Cancer Patient Refused $500 Refund - Poorly Done Microblading…read more I am a recently diagnosed cancer patient that was seeking to get my eyebrows microbladed. I went to Maria @mariialash for microblading/"nano brows". Her price for this service is $500. I wanted to get this done prior to starting chemo so I could still have natural-looking brows during treatment. Unfortunately, 100% of the pigment that Maria put on my eyebrows fell out, despite following her care instructions. I informed her of this and sent a photo of my plain brows, stating that I am starting treatment any minute and will be unable to do anything that may compromise my immune system such as getting a tattoo, for at least the next year. At this time I requested a refund. She has refused to disperse a refund stating that her disclaimers her clients sign state this could happen. A flimsy "disclaimer" does not excuse a business from providing good service and exercising good judgement. I do not recommend trusting Maria with your money nor your brows.

The entrance is very clean and sterile, which is something you would want from a place taking care of your skin. Like I said in the email, if a customer asks you for a hair color you should be aiming to deliver that. If a customers hair is too damaged according to you, you can't just decide to do your own color without telling the customer. I'm not sure why you are claiming this was discussed during my consultation with Jade, you were not even present during that time. Again she showed me blonde hair and if she was honest with the color SHE (not me) decided looked best she should have showed me photos of the dark brown hair she was planning. I would have said no and left the salon. If you see her phone history for December 31, 2025 at 4:20pm you will see for yourself what I was shown, and it is nowhere near what she did to my hair. I hope your salon does not continue to do the same for new customers like I was and practices honesty. It seems someone else also had a similar experience to me in the reviews here...

I had a hard time finding an artist who was in my budget especially because I was just getting my hair and makeup done, none of my bridesmaids or family, and many artists have really high minimums. I'm thankful for Victoria because she could come to my hotel and get me ready and I looked absolutely amazing on my wedding day - my dream look was really achieved. She took my feedback and suggestions really well. She was always very sweet and kind. However, I had some problems leading up to the day that meant I can't leave a 5 star review... I had some communication problems because my emails would sometimes bounce back and my calls go to a phone no longer in service - one time I even had to reach out to her on Facebook to get in touch with her (after I had paid). I booked my trial with her and drove from where I live in DC down to Richmond (even staying in a hotel overnight) and she wasn't there. I was truly shocked. She was very apologetic and came up to meet me in my apartment in DC for my trial instead, but it left a pretty bad impression and made me very anxious for my wedding day. I'm really glad I did the trial because there were some things I wanted to fix for the wedding day (all of which she achieved, except for having the fake eyelashes be a bit too long so they butted up against my glasses, which I pointed out for the trial but was still a problem on the wedding day. I've had my makeup done for other weddings and the fake eyelashes weren't a problem then, so I know shorter ones exist...) Thankfully, she was better at communicating over text after that and showed up on time for my wedding day and everything worked out really well, so all's well that ends well, but there were some bumps in the road.

He studio is cute and clean and relaxing. She was so sweet and has a great sense of humor. She let me snooze, which I often do during my appointments - but while I was awake she was so pleasant to talk with. My lashes look amazing! I feel sexy again ;) I drove over an hour to see her and it was well worth it. I've had a few technicians over the course of time I've been getting lash extensions, and Lisa is certainly in my top 2. She gets so busy so expect to be interrupted often. I sometimes feel that she's kind of mean, maybe she's just burnt out but I definately feel a difference from when she first started compared to now. Sometimes i'd rather lay quietly and leave instead of engaging in a conversation. Don't use the groupons or ask about it, she got really mad at me for bringing it up and it hurt my feelings. Through it all, she was professional and organized and really pleasant to be around. She has an amazing attitude and a disarming personality, which is great because I tend to be awkward :) Her studio is so cute, and is in a great location in the fan. I felt really relaxed while getting my makeup done in the studio. When she came out to meet me at my wedding venue, she was ready to go and all setup by the time I got there. She breezed through makeup for the girls and had my makeup done on time, as promised. I felt amazingly beautiful both times she did my makeup, but especially so on my wedding day. The airbrush foundation that she uses really does last 8 hours. I was still getting compliments on my makeup by the end of the night, and it was a loooong day! I had never had my makeup done professionally before planning my wedding, but Candance has made me a believer!

It only took them 2.5 hours to do hair and makeup for all 4 of us and they seemed so at ease. They made the morning of my wedding so wonderful and the final product was fantastic! I loved that they asked questions of each bridesmaid- what they envisioned, if they wanted fake lashes, etc. They really listened and we all were really happy with the final product. Candance was also very flexible with me- I was planning my wedding from 3 hours away so Candance and I communicated via phone and email. She also only requested a 50% deposit on the services at the time of booking. This was a nice concession I wasn't finding with other services.
