Second time into this location and certainly won't be the last. Nikki was my first stylist and did an awesome job. It was my first cut from Lacey and DEFINITELY won't be the last. Just went in for a standard side buzz but I feel like I got the whole experience! Super accommodating in making a last minute appointment. Lacey was a good way to start the day! This place is such a disaster after Kerry left. Was told walk ins till 5 got there 15 min later and all booked up. Really. !!!!

I had given up on Lady Janes a year ago because they just couldn't get it right. They only had one stylist who would listen and do a good job. Yesterday, out of desperation and everyone else had a 2+hour wait, I gave them one more try. They only had one "stylist" working. I told her my youngest wanted his Mohawk trimmed up. He has white hair, so it's hard to tell until your right up in it how long it is unless it's really long. I'm never sure when they ask me "what size?" (Which is why I don't cut hair) so I called my husband. We confirmed with her a 1. She said his head is going to burn, I said we put sunblock on him and my husband said his Mohawk last month sides was also a 1. She confirms you're sure a 1? Yes. Kid comes running to me with tears in his eyes after. SHE SHAVED HIS WHOLE HEAD. She knew I was mad before she even reached the desk and I said why did you shave him he wanted a Mohawk? He had a Mohawk! She said "no his hair is far too short for a Mohawk" I said now it is. She said I won't charge you I said good I wasn't going to pay you. She kept telling me "you never said Mohawk and don't worry I did a 1 1/2" WHAT?!? Why did you have me confirm a 1? I finally said look, I said it when I called and asked if you were busy, I said it 3 times when you were up front and confirmed just the sides. When she wanted to say more I said never mind nothing we can do about it now. My older son had a very specific cut he wanted. He showed her the photo on his phone. I said if you can't do this say so and we will wait and go somewhere else tomorrow. She said "oh yes I'm very familiar with that cut, I can do that" I asked are you sure because if not we will wait until tomorrow. "Oh no, I can do it I've seen that photo a million times". He gets done with his cut and it looks NOTHING like the photo. He said "I really like it." Ok. So I pay for just his cut -to be fair I tried to tip her for my little guy and she wouldn't accept it. When we got home my oldest showed my husband the photo and said "this is what I really wanted" I said why didn't you tell me you weren't happy? He said "because I knew you'd be mad". I said not at you, but I wouldn't have paid for yours either. He said "it's fine it's not terrible and I can get it cut somewhere else in a few weeks" So apparently they have ZERO people there who can do what you ask them. Save your money and find some place else..no wonder they didn't have a wait! read more

I just got the worste fade I have ever seen. The hair by my ears is longer than the hair 4 inches higher on my head. The woman cutting my hair should not be allowed to work at any barber shop. I just left and drove straight to Hair Mechanix. I'm hoping they can fix my hair. I am very easy going but this is ridiculous. Have been there twice. Have been overcharged both times. Haircut, goatee trim and scalp treatment should not cost $61 dollars. I was told the second time that my goatee was a full beard, because of a stray hair on the side of my face. I have been going to Lady Jane's since they were a single shop in St. Clair Shores. First timer of this location. I had been to the Novi one several times 10+ years ago or so and that had always been great. It's a bit of a pain to get to if you're coming from the south, considering the construction going on Old 23. Building is nice, seems relatively new. Made an appt. for 2 PM on a Friday, signed in, and got seated within 5 minutes. I believe Lacey cut my hair. Did a great job. Went over the same areas several times to make sure it was right. Total was $19 for cut, shampoo, hot towel, and neck shave. Gave $25. Will definitely repeat. read more
