I went ahead and reached out to them to provide flowers for my mom's 60th birthday. I had organized a small dinner in a private room at the Tabard Inn in Dupont. Once I emailed I heard back almost immediately. Maria's attention to detail was very impressive. I sent her photos of the space and she got back to me with arrangement ideas within my price range. The following evening, after the funeral, I called Davis to see what had happened. They said they never got the message I left with their answering service, and offered no apology or corrective action. It's their service! With Davis, you can take it or leave it, and shut up. By the third day, the flowers had started to wilt.

I've ordered flowers from Davis via their Web site on multiple occasions for friends who live in…read morethe area. The arrangements have become increasingly smaller over the past few years. The last time I ordered flowers from Davis (Fall 2011), when given the option online, I paid more to double upgrade the arrangement so that it was a "super deluxe" arrangement with exponentially more roses and the like. With delivery and tax, the arrangement cost close to $100. My friends took a picture of the arrangement and sent it to me with a thank you. I was horrified and embarrassed when I saw the picture. The arrangement could not have been smaller---it was about the size of my hand---and from the picture I could not distinguish any roses at all. Quite frankly, there were barely any flowers in the arrangement---maybe about five to eight in total. Suffice to say, I was embarrassed to think that the recipient of the flowers probably thought I had spent $25 on such a small and cheap-looking arrangement. I will not use Davis again. Be careful of the bait and switch if you choose to use this florist.
