I had a 3pm appt that was confirmed via website, email and phone call, only to get there and she had her chairs full. I had an event so couldn't leave since my hair was already out. They didn't start on my hair until 5:30 which was only a touch up on my braids. I left at 10pm. There was a little girl who was still sitting there with half her head done and she was there before me. The woman braiding her hair stopped to eat, talk on the phone and she was watching TV. I've had my hair braided here a couple of times, and unfortunately, I won't be coming back. The first time I went, I told the braider I wanted medium size knotless braids and provided photos. As she started braiding my hair, I noticed the braids were small and I told the braider I requested medium braids. She then told me that the braids were medium size, and so we continued. Once my hair was done, which took 6.5 hours, the owner quoted me for small braids, which was not what I requested or what I was quoted. Despite this, I figured since my braider wasn't the owner that maybe she lacked experience braiding and didn't know braid sizes, so I decided to come back and get my hair braided by the owner a few months later. When I sat down, I requested large Boho braids and provided the owner with pictures for reference. As she was parting my hair, she told me that the large braids wouldn't last as long. As a result, I asked her how big medium braids would be, and she told me to google it. When I googled, I saw a picture of what I thought were actually large braids. When I showed her the photo, she agreed and told me they were not medium size, but large in her opinion. With this in mind, I told her they were the braids I wanted as I requested large braids anyway. She then proceeded to braid my hair, which took 7.5 hours, which should've taken 3 to 5 hours given my quote for large braids. Throughout that time, I wasn't even offered water, yet the braider asked me for some of my gum during the session. When the braids were finished, I looked in the mirror and the boho curls were an absolute frizzy mess, I looked like a poodle fr! When she put mousse on my scalp, I expected her to put it on my whole head to tone down the frizzy curls, but she didn't. When everything was said and done and it was time to pay, she quoted me $300 and said my braids were medium-large, so I was charged for medium braids even though we'd confirmed that the braids would be large beforehand. I then had to go home and spend an additional 4 hours fixing the curls so that I could be presentable for work the next morning. All that said, I won't be coming back. I'm totally understanding of the sheer work it takes to do braids and I never complain about price when I'm quoted, however, it seems to me that this business thrives on overcharging for sloppy looking braids that are smaller than requested solely for the extra money. All I ask for is transparent pricing and service. You already had my business, so there was no reason to move deceptively. Having experienced this both times I went, I wouldn't recommend this braider to anyone. read more

She didn't blow dry it. I deleted my previous review because I did not think it was the proper way to go about my experience with this place. Firstly, I booked with them day of due to my initial stylist cancelling on me last minute. So I understand these women squeezed me so I couldn't have expected to get a grand experience. I will cut them slack on that front. HOWEVER, they charged me nearly 500 dollars for my mother and I's hair that took 10 hours to complete and had us outside on their porch of someone's home. In the heat. I HATE the heat so this had me in a bad mood after sitting out there for just an hour. Imagine my attitude after 10 hours My mother's hair was just awful but I can't put it fully on them. She has very thin hair with little to no edges so styling her hair for any braider is a challenge. I just wish they would have suggested another style for my mother that would have suited her better. She was not happy at all. Even a day after getting them done, my mom was ready to take them out. They charged me $380 for my medium knotless braids that were lower back length. Idc if this is california, that price is STEEP. Especially since I had to come wash and blow dried. Part of me believes they may have overcharged me because I looked like I had money to burn. That is just an assumptions I'm making. Anyways, after my first initial review I was contacted by one of the workers asking if I could come by and discuss this incident. They even offered me a refund. However, after I expressed that I did not want to come because I don't have the time (I work 50 hours a week) but did want to get a refund, they ghosted me. SMH. What was there to discuss? I already took my braids out by then which didn't even last me a month. I don't want my hair redone, I want my money back. Yes, these ladies are kind and whatnot, but this situation they have for a "temporary" location is not it. They gotta find something better than this. The clients and the braiders deserve to work in a safe, comfortable environment. Someone could have a heat stroke out there for hours while someone is braiding their hair which is sometimes in itself uncomfortable af. My braids look amazing. She did a great job. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the braider arriving 30 minutes late with no apology until I asked what was going on. My hair is neat but very tight. I had to take a pain pill afterwards. She was kinda rough on my head but she did ask if I was okay during the process. I want to preface that these women are very kind hearted. However my service was absolutely horrid. 1. I got braids and they took 9 very painful hours. Not because they braid slow but because they kept taking breaks and leaving. 2. I was getting braided outside in the heat! No water, no wifi, my phone was dying. There was nothing to do! No TV to watch. I sat there in pain, in silence because no one played any music. (I know that sounds like I'm being a brat but when you pose yourself as a "luxury" hair braiding and have me sitting with nothing to do for 9 hours... you'd go crazy too! 3. I was STARVING! Not once was I able to leave and grab something to eat nor did they offer me water until 4 hours into my service. 4. Lastly after all that my hair turned out nothing like the photo on their website. What a waste of money. I wish they did better because those women are incredibly kind... please save your money and DO NOT come here or even bring your tender headed kids because they will be in tears. read more

I was very excited to try out this place. Unfortunately it never happened! I received a text message asking to move my appointment up one day in advance. Cool no problem. So I arrive at the temp location which is an apartment complex. I called the number and was send to voicemail with a text "can't talk text me". I responded and said that I was there and needed the apartment number. No response. I call back and I'm getting the same can't talk message which means they are sending the call to voicemail. After 15 mins, I send a message saying I guess the app needs to be canceled. At that point, she immediately calls and says her phone was dead and she was sleeping. Ms, how can you text if you're sleeping and why are you sleeping when you have an appointment scheduled. I wasn't even mad that I had to drive 30 mins, I was more pissed that each time I called she responded with a text verses answering the phone! Phones don't send call forwarding messages when it's dead. I really was hoping to have found a quality braided but nope all I got was an appointment moved up and a waste of my time. read more
