsoever. She was uptight and very rude since the start. With an attitude, she gave me an ultimatum. So, I told her either Refund me my money or give me my coffee table. She said there was a coffee table on the sales floor if I wanted it. After I looked at it I saw that it was all scratched up, and there were dents on top of the table. I explained to her the condition of the table, and she said there was nothing she can do and offered a $20 Discount which I thought it was a Joke. Then Joe Covarrubias (Good old Joe to the rescue) said that they found the brand-new coffee table "after all" and for me to go to the back to get it. So, I went to the back to pick up the paid table (2nd time), and the guy there said that there was no table, that he needed to check. So, I go got very upset and just left the place after "an Hour and 45 Minutes" with a Paid Table and no Table. I think Mr. Joe de la Garza and the Better Business Bureau and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce needs to know how Lacks Furniture is operating and cheating its customers... LACKS IS LACKING SERIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE! DON'T BUY LACKS & SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE! read more

**BUYER BEWARE** My husband and I purchased three pieces from Lack's Furniture on October 27, 2019. We gave a sizeable down payment and were told out furniture would be delivered on October 31, 2019. We were told that we would receive a phone call the day before delivery. When we got that phone call the man on the line said that only one of our pieces was in stock and could be delivered. He said the other two were not in stock and may arrive a couple of days late. We accepted delivery of one piece on October 31, 2019. A few days passed and we had not heard from Lacks regarding our other pieces. I called them and they said that our new pieces would arrive in AT LEAST A MONTH (maybe longer). So they expected us to be without furniture for a month. We went down to the store and asked to speak to their manager. She treated us with complete disrespect. She told us that we had "not asked the right questions" or we would've known that it might take a month to get a piece they deemed "popular." To be honest, she spoke to us as if she was so much smarter than we were. She was rude and unapologetic. We ended up having to choose 3 new pieces. The only pieces that were available were $1,000 over the original price. We had no furniture and new born so we just decided to buy them. Those were delivered to us two days later. Less than a week later, a recliner on our love seat stopped reclining. We called it in and they sent someone out to fix it. Just a few days ago, the recliner stopped working again. We called service and they informed us that they could send someone out to fix it but our warranty covers "repairs not replacements." So basically what they are saying is if they sold us a faulty product too bad. My husband and I are both attorneys and we will be filing a DTPA claim against lacks for their violations of express and implied warranties. If anyone else has had this problem with Lacks, we encourage you to file DTPA claims against them as well. As consumers, we work hard for our money and we expect to be treated fairly. Lacks doesn't value their customers nor our hard earned money. read more

This furniture store was great! I absolutely love the options they have. My husband and I purchased a dining room set here as well as some home appliances and it was such a smooth and easy purchase. Went in on January 2nd to get a dining room set. Once I had signed the contract, they tell me that it is not available until March. In March I called about the table and they said I'd have to pick it up and set it up myself because of everything that is going on (COVID19) and I said fine BUT they said that they didn't have someone at the warehouse at all times so I'd have to call and see if I'd catch them. Supposedly someone would go in from time to time to check in on the building and that's when I'd have to try and catch them. So that never happened. Nothing in April-May and finally in June I got a delivery date. On June 27th the dining room set was delivered but I still had to put the table together. Well, the table was made incorrectly (I measured it) and we couldn't put it together and one of the chairs had a scratch on it so I called lacks and was told they'd call me back with an exchange date. They never called me back so I kept calling and calling (it's so hard to get a hold of someone there) until finally 3 1/2 days later I get a call back with the exchange date of July 4th. We'll see how that goes =/ I think that since I had ordered my table since the beginning of the year, I should have been one of the first ones on the list for delivery. And it really sucks that I had to be calling and calling and calling and calling to get somewhere with these people. If i wouldn't have kept bugging them I would still be waiting for a call back on my table. read more

Furniture was of good quality, however when it was assembled poorly by their staff....it's NO GOOD!! Bed broke & realized it had not been assembled correctly. Definitely will not be returning, taking my business & money elsewhere! And of course it breaks right after warranty & insurance expires! read more
