He has lived here many years and taken in so many of his family members when they had no place to go, including me. A senior unable to work, he let taxes get behind. I was in tears beside myself, as I couldn't afford to pay off what he owed. We were getting low ball offers from "junk house" buyers, what they were offering was just enough to pay taxes due, 1/10 of the value of the house. I googled and this company came up. Kaye listened to me cry and helped me through the process. She was so patient and understanding. This meant so much because another company I called, the gentleman was so rude and critical - as if I was purposefully in the circumstance! Not only was Kaye more friendly, but this company's interest rate was 5% lower! The following week, after the company sent checks off, I contacted the tax offices to make sure they received payment since our home was scheduled for sale soon. One office refused payment and told us to send it to the constable, which was frustrating because the demand for payment said to mail the check to them. I was in tears and terrified, and Kaye did her best to calm me and tell me they've never closed on a home. The owner, Trey, then called me personally and told me the same and that even if he had to drive to Houston himself that they would make sure the check was received and that we could remain in our home. THIS IS THE QUALITY OF SERVICE YOU GET! When I had to take medical leave and defer my payment, Collin (sp?) was helpful on getting my situation updated. However, over the past 5-10 years as he has scaled his business, the level of service has declined (first, a few minor mishaps here and there or things overlooked on my tax returns as I dealt with new, my guess, seasonal workers who never really took the time to know me or my finances beyond quick conversations). I saw less and less of him and more of other random employees handling my taxes. (It's fine, I guess. I'm not a millionaire, so perhaps he has bigger clients to tent to?!) His personal touch and friendly face was always a source of comfort during what could be an otherwise stressful time: tax season. The major issue I have -which has led to my final decision to take my business elsewhere- is with the front office staff which was at one time run by nice, friendly women but have now been replaced by Michael's wife "Ledy". She is rude and lacks basic customer service. Most of all, given that a large portion of Mr. Rose's clients are African American, she could use a course on "cultural competency" and learning how to speak to black folks versus talking down to them or like she is above them! I would conjecture that the frequent turnover in office staff is due to her poor management "style" and lack of respect. It's too bad that she has gotten in the way of what was once a wonderful professional relationship. Thanks to her attitude combined with the other personnel changes in the business, I will most definitely not be returning!
