This is an actual working farm, complete with veggies, herbs and of course pumpkins. You can buy fresh produce from here as well as various types of squashes, apples, carrots, etc. Pumpkins are actually grown on premises since you have to pick them off the vines. Yes, a *real* pumpkin patch, unlike some that just buys pumpkins and places them strategically for the kids. In addition, there are farm animals for kids to see. Chickens, cows, goats, donkeys , and there are a pair of barn owls high in the rafters of one of the barns. And a haunted house too! Coffee and cookies can be purchased. Wear boots, it can get very muddy. Beware, your kids can get pretty muddy too! No entry fee.

The first 10 pound box usually gets eaten before we have a chance to plan any baking or freezing, and then the second ten pounder vanishes shortly thereafter. In the other flat, we found almost two boxes' worth of rotten strawberries, not including the many small strawberries mixed in. The rotten ones were hidden underneath the good-looking strawberries, so we couldn't see the issue when we bought them. The photo doesn't show all of the rotten strawberries because we had already thrown some away on the drive home while sorting through them. The amount we threw away could almost fill another box. We were pretty disappointed with the quality, especially considering how much we paid.

Of course this wasn't mentioned to us or else we wouldn't have paid $30 or wasted our time with two young kids. We tossed out half of the strawberries the next day. Wouldn't we get better quality strawberries for cheaper at a supermarket? What's the point of going to a farm? The staff at Emma Lea Farms were rude and uncaring. Upon leaving the farm I put the strawberries on a table for a quick photo with the tractor and one of the staff came with her spray to clean the table that I had the strawberries on and sprayed all over our strawberries. Our 1-year old was hungry so we wanted to feed her in the car before driving away but were told by staff that we had to leave the parking lot. We understood and decided to move the car to the street outside of the farm. The staff closing the parking lot told us that we weren't allowed to park on the PUBLIC street because that's their property. A quick Google search tells you that the street is no one's property and it's public. I emailed them to let them know but they never responded. Unless you want rotten strawberries or poor attitude I would stay away from this farm. This farm has by far been the worst farm I've ever been to. How could you go wrong with local strawberries??
