It was super rainy which unfortunately resulted in some attractions closed off, including the corn maze and the musician on the tractor ride. On a regular day though, for approx $15 admission it's a killer deal. Live music in the tractor, corn maze, a pumpkin, and apple are all included. I find that an overall incredible value compared to other places that charge more for effectively less.

Living in Kits now, it's always fun to stroll up to Kits Farmer's Market. The line up moves…read morerelatively fast (15 minutes or less) and they've sorted out the directions you can go. They have cheese vendors, produce, eggs, meat, coffee, mushroom vendors, garlic vendors, bread, everything you need for cooking a slammin' local meal! A little disappointing that there aren't many jewelry, soap, or art vendors as I always like looking at these as well. Perhaps its because the footprint of this market is a bit small. Today I loaded up on some fresh garlic, sausages from Stapleton (my fave!), and buffalo feta cheese. I enjoy that there's a rotation of local food vendors though, as I've seen different ones there which makes it exciting to check out every once in a while so you'll get to support other local vendors too!

New Westminster Farmers Market has such an awesome selection of vendors each week…read more I'd been wanting to try Twins Donuts for quite some time and when I found out that they were going to be at the New Westminster Farmers Market I just had to make it over there! I brought home 4 donuts: Oreo, Ube Coconut, Leche/Dulce Flan and Apple Pie. These donuts were scrumptious! I love how generous they were with the fillings. There was so much filling spilling out when I cut these donuts. While I was at New Westminster Farmers Market I also bought a few truffles and a Caramel Crunch chocolate bar from Drunken Chocolatier . They have such interesting flavours. Coconut Sambal truffles for instance...I've never seen any other place selling a Coconut Sambal truffle! Lots of crunching to be heard when we ate the Caramel Crunch so it definitely lived up to its name! Their chocolate truffles look so picture perfect. "Artisan" chocolate is an apt description for these chocolates as they really are a work of art. I was impressed already by the chocolates they were selling at the New West Farmers Market. I'm sure I'd been even more impressed if I went to their store on W Broadway.

It's a chill vibe and vendors are friendly and don't try to push you to purchase anything. Prices are higher than your local supermarket but I don't mind paying more for quality goods while supporting local. A lot of the booths offered samples and we tried: non-dairy dips, bacon bits, peach & melon, berry wines, pumpkin wine, raspberry gin. We were able to find everything we needed for our bbq including organic produce, meat seasoning, perogies, vegan crackers with dip, wine and beer.

You enter in the 1st produce area. On the right is all your pastas, salsas, pickles, dairy, non dairy, and everything in between. On the left is breads, meats, more produce, treats, and tons of local products (soups, Perogies, candies, etc.). Prices are very reasonable and they have amazing options specials. Currently, if you spend $25, you get a free bag of potatoes. Service is wonderful. They make it really easy to come back. Children carts (that are cleaned frequently), and plenty of hand sanitizers scattered around the store. Plenty of parking too. My favourite thing about this place is how wonderful they treat the little ones. Its Easter and they hid eggs around the store and had treats/prizes. Its very friendly focused! Thank you!

finally checked this off the list, i've been meaning to make it out to the west end farmer's market…read morefor awhile now, and i'm so glad i did. note: it runs until october 25th, so there's still only a few more saturdays to soak it all in. the market runs saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm, from may 3rd to october 25th, at 1100 comox street. it's a lovely neighbourhood spot, lined with trees decorated with cute little bird houses, tall sunflowers nodding in the breeze, and a nearby community garden that adds so much character. there's a nice mix of vendors, pottery, hazelnuts grown in the fraser valley, certified organic farms, honey, eggs, and fresh flowers. picked up a couple of stocking stuffers from the bowen island herb salts stand. there was even live music, giving everything a relaxed, friendly, local community feel. shop local, bring your eco friendly reusable shopping bags, and take your time wandering through. it's one of those markets that feels both cozy and full of little surprises. fair warning though, between the flowers, the snacks, and all the cute handmade goodies, it's way too easy to slip into "treat yourself" mode and walk away with a bag full of finds you didn't know you needed.
