Scheduled an appointment, it gets cancelled due to some other emergency. An emergency is fine and…read moreI'm not upset about the cancellation. What *is* annoying is the fact that there was no communication notifying me of the change in appointment. When trying to get details online, of course the website is no help in giving me any details about the change to appt. You can't reschedule online, only cancel an appointment and start a new one, which puts you at the back of the line; not to mention the fact that the service to request a new appt isn't even working online so you have to go back through the phone menu just to wait some more since they are always at "high call volume." Also, a 5-hour appointment window? What is that? All of this available technology, and the best we get is "oh, they'll be there sometime in the morning...probably."

If Southern California gas supplies natural gas to your residence you don't have a choice but to…read moredeal with them. Serviceman was out today to update and replace the gas shut off valve at the gas meter because they said it was buried in the ground and too low to safely access it in case of an emergency if it needed to be shut off. After the service technician completed that job he went throughout my residence making sure all the gas appliances turned on like the stove, dryer etc. and he had to physically reignite the two water heaters. He pointed out another safety hazard the fireplace flute that did not have a C clamp on it to keep it partially open when the fireplace is being used in case you forget to open it. With it fully closed he said it could cause carbon monoxide buildup poisoning and could kill you. He offered me a C clamp and said he would install it for $50 or I could buy it on Amazon for 5 dollars. I stated can I just take that and I'll install it in about 30 seconds. No you'll have to purchase one on your own they make us charge for it to be installed. If this is such a hazard and you're here to prevent a natural gas hazard whether it's with the gas or the fireplace why would you not just install the C clamp to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning or death by carbon monoxide poisoning. Is it really about natural gas safety or is it about making $50 after all we already pay for natural gas Service. This doesn't make any sense because if you pointed out there's a potential danger in my house with the fireplace flute venting and you don't correct it because of a five dollar C clamp I think there's a lot of liability on Southern California gas should something deadly happen. And you wrote down a documented that you did not correct it because of the $50 fee for a five dollar part. Do better SoCal gas company! A five dollar C clamp for them and all about 45 seconds to install it on the flute in the fireplace so it remains vented at all times. I went on Amazon and found one for seven dollars like he recommended I do. This should be part of a safety service plan if you're coming out to my house....PERIOD‼
