I recommend placing your order in person rather than online, as it allows you to go over all the details. For the most part, everything went smoothly, aside from one small oversight--they forgot to write my daughter's name on the cake. We picked up the cake on Saturday and enjoyed it the following day. I ordered a 6-inch round double chocolate cake, and it served eight people, which was exactly what we needed. The cake had a delicious flavor, and everyone enjoyed it. While it wasn't quite as moist as I had hoped, I believe that may have been because we waited a day before serving it. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and would definitely order from Dave's Cakes again in the future.

My personal favorite is their strawberry buttercream frosting it's one of those things I always end up asking for when we order a cake. I also really like that you can mix and match flavors and especially the fillings between the layers. It makes each cake feel a bit more custom and not just standard birthday cake. Everyone there has always been super friendly and welcoming every time we go in which makes it an easy experience overall. My daughter is especially into their cupcakes when the Oreo ones are in rotation she gets super excited and that's usually what we end up leaving with. Just a solid place we keep going back to because the cakes are consistently good and it feels like they actually care about what they're making.

Just plain and simple (and good!) donuts. We have been to Pettit's a lot over the years obviously, but I never thought to review them until now, on our last visit. The interior is simple, just like classic bakeries from my childhood. You can smell the baking donuts and treats and it brings you right back to those memories. Katie was the attendant behind the glass case on our last visit and she was super nice and took care of us even though we didn't know exactly what we wanted when we came in. It was close to closing time when we decided to pop in, so I did have some concerns about freshness. But that was no issue! They were all still super fresh and delicious. We got about 8 donuts and rolls and each and every one was fabulous. Their classic cake donuts are my favorite, with the white, chocolate, or maple frosting. They remind me of the little donuts you'd get after church with your parents, when they serve coffee and donuts in the parish center - LOL! The filled/long John donuts are my husband's favorite, and they are also super tasty. The white fluff that Pettit's uses in those is heavenly. Super sweet but not cloying so much that you couldn't finish one. Next time you're on the hunt for something sweet and want a good quality, affordable option that may give you a bit of nostalgia, definitely hit up Pettit's Pastry!

I think the almond croissant is my favorite so far. I've always look forward to stopping in when I'm in town. The food is truly the star. I tried the seasonal butter pecan tiramisu latte, which was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and so smooth. For pastries, the strawberry and cream croissant was light, flaky, and fresh, with just the right amount of sweetness. The egg and bacon croissant was savory, satisfying, and baked beautifully, and the double egg bake was hearty and flavorful, ideal if you're looking for something more filling. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff were welcoming, patient, and happy to answer questions, which made the experience feel easy and inviting, even during a busy time. Overall, Tous Les Jours is a wonderful spot for coffee, pastries, or a casual breakfast or brunch. High-quality food, great service, and a calm, inviting ambiance. I'll definitely be back to try more of their seasonal offerings.

Knowing it's near Brother Sebastian's helps. There was a table set up right by the door that reminded me of a kid's book called America's White Table by Raven. It's a symbol for and remembrance to service members fallen, missing, or held captive in the line of duty. It made me stop and think for a minute. The server behind the counter was very helpful, describing the various goodies. It was hard to choose. I ended up with a chocolate chip cookie, a cappuccino chocolate candy cup, a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread and one of their specialty items which I can't name. It's a small bowl-shaped croissant. It was delicious. Tomorrow, I will be making toast for breakfast to sample the bread.
