I got my first set of eyelash extensions today with Anastasiia and so far, so good! The look is soft and subtle but also adds a good amount of volume. I didn't want anything too dramatic and I think she did exactly what I asked for. I will say that at first it is a little stressful not being able to option your eyes at all as they are slightly taped down (which, duh, makes sense haha) but I could feel myself getting a little anxious. I also did feel a small amount of burning around my eyes with the adhesive but it quickly went away once we were done. I mainly wanted lashes just to quicken my morning routine and to create a very nice, natural look. I'm hoping that the lashes last for the full 3 weeks before I have to refill them again. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with my experience!

I asked for very dramatic and lush lashes for my wedding, and that's exactly what Paris delivered! So happy with them :)

I'm getting married this week, so of course I had to get some lash extensions! I found Luxe Lashes on Yelp, so I decided to give them a go after reading all of their great reviews. I had been doing A LOT of research on eyelash extensions before deciding to go with Luxe Lashes, because I was very concerned about maintaining the health of my natural lashes, and I wanted to make sure I was going with someone reputable. Their website is very informative and reiterated all the safe practices I was looking for, so I knew they were going to be great. It took me a couple minutes to find the salon, but it is really cute and well decorated! My appointment was with Paris, and upon meeting her I was very excited to get my lashes done. She was super sweet and very knowledgeable, and she talked with me about what length/volume my natural lashes could handle, and told me that they wouldn't do anything more then 2mm longer than my natural lashes, so as not to damage my natural lashes. She said it's always possible to work up to longer/fuller lashes too. We discussed the look I was hoping to achieve and she told me that she'd let me know once she got to look at my lashes more closely if I could do the 80 lashes or the 100. I told her I wanted something super dramatic and noticeable, something that would really show up in the wedding photos. Once we got upstairs, she gave me a neck pillow, I laid down on the table and she got to work. I have to admit, I am super squeamish when it comes to stuff around my eyes. I have trouble going to the eye doctor, or getting my makeup professionally done, so I was VERY nervous about having to lay completely still and have someone working that close to my eyes for an hour +. Besides when she put on the gel eye pads (which go very close to your eye, to hold down the bottom lashes) it was completely relaxing. When she was putting on the gel pads I couldn't help blinking a bunch, so she had to adjust them a couple times; but once she got to work on my eyelashes I had a hard time staying awake! It was very relaxing to lay there with the music playing, and I felt like the 2 hours went by super quick. When I woke up, I had AMAZING full, gorgeous long lashes. These are the lashes dreams are made of! I have to admit, I have already booked my appointments through the holidays because I am not ready to part with these gorgeous things any time soon! The best part, is that since getting them done I have gotten TONS of compliments! I wake up looking fresh and put together with no effort. Even my fiance said they looked amazing and he couldn't believe I didn't have any makeup on! Worth. every. penny!

I originally started going to to the Short Pump location, which I believe is closed now. Paris has been my go-to since day 1. I got the original set three months ago, and have gone for regular re-lash appointments ever since. The application was comfortable, and Paris did a great job helping me find the length/curl combo that I liked best (suuuuuper natural). Price-wise, they're on the lower end of professional lash extension prices in the area. The time I've saved on eye makeup in the morning is so with it!

This is about 3 or 4 days after I got my lashes done. I had dipped my head in the water, so the lashes are "wet".

I had researched almost all day every day for someone to do my lashes for my vacation to the Dominican Republic. I had never gotten false eye lashes and didn't want to look way too dramatic. I had the fear of the "glue heavy" look, as I would call it. I got on yelp, found Luxe Lashes, read the reviews and decided to take a leap of faith. Not very many people gave a detailed description on what they had asked for. I got the "Natural" lashes. Which were perfect. I wear glasses, so it did take some time to get used to the lashes smacking the lenses but I smiled/giggled every time it happened. I don't wear much makeup but on vacation I had planned on wearing some; once I woke up and saw how gorgeous, fabulous, hot tamale, beautiful I looked I said forget it. The lashes added to my confidence. I didn't get my lashes wet till about three days after getting them done. (Picture with Hair up) they still looked very natural. I also got my eyebrows done there. Let. Me. Tell. You! I am so happy I did! I've found a new home. I'll be leaving for vacation again in 100 days (who's counting?) and I'll be scheduling an appointment again soon. Oh and yes! I said to myself I wouldn't get the "re-lashes". I lied, I did! I kept them up for about 4 months after that. I loved them! Thank you so much to the owner because she did my lashes for the first time! Shoutout the the woman who does the eyebrow threading!

These were my eyelashes the day after getting them done. Love them!

Arielle butcred my eyebrows during my microblading retouch, I'm letting them fade out but I'm so embarrased by them.

I booked this salon because I had a trip coming up and needed someone closer to home since I normally get my hair done in DC by my original stylist. I trusted this salon because their social media made their work look amazing, but this experience taught me that what you see online is not always reality. Before my appointment, I made it very clear what I wanted. I didn't show some random Pinterest inspiration photo --I literally showed photos of my own hair done by my original stylist and explained that I wanted it to look exactly like that again. For reference, the first photo I attached is my actual hair done by my original stylist, and the second photo with the bangs is what I left this appointment with. The result was uneven, overcut, and honestly looked nothing like what I clearly asked for. My appointment lasted almost four hours even though all I asked for was a color gloss, layers, and bangs. Never in my life have I had such a simple appointment take that long. The entire appointment was painful and uncomfortable from start to finish. The stylist was extremely rough with my hair the entire time -- aggressively pulling through tangles, yanking my head around, brushing harshly, and handling my hair with zero care. I was genuinely trying to hold back tears and praying for the appointment to be over already because of how uncomfortable I felt. At one point during the haircut, I could already tell something was going wrong, and I asked multiple times for him to stop cutting my hair and just leave it alone. Instead, he continued cutting anyway after I specifically said to stop. While my hair was being washed, I turned around and literally saw a chunk of my hair in his hand, and my stomach dropped. Honestly, I think even he knew the haircut was going badly because he repeatedly kept asking throughout the appointment if I was okay. The final result looked nothing like the photos I showed him. The bangs were poorly blended, the haircut looked rushed and uneven, and overall it completely changed the shape of my hair in a way I did not want at all. Then came the color issue. As soon as I washed my hair later that night, blue-black dye immediately started coming out everywhere nonstop. It covered my hands, stained my shampoo, got all over my shower and rugs, and completely covered my tub in dark dye. I had to wash my hair over and over because the color just kept pouring out continuously. I understand that some color bleeding can happen after getting your hair done, but this was beyond excessive and honestly concerning considering I had only left the salon hours earlier. Today is day two after my appointment and my hair is STILL bleeding color every single time I shower. I have had my hair professionally colored for years by my original stylist and I have genuinely never experienced anything like this before. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I initially reached out privately because I wanted to handle things professionally before leaving any kind of review. I texted around 5 PM explaining my concerns and received no response for hours. I continued trying to follow up because I was being ignored, and I finally received a response the next morning after reaching out again. Instead of accountability, I was told I needed to "give the stylist 24 hours" because everything had to go through the owner first. Honestly, I found that frustrating considering the stylist was the one who performed the service. The owner also tried telling me the color only bled because I didn't wait 24 hours to wash it, which is completely untrue. Again, I have had professionally colored hair for years and have never once experienced dye pouring out like this after a single wash. After all of this, the only solution offered was a partial refund along with being told "there's nothing else we can do." I was also originally quoted around $220, but somehow ended up being charged over that amount instead. At that point, it stopped being about the money and became more about the lack of professionalism, care, and accountability surrounding the entire experience. I ended up having to handle the situation myself through my bank because I personally did not feel comfortable paying full price for an experience that left me this upset and unhappy. More than anything, this experience taught me to speak up for myself more. If you feel uncomfortable during a hair appointment, trust your instincts and say something immediately. I stayed quiet trying to be polite and hopeful that things would get better, and I deeply regret not listening to my gut sooner. I paid expecting to leave feeling confident and excited before my trip, and instead I left stressed, upset, uncomfortable, and regretting my decision completely.

I walked in this week for a silk press. The salon was classy and clean. My hair turned out great…read more It had lots of body. Khadija did an awesome job.
